Ari's POV

I woke up with a shock and felt something cold under my hands; I looked down to see that I was on-top of a large pile of bodies. I stood up and jumped off landing at the bottom thirty feet below without a sound, and I went for the door at the end of the bodies about a hundred feet away and I started to run over to it. The floor under me seemed to be getting hotter, and about halfway to the door I realized that it was getting hotter, and I noticed the flame-throwers in the walls and the smell of gas was so strong that it was getting harder to breathe. I reached the doors just as the flame-throwers activated by using my wings and flying there for extra speed and I had just opened it, stepped through, and closed it behind me before the weapon pointed it's direction at the door and the flames smothered everything from sight. 

I looked up and was two guards looking at me in shock and fear, and I smirked at them before quickly dispatching them. Then 'hiding' their bodies at a table making it look like they were sleeping on the job, which a-lot of them did. I took their keys and made my way to the Directors room, and when I got there I used the key, opened the door, and it slid open soundlessly to reveal the necklace was stupidly off of her neck and on the table next to her. I made sure it had no traps before smiling and taking it thinking that, that was too easy. Then I made my way to the Flocks cell that I had passed on my way here and I had met with two Eraser guards before they had two slit throats, curtsy of me. One had a large cut in his throat, and the other had a bloodied dagger in his heart as well as a wide cut in their throat. I took the less messy one's key and disarmed the door and the fields surrounding their cages. Then I quietly opened the door and looked at their sleeping forms with a smile on my face, mainly Max, and then I saw a flash of red eyes and I looked over to see that the boy-creature had, somehow, quietly cut a square into the top of his cage and was now on-top of it. I looked at his claws and winced as I felt how sharp and deadly they were the day before. That was him only giving me short, shallow scratches and not large, painful gashes. 

He jumped off of his cage and started to stretch causing pops and cracks as his bones fit back into place, and I winced. That must've hurt, but his voice snapped my out of my thoughts. 

"You should unlock them now instead of marveling at their sleeping forms" he said and I unlocked their cages making them stir, and I did Max's cage last making it screech loudly and she immediately tackled me and put her hands on my throat, but it was interrupted by a flash of red eyes and she was held in the arms of the boy as he held her back. After a minute of struggling she seemed to recognize who I was and after the boy let her go and I was on my feet again she slammed into me in a hug and I hugged her back and then I felt more weight crushing me. There was a large screeching making us shiver and a loud bang echoed through-out the room. 

"You are free to go" the boy said and then came over to me "but first you have something I need" and held out his clawed hand. I took the necklace out of my pocket and put it in his hand as a shake and I thanked him. He went to the far side of the room by his cage and stepped into it again, and sealed the broken part somehow, and I went over as soon as I was away from Max and gripped the bars confused. 

"What are you doing" I said and he smiled holding the jem in his hand before doing something and a piece of paper appeared on the floor in-front of him. He set the jem on it and them a plume of fire came from his hand and he burned them both till the stone was a bubbling mess of molten rock and there was a glow from the ash and molten rock and then it faded and the boy started to glow, and he sighed and looked at me. 

"Thank you for following through on our agreement and your promise, and I shall keep mine after I kill these mortals" he said and pointed to the ceiling "now leave before everyone wakes up, I shall be dragged out of my cage in the morning and questioned about you, and then...then it's going to get ugly and very bloody. Trust me you do not want to end up as a wolves' snack now do you?" he said and I shook my head and motioned for the others to follow as I shot through the hole and into the night sky, the others followed shortly behind and Me, Max, and Fang lead the way to who knows where. They eventually asked me questions and I answered each and every one of them with long explanations and eventually Fang and Max dived down and another hour later everyone was quiet in our new home, a cave, then Max spoke up. 

"Why did the boy stay behind" she said "he let us free, and he got what he wanted, right?" and I nodded

"He had one thing left to do, and advised me to make sure we aren't there when it does happen" I said 

"Why" Gazzy asked " why wouldn't he want us there"

"Because a-lot of people are going to die and he's going to be the reason why" I said an everyone shivered a little at what we've already seen him do

"It's going to be a massacre" Max said and moved to the mouth of the cave "we have to stop it" 

"No!" I was surprised to find that it was Fang that yelled and went to intercept Max "no, we are not going to stick our necks out and try to save bad people just because we're, ironically, more human than them" 

"Yeah Fang's right Max" Nudge said coming up and taking her hand "if he wants to kill everyone there, especially the Director, the one who started this whole mess in the first place, then I think we should let him" and there were several agreements and Max slumped in defeat, and I looked at the ground in guilt. 

"But what about the other experiments" she said "shouldn't they be free'd too" 

"Yes, and if there's more people like us there, then I think that he'll set them free and provide an escape for them like he did for us" Angel said "but from what I saw and heard, there were no other experiments there, and if there were...then they may already have been dead long before we got there. Plus it's not like we could stop him anyways." The rest of the time was silent as we all sat on the edge of the cliff watching the sun rise.
