Pulling black carriage

Horse trots down highway

Mane flies in brisk wind

Passing bales of hay

Black shapes are ahead

Crossing road in race

Slow down to avoid

Wild turkey chase

In cold winter months

Bare trees frosted white

Family homes in hills

Glow with morning light

Near cold winter's end

Sheds are puffing smoke

Tree sap boiled down

Maple syrup stroke

Foals bound in a race

Cows graze with offspring

Brown fades into green

With warm winds of spring
