Lyrical Life
Indeed I had a hammer hand
But settled down in a better land
Indeed I wore a jealous heart
until it tore my whole mind apart
Quickly racing and slow to learn
How oft the wisdom of life is spurned
As passion plays its part unbound
And tomorrow on the spring is wound
Indeed a slave to being right
led me through the dark of night
Indeed the pain of punishment
It's own lessons soon were met
Softly this music rousing deep
keeps espousing in restless sleep
A way to end the war long fought
in leaving passions I have brought
How that pain and patterns rising
gave pleasant glimpses in some dream
of a scheme, my heart devising
against a varied anti-theme
Some darkened glass hiding shards
as scant visions of a future stand hid
and still redressing my foolish part
for a grander plan was demanded
Indeed I had a thirst-born soul
and the taste of salt wearing thin
A heart not larger than the hole
dragged my hunger to look within
There well-met, the man who lives
and the muse by which songs rise
Now an endless well which gives
Lyrical life and never dies
