Chapter 9: A Date Part 2
Alfred pulled up at the restaurant "We're here, Santiago Grill," Alfred said as Lily, Lynn, and Jonathan got out of the limo
"Thanks, Alfred, I'll call you when we need you to pick us up," Lynn said with a smile as Alfred smiled back
"I'll have my phone by me then. Also, Master Lynn... enjoy yourself," Alfred replied as he drove away. Lynn turned around to see Lily walking with Jonathan... with the ladder holding her hand. Lynn sent a glare at him and let out another low growl. Jogging up to their side, Lynn quickly grabbed Lily's other hand "Hey, where'd you two think you were going without me?" Lynn asked with a smile
"We were going to get seats, you were talking to Alfred," Lily explained as Lynn looked up at Jonathan
"That right?"
"Yes, ma'am," Jonathan replied as Lily nodded in confirmation. Lynn sighed as they both walked into the building. A waitress was standing near the door as she looked at the trio and said: "O-oh! M-Ms. Loud! What are you doing here?"
"We just came for dinner. Table for 3, please," Lynn said as the waitress nodded
"R-right away!" she replied as she had them follow her. Giving them their menus as they sat down, the waitress bowed saying: "I'm afraid I won't be your main waitress for tonight. But may I offer drinks?"
"I'll have some water, please," Lynn said
"Soda!" Lily said as Lynn nudged her, "sorry, Soda please,"
"Just some soda too, with a straw please," Jonathan said as the waitress nodded and left. When she was gone, Lynn turned back to Lily and Jonathan as the ladder said: "So... how was your day, Lily?"
"It was fine, just had some... things happen. But other than that, it was alright," Lily replied
"Want to talk about these things?" Jonathan asked, "I am a legal psychiatrist,"
"If she doesn't want to talk about them t-"
"I ran into some trouble on the way out of school," Lily blurted out as she interrupted Lynn
"What kind of trouble?" Jonathan continued
"Oh, just some girls... they... did some things. But other than that, it was just a normal thing,"
"Normal?" Lynn asked
"It's really nothing once you get down to it... so, what are we having?" Lily said as she tried to diverge from the current conversation
"Lily, you can jus-"
"Lynn Loud, to what do I owe the pleasure?" said a voice as Lynn looked over and saw a tan woman with black hair in a ponytail. She wore a waitress outfit with dress shoes and a towel on her waist. She also had a large bust, border-lining E cups. In one hand was their drinks while the other held a notepad, she seemed to glare at Lynn as Lynn said: "Ronnie Ann, figured you'd hop at the chance to do something like this," causing Ronnie to grunt
"You know me so well. Who's this, your boyfriend?" Ronnie asked as Lynn seemed to blush while Jonathan shook his head
"No, no! I'm just... Lily's 'date', that's all," Jonathan said quickly as Ronnie raised an eye-brow
"Lily?"
"HI!" Lily said as she waved at her
"Hey, Lily. How are ya? Been a while since I last saw you, how are things?"
"Oh, they're fine. Just treating Jonathan to dinner," Lily responded as Ronnie looked at Jonathan with a slight glare
"That so?"
"Yup! He paid for my things earlier this week and I wanted to pay him back,"
"Well then, this really changes things... so here are your drinks," Ronnie said as she set the drinks down in front of them, "and water with the straw," she stated as she placed it in front of Jonathan
"Thank-you, gorgeous," Jonathan said. Ronnie smirked as she shook her head "Flattery will get you nowhere, masked-man," Ronnie said, "so what will you all be having?"
"What would you recommend?" Jonathan asked
"Our special," Ronnie replied, "The Lincoln Lover's Supreme," as Jonathan froze. Lynn looked at him as Jonathan said: "E-excuse me, the what?"
"The Lincoln Lover's Supreme. An extra-large burrito with your standard fillings, but with Sauerkraut and special cheese imported from Germany," Ronnie explained, "it's not a very popular choice, but it's just something that I... came up with. Only my brother and his wife order the thing s-"
"I'll have that," Jonathan said quickly
"W-what?"
"I'll. Have. That. The Lincoln Lover's Supreme," Jonathan said again. Lynn and Lily ordered simple things and Ronnie left a note near Lynn's hand. When Ronnie left, Jonathan quickly got up and said: "I've gotta go use the restroom, don't go anywhere," rushing to the bathroom. When he was out of earshot, Lynn looked down at Lily and said: "So, wanna talk?"
"There's nothing to talk about," Lily replied
"I beg to differ,"
"There's. Nothing. To. Talk. About," Lily repeated
"Lily, if you're being bullied at school I wanna hear about it,"
"Like you care," Lily said with a huff
"Excuse me? What did I do for you earlier this week?" Lynn asked as Lily looked at her
"For the first time in months! Years even!"
"And what am I doing now?"
"This is different! You didn't have to come, I was fine with Alfred!" Lily said as she raised her voice
"Don't you yell at me young-lady,"
"You're not mom!" Lily shouted as Lynn flinched. Lily then turned around in her seat as she looked away from her, leaving Lynn hurt. Clenching her fist, Lynn stood up from the table and said: "I'm gonna make sure Jonathan's okay,"
"Fine," Lily huffed as Lynn walked away. Walking through the building, she found the bathrooms and entered the women's bathroom. Walking up to one of the sinks, she started splashed water on her face as she gritted her teeth "Who does that brat think she is? Saying I don't give two shits about her. I've given her anything she's ever wanted, I've spent time with her; even though I should spend more... so then why?" she whispered as she looked at her reflection, "Why is it that every time I try to do something for someone else... I JUST FUCK IT UP!" she screamed as she punched the sink, shattering it. Water spilling on the floor as she kicked the wall "Every! Single! Thing! I! Do! I! FUCK! UP!" Lynn said with every kick as there was a large dent in the brick wall. With one final kick, the bricks gained a spider web of cracks as she heard something rip. She then used the mirror to see what was wrong... and saw that her dress had split down, revealing her panties "FUCK! ME! GOD! DAMN-IT!" Lynn shouted as she punched the wall. After throwing her tantrum, she calmed down and straightened herself out. Trying to make sure the rip revealing her butt and panties wasn't noticeable, she stepped out just in time to see Jonathan coming out "Well, well, isn't this a surprise," Jonathan said, "I heard you from the other side," he continued, making Lynn blush
"Really?" Lynn asked
"Yeah... wanna talk about it?" Jonathan asked
"Maybe," Lynn said as Jonathan looked at a nearby waiting booth and sat down. Patting the seat next to him, Lynn sat next to him as he said: "Tell me, what's bothering you so much?"
"I guess... I would say that... I'm the problem," Lynn admitted
"You? Huh, this is something,"
"What are you talking about?"
"Well, most people that I've talked with say that someone else is the problem. By admitting that you're the problem... it takes some courage," Jonathan explained
"Yeah, I guess," Lynn said with a chuckle
"Oh it's more than a guess, it's a fact," Jonathan stated. He leaned forward while still looking at her. He hung his head as he then leaned back and said: "When I was a boy, I was afraid of many things. The dark. Monsters under the bed. You know, the usual things... but as I got older, I realized that being afraid was a good thing,"
"What? Why are you saying I'm afraid?" Lynn asked
"You're afraid of losing family," Jonathan said as he pointed at Lily, "you're afraid of losing her. I heard your little scuffle with Lily from the bathroom and from what I heard... Lily wants something she never really grew up with. You're afraid you can't live up to your parents' expectations... right?" Jonathan asked. When he looked at Lynn, she was frozen. She was shaking. But after a while... she nodded. Soon, a tear fell from her eye and down her cheek as Jonathan sighed and handed her a handkerchief. Lynn clenched her fists as she started to cry and blew her nose "Why? Why? How? What do I need to do?" Lynn whispered to herself as Jonathan wrapped an arm around her
"Lynn... it's okay to cry," Jonathan said as Lynn started to cry into his shoulder. Jonathan was patting her on the back as she cried. When Lynn was done crying, she looked at Jonathan and said: "T-thanks,"
"Hey, no prob... now I think our food's here," Jonathan said as he pointed to Ronnie walking up to Lily with food
"Yeah, you're right," Lynn said as she stood up, "come on," she said as she started walking. It was then that Lynn heard a whistle "Nice ass," Jonathan said as Lynn blushed. She tried to cover the rip but Jonathan got up and placed his lab coat around her, showing an orange turtle-neck sweater "Here, you need it more than me," Jonathan stated
"Thanks," Lynn said
"Think nothing of it,"
Later:
Lynn, Lily, and Jonathan were in the limo. Lynn still had the lab coat on as she sat crossed leg, Lily sitting next to Jonathan while Lynn watched the two playing Rock-Paper-Scissors. Lynn smiled as Lily lost "Aww, come on! Let me win!" Lily said as Jonathan laughed
"Alright, alright... I'll use my left this time," Jonathan said, causing Lynn to chuckle. The limo then stopped as Jonathan looked out the window "Ah, my stop," Jonathan said
"Did you enjoy yourself?" Lily asked
"Yes, yes I did. How about you invite me over some time, eh?" Jonathan asked
"Only if Lynn says it's alright," Lily said as she looked at Lynn
"Why not?" Lynn said
"Really?"
"Really,"
"Yes! How about next week?"
"Sure, I've got nothing else to do, how about lunch that day?" Jonathan asked
"We'll have Alfred make something, you up for the task?" Lynn asked as she turned her head to Alfred
"I've cooked for your family for years, Mater Lynn. The task you're giving me is no more difficult than breathing," Alfred commented
"Sweet! See ya later. And have a nice night you two," Jonathan said as he started to walk away. But before Jonathan took another step, Lynn said: "Hey! Your lab-coat!"
"Keep it! I've got 8 more in my closet!" Jonathan replied as they drove off. Lynn sat back down in her seat as she put her hands in the pockets. Lynn leaned back into her seat as Alfred asked: "So, how was it?"
"It was... great," Lynn replied
"That's just wonderful," Alfred replied as a smile was on his face. Lynn was searching the pockets when she felt something. She pulled out a bottle and read the front "Benzodiazepine?" she whispered, "Why would he need panic attack pills?"
