Prologue

Percy's POV (main 3rd POV for a good portion of this book)

Percy pulled the ring that he had made for his girlfriend: Atlantean silver, Celestial Bronze, and a new gem that Hades had conjured for him as the head of the ring. He walked back to camp after a three hundred mile long trek across a couple states and having to kill many monsters along the way didn't make it any easier. Once he finally got to camp he saw a small group of monsters lurking at the base of the barrier surrounding camp. He got out Riptide and rushed them rather surprised they didn't put up any kind of fight. They just looked him once and stood there frozen in shock it seemed. Maybe it was or it was something else but non-the-less Percy cut them down mercilessly before recapping Riptide and putting it, in pen form, back into his pocket as he walked into camp.

There was no one out in camp at all; not near their cabins or playing games like they usually did. Then Percy heard screaming, no cheering from the campfire area on the far side of camp and though it didn't make any sense to him he jogged over to it. When here Percy saw what the campers were cheering about; a blond haired girl hugging and kissing a brown-haired son of Aphrodite. Percy dropped the box he was holding in shock as he realized who the girl was, Annabeth. Then they turned and Annabeth saw him. She pulled away with a scowl on her face and then she pointed at him screaming

"TRAITOR!"

Switching POV

I was shocked, so shocked that I couldn't move until I felt the air around me being cut through, and I snapped out of it. I used the water molecules in the air and froze the arrow making it hit the ground early at my feet, but still too close for my liking. I turned and ran.

Why are they shooting at me I thought as I ran off with a heavy heart and I watched silver arrows sailing around me. A few of them I had to deflect with Riptide or they would've hit something important. I looked back once I passed the barrier, and I saw the hunters all stalking towards me with hunting grace and speed. I noticed Artemis wasn't with them and there was a flash of silver above me and I dropped to the ground and rolled out of the way before spinning and knocking Artemis off of her feet as her knives came down to where my face had been. Her knives sailed through the air and land one point in the ground next to her arm and the other hitting the trunk of the tree and landing next to her head.

I didn't wait for her or the hunters to get out of their shock and begin the chase again, and I had ran first. I ran so fast the the trees were a blur. Then I felt a pain in my calf as an arrow penetrated the skin and I tripped over a tree-root. Sailing through the air and hitting my head on a tree before blacking out. I came to and heard the sound of yelling and leaves crunching; I quietly, quickly sat up and clenched my teeth before breaking the point of the arrow and pulling the rest out. The Fledglings were plastered to the shaft from my blood and my leg was bleeding profusely, so I used the water in the air and gathered it on my leg to heal it. Then I climbed up the tree that I was laying on and watched as the Hunt sped past. I quietly went from branch to branch using the arrow-head as a leverage to keep me up in the tree.

Thanks for reading and I'll have another chapter out soon, bye
