I have a little problem

My rhymes and chimes are missing

I've looked in all my notebooks

But no where can I find them

I check the first floor bedroom

I peered into the shower

I poked around the kitchen

And all around the backroom

I hunted in the basement

And even checked the attic

I looked up on the roof and

Behind the window casements

I must find my rhymes and chimes

How will I write my poems

Did a thief break in my house

And commit a word play crime

I called the police chief round

Who looked at current writing

Then turned to me with grin

And points fingers with no sound

OH! I said in disbelief

My rhymes and chimes not lost

They just got separated

I shook my head with relief

Just need to line reorder

For the first and fourth lines rhyme

And with a little rework

Now lines two and four do chime

My poems sound so much better

When my rhymes and chimes are close

Write chief a thank you letter

Close my eyes and take a doze
