I hated clothing. It felt too restrictive, too modest. Modesty was for humans, not wolves. Yet here I was, dressed in black skinny jeans, a white shirt, with my light blonde hair in a high ponytail. I didn't wear socks or shoes, since that would be too much for my liking.

Lejner smiled when he saw me, dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt with no shoes like me. "Mom!" He ran over and gave me a hug. I smiled and ruffled his hair.

"Lejner, they didn't hurt you did they?" I crouched down and inspected his face and arms. Lejner pulled away.

"Mom I'm fine!" He rolled his eyes. "What about you? Did they patch your injuries properly?" I nodded slightly, the wounds nothing but a memory.

"Find everything okay?" A gruff voice asked.

I froze and stood up turning to look at the alpha. I still didn't know his name and he still didn't know mine, I wanted to keep it that way. "Yes, I suppose we did." I said coldly.

He leaned against the wall carelessly, looking at Lejner. "The other pups are playing in the main room if you want to go join them, Lejner."

Lejner snarled standing between me and the alpha. "Why? What do you want with my mom?"

The alpha looked unamused at the challenge. "I just want to talk to her."

Lejner narrowed his eyes. I just watched in amusement. "If you have anything to say to her it can be said in front of me as well."

The alpha looked at me and Lejner, his eyes narrowing."My office is this way, just follow me." He lead us down long hallways and up stairs. Everywhere we went I felt curious glances on me, following my every move. I grumbled about it under my breath. Lejner snarled at almost everyone who he caught looking at us. I kept my face in a permanent scowl, following the alpha until he stopped.

"This is it." He opened two double doors and revealed a whole library with a balcony over looking the actual office part. Crossing my arms, I raised an eyebrow, sort of impressed. Large windows showed the snowy forest below and let the sun in. He leaned against his desk and stared at me, watching my every move, taking in my stance. "What's your name?"

Lejner scoffed. "Nice first move. I'm sure you get all the ladies that way. I'm Lejner." I chuckled ruffling my sons hair. Big bad alpha didn't look too impressed.

"Refia." I don't care enough to ask for yours, I thought. Lejner grumbled under his breath.

I noticed the alpha pause after I said my name. It took him awhile to refocus, then he said, "I'm Aaron, sorry, it's just your name sounds familiar."

I tensed. That wasn't good. That wasn't good at all. Lejner sensed my wariness and stood in front of me, crossing his arms. "My mom's shouldn't sound familiar Aaron, we've been living in these woods for as long as I've been alive, so ten years, in human. I'm one and a half years old in wolf years."

"If you have a pup, where is your mate?"

Lejner snarled. "This sounds more like an interrogation then a conversation." Aaron and Lejner glared at each other while I tried to calm myself down. Why doesn't Aaron just stab me with his claws and get this over with? This isn't information he should need. My heart still hurt even though it was ten years ago.

"Why are you so nosy?" I snapped, ignoring my son's protests.

Aaron raised his eyebrows. "Is that anyway to talk to your alpha princess?" Lejner was about to lunge, but I caught him before he did. Aaron watched in amusement, as us both were about to loose our cool

I snarled. "Don't test my patience. The sooner I leave here, the better. Now if you'll excuse me Alpha," I did a little mock curtesy, keeping my eye contact. I walked out of his office and shifted into my wolf form which was more comfortable. Once again, I felt more stares follow me, and I growled to keep everyone at bay. Lejner ran by my side, acknowledging my annoyance, leaving me alone.

Dinner was interesting.

Lejner sat next to me glaring and showing his canines to anyone who dared to even look at me. Aaron kept his eye on us, to make sure we didn't do anything to hurt his pack. I glared at him once or twice, and he had the audacity to smirk and wink every now and then.

The table was full of the adults, mostly of the male species, and boy did they eat like crazy. I played with the rest of my food, changing my hand into claws stabbing them into the meat. Other wolves shot me wary glances, and when I would glare at them they would look away hastily.

I sighed and pushed my plate away, noticing that it was now acceptable for me to leave as others were starting to get up. I pushed my chair away and waited for Lejner to finish eating. He shoved everything he could in his mouth, and wiped his mouth with his sleeve.

"Ready to go to bed?" I asked, smiling softly, exhaustion taking over my body.

"You bet I am." Lejner stretched his arms and yawned.

Aaron came over looking at me. "My First Beta seemed to have abandoned ship, so I'll lead you to your rooms."

"Lead the way, Alpha." I said mockingly.

He lead us into the foyer which had a huge chandelier on the ceiling, and a balcony that overlooked the floor. The pack house was quiet, since only Aaron and his personal friends lived here. The other pack members lived in the houses outside of the pack house.

They lived more like humans then wolves.

"Does the room have any windows?" Lejner asked suspiciously.

Aaron grunted. "I believe it only has two. Why?"

"I'm used to sleeping in a cave. I don't like windows, it makes me feel vulnerable. So do clothes." Lejner was definitely tired, otherwise he wouldn't be blabbering.

"You two really roughed it out there then didn't you?" We stopped outside of a door and I looked at the Alpha.

I nodded. "It was for the best," I trailed off and shook my head. Aaron was watching me intently. I pretended not to notice and opened the door shoving Lejner inside the room. "Thanks and goodbye." I wen to close the door, but Aaron stuck his foot through.

Aaron narrowed his eyes. "My room is just across from the hall. Yelp if you need anything."

I frowned and Lejner growled. "I can take care of myself." I kicked his leg and slammed the door shut locking it.

Lejner and I looked at each other after we heard the alpha curse and was away. "Whoopee!" He pounced rolled in the sheets. I laughed joining him in the bed. "We actually have a bed!"

"Was the den not good enough?" I ask quietly.

Lejner paused. "Well, I will miss the den, but this is living in luxury, so why no enjoy it for a little bit?"

I managed to quirk a smile. "Sounds like a good idea." We both shift, Lejner curling into my side as we both fall asleep as soon as our eyes close.
