No one to tap timetable

A line of seeds and peanuts

Adorn my long porch railing

Better than morning donuts

Blue jays arrive with wailing

Forget the morning news shows

Would rather watch the blue jays

Inspires me to compose

Create a catchy word phrase

Between the line of lyrics

I watch the grackles quibble

Goldfinches lift my spirits

Squirrel chases make me giggle

Lyrics flow like the current

My backyard a writing boon

Do not feel like a hermit

I write in nature's commune
