Chapter 14

I looked around at them and saw all of their shock filled horrified faces as I finished.

"Wait so you're telling me that you're a half mortal, half god person that has been in two wars to save the world, and now you're...this" Gazzy said and I nodded, they all looked down for a moment and then Max and Ari stood up at the same time, and they looked at each-other strangely and then Ari came over and put his hand on my shoulder.

"It's going to be fine though, right" he said "their going to want you back...right?"

"Yes, when the third war comes to bit them in the butt, but I have other duties to attend to. Protecting you" I said "after all you're the only people who've actually treated me like family in a long time" it had gotten quiet Really fast in the cave, too quiet for me. I stood up and spread my wings, stretching them out and I realized that they were all looking at me feet, not my wings or body, but my feet...what could possibly be interesting about that.

"Why don't you have shoes on" Iggy asked and I sighed and then I came forwards and stepped into the fire. It couldn't hurt me anymore, but they all still gasped in surprise. The fact that I had stepped into the fire was I guess a shocker, but their eyes remained wide as they saw how my legs were formed. My feet-claws dug into the hot coals and I shifted uncomfortably. Angel came up and put a hand out towards the fire, and I let it part so that she woiuldn't be harmed, and because I knew that she wanted to touch my legs.

Her hand brushed up and down against my fur and I stiffened at she got higher and higher, to my waist and then she met with my skin just above my hips.

"Why does it go up so far" she asked and I shrugged

"Curses are very strange, they don't like following patterns, or being predictable, so that's just how it turned out" I said my black, obsidian skin shown in the fire-light.

"Is that why your skin is that color" Max asked and I growled in agreement "is is reversable"

"No" I said "and if it was, I wouldn't want it changed"

"Why" Fang asked appearing from where he had disappeared after seeming lost in thought

"Because if I was normal again, I wouldn't be able to run, fight, or shift" I said "those three make up what, no who I am" they seemed to understand this because I saw them each look at each-other.

"Back when you were human, would you have wanted to become a, a--" Nudge couldn't say it for fear that it would hurt my feelings.

"A monster?" I said looking at her and she nodded sheepishly "there's no shame in saying that" I stepped out from the fire and back into the darkness, out of Angels grasp, and she had gone back to Max and sat down next to her.

"There's no shame in saying it" I said "I have to face it, I am a monster, but back when I was a Demigod, yes I would've avoided turning into a monster for as long as I could, but I'm not a Demigod anymore, heck I'm not even a human anymore" I walked to the entrance of the cave and I let the evening light shine on me.

"But as your guardian. I have to protect you" I said "so get some sleep. I'll stay up and keep watch" I went over to the cave-wall and sat against it, letting my wings fold against my back as I lay against them and the cave wall.

Soon everyone's breathing was level, except for one's.

"Angel I know you're still up" I said and I looked over and her small form stood up and slowly came over to me. Once she was at my side, she sat down against the wall as well and I extended a wing out to cover her body. They were just that big.

"Can't sleep" I said and I looked at her and she shook her head and lay on my shoulder, and soon her breathing slowed and I smiled as I realized that she was finally falling asleep. I watched as the day turned into darkness, and nothing had decided to drop in and say hello, or try and take over the cave. Nothing, and though it was calming, I was still suspicious, and alert in case something did decide to show, and something did, but it wasn't something that I knew, Blackjack.

Hey boss he said looking at my red eyes, and coming over.

"Stop calling me that" I growled quietly, and he just whinnied and drew closer "what are you doing" I watched him lay down next to me and put his head on my lap.

I had a long flight boss, you're hard to track he said and was asleep in a couple seconds.

"Great" I growled and I stayed up for the night resuming my watch, not like anything else was going to come. If Blackjack had a hard time tracking him, and he was the best, besides Mrs. O Leary. Then nothing was going to find us, but I didn't want to, or need to sleep since I was a Primordial, but I could sometimes...just to regain my energy back quickly.

Thanks for reading and I'm really really sorry y'all, but I am really losing hope in this story (as in I can't determine the right mood set in which i need to write this story). I'll try to update, but no promises...not for a while.
