Luz Noceda, The Fighter Opening: Believe in Myself Cover By NateWantsToBattle (I do not own this song)
Luz stands before the cliff over the boiling sea next to the owl house, letting the wind blow through her hair and clothes.
Believe in myself
And my dream this world
It will never end
Luz lifted her hands up, looking at her glyph gloves before she clenched them into fists, gaining a looking of determination.
I'll chase it
I'll speed up!
Speed up!
She activated her fire glyphs and slammed her fists together in a flash!
I'm running faster
Chasing what's in front of me
Now I'll just believe in myself
Luz is now walking through Bonesborough, thinking of her life.
You light my fire
Your touch ignites
The flames in my heart
Makes me want to feel your emotion
Her life on Earth, lonely and full of anger with the only person by her side being her mother, Camila.
Whatever will be, will be
How our hearts are crashing waves
And our souls are vast like an ocean
Her life in the demon realm however, was full of adventures, close friends, and love with Eda, King, Gus, Willow, and Amity by her side.
With the strongest tides we'll drown our sorrows
In a dark void, Eda and Lilith side by side while facing a shadow silhouette of the owl beast, pointing their glyph gloves at it.
Take my hand and tell me
Are you ready to play fair?
Luz and the Golden Guard stood on the battlefield, ready to fight each other!
Believe in myself
And my dream this world
Luz blasted towards G.G., throwing a punch and a kick that he dodged before he jumped into the air.
It will never end
Golden Guard fired a barrage of red energy blasts at Luz, creating a smokescreen!
I'll chase it
I'll speed up!
Speed up!
Luz jumped from the smoke and punched at Golden Guard, clashing her fist against his staff!
Believe in myself
You're not alone now
A transparent silhouette of Luz was running as she passed by all the friends she made (Eda, King, Willow, Gus, the Blight twins, Boscha and her crew, the Human Appreciation Society, the dual track students, and Amity).
And our future is near
It's coming
Luz was now running past a line up of her enemies, the Emperor's Coven (including Kikimora and the Golden Guard).
Let's speed up!
Speed up!
The ultimate enemy rose like a giant, Belos, with his eyes glowing before lightning flashed before him.
I'm running faster
Chasing what's in front of me
Luz was back at the cliff near the owl house, sitting as she looked up to the moon before Amity walked up to her.
Now I'll just believe in myself
She sat down next to Luz before holding her hand, gazing at the moon with her.
(Warning, certain events in this chapter connect with Multiverse Madness ch. 17)
After a bit of rest from the portal imploding, Luz say in the den of the owl house with her three friends around her. She had spent most of the day explaining her little adventure from a few hours ago.
The new dimension she discovered, the unique way to view into realms, the basilisk that may or may not be her new sister, and her reinforced determination to make a new portal.
"And after that, you guys pulled me out and the portal imploded." Luz said, finishing her story. "Any questions?"
"Um.....YES!" Eda shouted as everyone looked shocked from this story. "HOW IN TITAN'S NAME DID YOU SOMEHOW END UP IN A PLACE BETWEEN REALMS?!"
"You think I know? I just followed the recipe from the book inside of Jerry." Luz said, reminding them of her echo mouse. "Next thing I know I'm floating on some dark yet shining liquid. I don't know how dimensional traveling works... don't bring up my multiverse adventure, I still don't know how that works either."
King and Eda shut their mouths.
"But what about your dimension suit? Could it get back to the realm between realm?" Hooty asked.
"I have no idea but I don't want to find out right now." Luz said, shaking her head.
"Well, I think there's been enough crazy for today, why don't you go hang out with your friends?" Eda suggested, wanting Luz to leave so she can drink to cope with all the info.
"Maybe tomorrow." Luz said as she got up. "Right now, I just wanna eat something and take a nap."
"Well, alright, Luz. You do you, kid." Eda said with a nod.
Luz walked into the kitchen, opening the fridge to final ANYTHING that looked edible and just eat it before she took her nap.
'Eyeballs? Eh, sure why not.' She thought, shrugging.
Luz grabbed the jar of eyeballs and walked to the stove, planning to boil or fry them to make them taste better. She's become fairly used to some of the food here, so cooking it should be easy.
'Too bad we're out of griffin eggs, I could make myself an omelet.' Luz thought, using a frying pan and cooking oil to fry the eyeballs. 'Oh well.'
Luz shrugged and kept cooking, adding some spices to make the eyeballs smell heavenly to her.
'Thank god, these aren't human eyes. Or else that is where I would draw the line.' She thought, continuing to cook until it was done.
Though it did make her wonder what those tasted like.
After she was finished cooking them, Luz put the skillet fried eyeballs in a bowl and grabbed a fork.
"Time for mama to eat." Luz said as walked upstairs with her food.
"Can I have some?" King asked, smelling the food and rushing to catch up to Luz.
"No, it's mine. Sorry, buddy." Luz said, eating as she walked.
"Awwww." King groaned.
Luz entered her room and damn near passed out the second her ass hit the sleeping bag.
'Damn, I'm more tired than I thought.' Luz thought, almost dropping her food before she ate more of it.
Before she knew it, she was out after swallowing her food and her leftovers were to the side, half eaten in a bowl. Something King took advantage of as he sneaked in while Luz slept and took to finish himself.
As she slept, Luz had strange dreams. Dream about the "In Between" realm, about someone there watching her without her knowing it. It was enough to make her toss in her sleep.
"Mmmm. Mmmm." Luz groaned in her sleep.
Before she knew it, she was awake, breathing heavily and alert.
The alarm on her phone going off a second later, making Luz jump as she gazed at it and look at the time.
'I-It's the next day?' Luz said, turning her gaze towards the window in her room and seeing the sunrise.
After a few minutes of calming herself, Luz got up to get ready for the day. She showered, got ready for school, and then decided to make a video log to tell her mother more about what she's been experiencing in the demon realm. Even if she can't send them, Luz could save them and show them all to Camila when she found a way home.
That would... hopefully help show her the Isles without having to explain so much.
Opening her phone and switching the camera to video, Luz pointing it at herself before recording.
"Hey, mom, it's me. I don't know how long it will be until you see this but I just wanted to show you some more of the demon realm and help introduce you to it a bit more. Maybe someday, you'll like it as much as I do." Luz said with a small smile, still trying to figure out what to say.
'Okay, just calm down and think. This is fine, just be honest and speak from the heart....also edit it afterwards just in case.' Luz thought before taking a breath.
"This world is full of amazing things if you know where to look. You just have to be open to seeing things from a different perspective." Luz said before bringing the phone to the window of her room to look outside.
Revealing a Hooty skeleton drying his skin... sadly not the strangest thing Luz has seen.
".....I'm going to have the edit that out." Luz said before turning off her phone and shouting out the window. "HOOTY, PUT ON YOUR DAMN SKIN BACK ON!"
"I JUST WASHED IT! IT NEEDS TO DRY, HOOT!" HOOTY shouted back.
Luz groaned as she shut to window and walked away.
'Maybe taking a walk around town could help.' She thought.
Luz left the owl house before beginning the video again, showing herself walking through town.
"The town is full of cool places and cool people." Luz said, before seeing someone ahead. "Such as... oh Boscha!"
Boscha was looking at a stand before turning to Luz, surprised to see her.
"Morning, Teach. What are you doing here? And why is your human scroll out?" Boscha asked.
"I'm just making a small video diary for my mom. And I thought I'd introduce her to one of my kickboxing students." Luz said before showing herself in the camera with Boscha. "Mom, this is Boscha, a bully turned Friend. Tell her about yourself Boscha."
"Well, I don't mean to brag about it but I am Hexside's star grudgby player and top potion track student." Boscha said with an arrogant smile.
"If you can't tell she likes to brag." Luz said, grinning.
"It's not bragging if it's true. It's stating facts." Boscha said before getting an idea. "Oh! Check this out, I've been working on this for class."
Boscha drew a sleep circle before putting both hands inside, pulling them out and lighting them on fire.
"Tada! My own fire fists!" Boscha said with pride.
"Um, that's cool but doesn't that hurt?" Luz asked.
"Pfft, no. It's my own magic fire, it's doesn't burn the user." Boscha said.
Boscha threw a punch, then another, and then a third, which made her accidently shoot fire at a stand. The two looked at each other.
"Run?" Boscha asked.
"Run." Luz said before she and Boscha ran away from the stand as Luz turned off the camera again!
'And that's another part I'm going to have to cut out!' Luz thought as they ran all the way to Hexside.
Thankfully, by the time she stopped running, she arrived at Hexside before the late bell.
"Woooh! Now that was a work out!" Luz said before opening her phone again and going back to recording. "Okay, mom, how about I show you the place I've been learning magic?"
Luz showed the corridors of Hexside, letting everything and everyone in the halls be caught on camera.
"It's just like the way books describe a magic school and more. Not only that but it's one of the safest places to practice and learn magic." Luz said before showing Principal Bump. "And here is our Principal himself, mind giving a few words, Mr. Bump?"
Bump smiled, happy to help one of his best, if not most destructive, students.
"Certainly. We deeply care about our students, we make sure everyone is happy and safe, in fact, we just renovated our detention pit!" He said before gesturing to the pit
Luz gave a blank expression as she turned off the video, not even bothering to turn as a student was being dragged to the detention pit by a trouble sniffer.
"I'm innocent, I tell you! Innocent!" He screamed.
'I think that's enough video for now.' Luz thought.
-One day of school later-
After a full day of school, Luz walked out and groaned as she sat on the steps.
"School here is exciting but it's just as tiring." Luz said before hearing her friends walking behind her.
"Hey Luz, we wanted to ask you something." Willow said as she and Gus sat around her.
"Anything to take my mind of everything that just happened... but if it's about a fire in the market, that was Boscha's fault." Luz said quickly at the end.
"A what in the where, now?" Gus asked.
"Not important! Willow, your question?" Luz asked, turning to Willow.
"Oh okay. Luz, we just wanted to ask what was Belos like in person?" Willow asked.
"Annoying?" Luz said, a bit confused by the question.
"Annoying?" Gus asked. "Why would he be annoying?"
"Aside from always spouting "the Titan's Will" or something like that? He's sort of a condescending asshole." Luz said, remembering how much he underestimated her when they first fought. "Also, he tried to kill me, Eda, King, and Lilith. I don't have very high opinions on him."
"Okay, I guess that's something to make you sour of him but I still think he's a good ruler under that." Willow said.
".....You can have your opinion and I can have mine." Luz said before she felt someone kiss her cheek.
"Hola, botata." Amity said in Spanish?
"Did... Did you just call me a sweet potato?" Luz asked with a small giggle.
"Sweet potato? I thought it was a compliment. Gus said this book was from your culture." Amity said, pulling out a Spanish to English book.
A COOKING book to be exact.
'Gus...' Luz thought, glancing at the "human expert."
He just clicked his teeth as he gave two finger guns to Luz.
"Uh, that's a cook book." Luz said, pointing to the book.
"A cook book?! Gus!" Amity shouted at him.
"Hehehehe it's fine, Amity. It's still sweet." Luz said before kissing her cheek. "If I'm your botata, you're my Malvavisco (Marshmallow.)"
Amity opened it and looked for whatever it was that Luz just said.
"Malvavisco means marshmallow. What's a marshmallow?" Amity asked.
"Something fluffy, sweet, and oh so irresistible." Luz said, pulling Amity close by the shoulder.
'Oh my titan!' Amity thought as she blushed brightly.
"A sweet potato and a marshmallow? Those things go together?" Willow asked.
"Of course. It's the perfect combination of a sweet potato's tangy yet somewhat tough texture with the sweet, hidden goodness of the marshmallow into a delicious meal for everyone." Luz said as she pulled Amity close. "But not this one, she's all mine."
Amity blushed even brighter from this but she didn't deny that sounded wonderful.
'I'm her sweet Malvavisco!' Amity thought.
Suddenly, Luz stood up and stretched a bit.
"Well, I should probably get going." Luz said to them.
"Already?" Amity asked with a pout.
"Yeah. Eda said she wanted to do something after school, so I gotta go." Luz said.
Luz started to walk away, and that's when Amity noticed that she left her phone.
'It must've slipped from her pocket.' Amity thought, picking it up and see it was unlocked.
It would be wrong for her to invade her girlfriend's privacy.....but maybe a peak wouldn't hurt. It was a situation she didn't want to ever be in but it was fine if it was someone you trusted, right?
As Amity was looking over the video, Luz was flying through the sky with Eda and King on the former's staff.
"So, since portal one was a failure, what's next?" King asked.
"We keep trying with what little Titan's Blood we have left." Luz said, looking ahead. "We have to get it working eventually."
"And we will kid. Don't worry. Before you know it, we'll be meeting your mom and she'll love us." Eda said.
'I hope we do or else I'll be stuck here and Mom will be devastated.' Luz thought.
The trio landed in the market and noticed Coven Scouts all over the place.
"Whoa! Is there a manhunt going on?" Luz asked.
"Ugh, worse." Eda said, rolling her eyes. "It's the annual Coven Day parade."
"Annual Coven Day Parade?" Luz asked.
"It's just a dumb way to kiss Belos' ass." Eda said, spitting to the side.
"Yeah, pretty much. Every float is dedicated to him, streamers fall all around in the Emperor's colors, and a fireworks is on display to top it all off after his speech." King explained.
"Ugh. Sounds horrible." Luz said.
Speaking of horrible sounds, Luz heard a shrill shout as she turned around to see Kikimora in an alleyway and talking in her scroll.
'Oh great, it's her.' Luz thought.
"Mother, please listen to me. I know I- Yes! I am standing up straight but just listen to me." Kikimora said, standing up straight.
Luz smirked at the sight of this, she had to hear about this. Luz pushed the invisibility glyph and held her breath, moving closer towards Kikimora as she kept talking with her mother.
"Mother, please understand. I do want to join the family in Palm Strings but my job requires me to be here right now." Kikimora said into the scroll before gasping in horror. "What?! Mother, you can't mean that! Please!"
'Oh, this is getting interesting.' Luz thought.
"Mother, please! This job means everything to me, I can't just take a break and- No! I'm not saying that! I just-" Kikimora said, becoming more emotional as tears came o her eyes.
It almost made Luz feel sorry for her at seeing the normally calm lackey turn into a stuttering and crying mess.
'God damn you, my conscious.' Luz thought.
"Mother please! J-Just listen to me!" Kikimora said before the call ended, her mother having hung up on her. "Mother? Mother?!"
Getting no response, Kikimora shook as she looked at her scroll before crying. Her whimpering filling the alley as she fell to her knees. Not wanting to see the tiny demon cry, Luz inhaled to become visible and walked over to her.
"Yo, tiny, what's wrong?" Luz asked.
"Aaah!" Kikimora screamed from her appearance. "Human?! Where you come from?!"
"Not important. I just wanted to know what's up? You alright?" Luz asked.
"I-i-it's none of your business!" Kikimora said, looking away from Luz.
"I know it's not but still, I'm concerned." Luz said.
"Why?!" Kikimora demanded from her.
"Because we all have mother issues, some more than others, and it's always good to have someone to talk to." Luz said, recalling her own slightly resolved issues with her mother and Amity's SEVERE issues with Odalia. "So, come on shortie. Share your woes."
Luz sat down next to Kikimora and patted her thigh as a gesturing for a "shoulder to cry on." Something the small demon took literally as Kikimora started crying and leaned against Luz.
"M-M-My mother s-said that this years f-family reunion is being h-held in Palm Stings b-but it's on the s-same day of the Coven Parade!" Kikimora said, stuttering and crying. "B-But I can't-can't ignore my duties or I'll be fired! B-But if I don't go, mother says I'll be banished from the family home!"
"Ah, this type of situation." Luz said, tapping her lips. "My uncle had this situation happen before."
"H-h-how did he figure it out?" Kikimora asked her.
"He quit and then died in a car accident on the way there." Luz said, blankly. "But you know, I don't think that's going to be helpful here."
"Actually...hearing that makes me feel a little better." Kikimora said, sniffling a bit as she wiped away her tears.
'Of course it did.' Luz thought, rolling her eyes in her mind. 'You love nothing more than the suffering of other people.'
"Look, if you want my opinion, just talk to "Emperor Bel-boss" about some time off and if he doesn't, just got and face the consequences later." Luz said to her.
"Are you mad?!" Kikimora shouted in shock.
"Honestly? Maybe." Luz said before getting up and leaving Kikimora to think.
Luz didn't really want to help Kikimora much, after all, she did try and kill her a couple of times. But still, it was the good person inside of her that wanted to at least comfort the suffering little witch-demon. No matter what.
"There you are, kid. Where were you?" Eda asked as she and King were a private eye stand in the market.
It was run by a ghost and titled "Inspectergator," giving people the assumption that the ghost was a private detective that was scary good at his job.
"Doing something that will probably bite me on the ass later." Luz said blankly.
"HA! That's my girl!" Eda said, punching Luz's shoulder.
"You would know about that, Eda. You know, considering your crush on Raine." King said, nudging Eda's leg.
"King, SHUT UP!" Eda shouted at him.
"What? I'm just saying, you wrote a LOT about them in your diary." King said, grinning.
"And you read my diary?!" Eda shouted, blushing.
"Wait. You still have a diary and you're over 40?" Luz asked, confused.
"Shut up, or I ban Boots from the house." Eda said.
"Boots?" Luz asked.
"Your pink haired girlfriend." Eda said.
"She called Amity that when we got the Titan's Blood." King said.
"W... what happened that day I was sick?" Luz asked, confused on how this name came to be.
"I'll tell you later." Eda said as the ghost private eye handed her a folder. "Thanks."
Eda paid him as she opened the folder, gazing at various papers and photos of her lost/still crush. Raine Whispers.
"What'cha got there?" Luz asked, looking over Eda's shoulder.
Eda hip checked Luz, knocking her back.
"None of your business." Eda said.
Luz fell backwards into a trash can and felt something lay on her side. She sat up and looked at it... it was an old shield. Luz's hands started shaking as she remembered... a certain issue in one of the dimensions... a painful issue. Eda and King looked a bit concerned.
"Kid? You... you okay?" Eda asked, concerned from her expression.
Luz didn't say anything as she remember every bone being broken and reshaped by someone that was practically a god. She was knocked out of her "Nam Flashback" by Eda shaking her.
"Luz? Are you okay?" Eda asked.
"I... yeah... yeah I'm good." Luz said, standing up.
"You sure, because... I've seen looks like that." Eda said, showing concern. "Does it have to do something with your... multiverse dimension trip?"
Luz just looked down, giving Eda all she needed to know.
'She must not have told us EVERYTHING from that crazy ride.' Eda thought.
"Kid, if you still need to talk about it-"
"I know, I know. I just..." Luz said, glancing away and looking at the shield. "Need a bit more time, okay?"
'I may have nightmares from that, but... I did make a good shield.' She thought as a new idea came to mind. 'Maybe I could make a glyph shield or something here... without all my bones being broken and reshaped.'
Luz shook her head as she stood up and looked back to Eda.
"How about this? I tell you what I did before coming here and you tell me what's in that folder. Deal?" Luz said, not mention the shield she was thinking about.
"Deal!" Eda said, shaking hands with Luz. "Now why don't we get home, before you have another episode like that?"
"Sure." Luz said before her stomach growled. "Actually, let's talk over lunch."
As the group left for the closest restaurant, Kikimora was alone by a parade float as she thought about what her mother said over the raven.
'What can I do? How can I choose between my family and my job? If I lose either, my life is over!' Kikimora thought.
"Snail for your thoughts?" Someone said.
Kikimora got a bit startled as she looked up to see someone gazing down at her.
"Oh, Coven Head Raine." Kikimora said, calming down after seeing it was just them.
Raine chuckled at her reaction, kneeling before Kikimora with the a strange horn shaped cup at their hip.
"I've never seen you so jumpy before. Whatever you must have in your mind, must be very serious." Raine comments with a grin.
"It's nothing just some... family issues." Kikimora said.
"Really? I didn't think you had a family." Raine said with a grin.
"Well, I do! I'm not completely heartless!" Kikimora shouted at them, offend.
Raine just gave Kikimora a look, even tilting their head in confusion of Kikimora not being "completely heartless."
"Don't give me that look! You're not different with that cowardly facade you used to give off!" Kikimora shouted at them.
"That was no facade, I just finally gained confidence. But that's beside the point." Raine said, sitting next to Kikimora. "If you want to talk about your family troubles, I'm willing to listen."
Kikimora thought about it for a second. If she could talk to a human child about this, why not an adult witch?
"Do you promise not to laugh?" Kikimora asked.
"Have you ever known me to laugh at someone else's misfortune?" Raine asked.
"No." Kikimora said.
"Then share your woes and I'll listen. I mean, who better for you to talk to than me?" Raine asked.
"Hmmm. Fair point." Kikimora said before taking a deep breath and just blurting it out. "My mother told me that if I don't come to the family reunion this year, then I won't be part of the family anymore."
"...Okay, that's not good but I'm sure she'll understand if-" Raine was cut off.
"She doesn't care about my job." Kikimora added, shocking Raine greatly.
"Really? I thought anyone would love to have a child in the Emperor's Coven as a high ranking member. Even one that's close to the Emperor." Raine said.
"You would think that but what could I do? My mother always says that family comes first. Above EVERYTHING!" Kikimora shouted, throwing her hands up. "Nothing else matters! Not my personal life, not my job, or the thought of me becoming a wild witch if I'm fired!"
"Now, now, let's calm down. Has she ever shown that you matter greatly to her?" Raine asked.
Kikimora thought about it for a moment, thinking back to all the times her mother did support and love her for little in return. She could count the times when she asked Kikimora to be selfish and ignore the family on one hand. On one three finger hand.
"Yes, she does." Kikimora said.
"Then I'm sure if you just talk to her some more, you can reach some common ground." Raine said before they groaned, rubbing their forehead. "Oh... my head."
"Something wrong, Raine?" Kikimora asked.
"There you are!" A new voice said.
Kikimora and Raine turned to see a new witch walking towards them, an elderly witch with wrinkled, ivory skin, and long, green hair that resembles plant matter or vines. She also has pale, violet eyes and wears dark green lipstick.
This was Terra Snapdragon, the oldest Coven head. She's been around since before Belos rose to power.
"Ms. Snapdragon!" Kikimora said, standing at attention.
"Hello, Kiki dear. Don't mind me, I'm just here to bring Raine their medicine. They've been having awful headaches as of late and Belos assigned me to look after them." Terra said, carrying a pitcher of warm mysterious "medicine."
Raine smiled at this as they opened their horn shaped cup and let Terra pour the warm medicine inside. They sighed in relief before blowing on it, almost like they were whistling to cool it off, before drinking it.
"Aaaaah. Terra, you are gem." Raine said in relief, their headache gone.
"I don't want someone as talented as you to get sick again... it was such a nightmare when you passed out in that Coven Head meeting." Terra said.
'So that's the cover story?' Kikimora thought, knowing that the "coven meeting" wasn't a coven meeting.
Whatever, she didn't really care, she had her own issues to worry about.
"Anyway, what were you talking about with Kiki?" Terra asked as she looked at Kikimora.
"Personal matters! Nothing important!" Kikimora said quickly.
Though Terra was one of the oldest coven heads, she was also one of the scariest. Terra chuckled. She loved it when people got nervous around her, it showed she could still intimidate witches even in her old age.
"If that's the case, allow me to borrow Raine so we can finish our preparations for the parade." Terra said as she helped Raine up.
The two Coven heads walked away, leaving Kiki to falls back to her butt and sigh as she was left with her thoughts.
"What am I going to do?" Kikimora asked, putting her hands on her face.
"Maybe you can help us and we help you?" A voice said, making Kikimora look up.
"Eberwolf? Darius?" Kikimora asked, surprise to see two more coven heads standing over her.
"We need to know something and if you help us, we'll help you with your problem." Darius said.
As Darius and Eberwolf talked with the curious Kikimora, in a restaurant and having lunch, Luz had been given the full story of what happened between Eda and Raine during the Glandus Cup.
"Damn, and here I thought you were just drunk in the bathroom." Luz said.
"Funny but this is serious." Eda said, taking a sip of her drink. "And ever since, I've tried contacting Raine to see if they're okay but it seems like they've ghosted me."
"Ghosted? You know how it use that term?" King s asked.
"I'm not THAT old!" Eda said, glaring at her son.
"Ignoring that and knowing you're not that old, do you have any other ideas outside of stalking them online and with a private eye?" Luz asked Eda.
"I don't know. Maybe if I can just get ONE moment to talk with them, I could see what's going on with them." Eda said, tapping the table.
"Mmmmm. Maybe you could." Luz said, rubbing her chin.
"How? They're doing the parade tonight. Security will be tight." King said.
"It won't be IF we have someone in the INSIDE that could help us." Luz said with a grin.
A grin that Eda found very worrying as she frowned blankly at Luz.
"Oh don't tell me-" Luz cut Eda off.
"I have an idea." She said.
"Oh no." Eda said with a groan.
"Trust me, it'll work." Luz said.
"That's what worries me." Eda said.
"Maybe it will be good?" King questioned.
"First, it involves talking with Kikimora." Luz said.
"And it's not good." Eda said blankly.
"Just hear me out." Luz said, "If not, I can crush you under my foot like an ant."
Luz lifted her leg, reminding them yet again, that it has a magic enhanced metal bone.
"Oh yeah. I keep forgetting about that, sure." Eda said, shrugging.
'I'm gonna need to bring the Glyphing Gun if things get messy.' Eda thought.
Now Eda, kind of wanted for things to go bad just so she could use the glyphing gun on someone.
After a bit, they began to understand Luz's plan, but... it was also still pretty dumb... especially if she has another episode like when she saw the shield.
"Now we just need to find Kikimora and convince her to help us." Luz said as the trio left the restaurant.
"She could be anywhere by now." King said, riding in Luz's hoodie.
"Well we have to spread out then if we can't to find her." Eda said.
"Excuse me." Kikimora said, waking up to the group.
"Huh, that was easy." King said.
"Yeah, it's almost like we're in a CB(Crystal Ball) show or something." Eda said.
"Maybe a fanfic." Luz joked.
"Are you two done spouting random words or can I speak?" Kikimora asked them, remaining them she was here.
"Go ahead, we wanted to speak with you too, so this works out." Eda said, crossing her arms.
"I... see." Kikimora said before clearing her throat. "Anyway, as painful as it to admit, I need help."
"What kind of help?" King asked.
"Help with my...family situation. I've decided I'm going to be with my family in Palm Stings." Kikimora said, professional.
"And you're not worried about losing your job like before?" Luz asked her.
"I no longer care about that." Kikimora said.
"Really? But you told Luz it was your entire life. Why the sudden change?" Eda asked.
"Let's just say, I have someone to cover for me. Now, about getting me to Palm Stings." Kikimora quickly said.
"Let's go talk about this somewhere privately." Luz said, gesturing Kikimora to follow them.
Kikimora nodded as the four of them left of for another area, not seeing two hidden faces watching them from the shadows.
"The plan has begun." Darius said, glancing at Eberwolf. "We better hope it works."
Eberwolf nodded as they held up a red Ruby necklace.
-Hours Later-
With Luz and the others, Luz had a new shield in hand and trying to not have another panic attack at just looking at it. Why did she have it? Because she felt she was in need of stronger glyph weaponry than just her gloves and Eda's glyphing gun.
Plus, it could be great for defense... it was a shield for crying out loud, that was their main function... she would know, she made a good one.
'I really need some therapy for that.' She thought, making sure the glyph prints she put inside of the shield were permanent. 'Not putting my face on this one.'
"Luz, you ready?" Eda asked, the Glyphing Gun in hand while her staff was in the other.
"Yeah, I'm good." Luz said with a deep breath as she put the shield on her right arm.
All four glyphs were above her arm, so she could push them like buttons easily and without anyone seeing what she picked.
"Where's King?" Luz asked.
"He's getting ready for his part with Hooty." Eda said before walking up to Luz. "Just to ask again, are you sure we can trust that little gremlin?"
"No, but that's why I'm with her for this part of the plan. I can easily kick her ass if she tries anything." Luz said.
"I hope so, kid." Eda said.
The two of them left the room and the owl house, heading towards the parade route.
The plan was simple: distraction, confrontation, and extraction.
Distraction: Hooty and King would distract the crowd and guards.
Confrontation: Eda would pull Raine away from the parade and confront them.
Extraction: Luz would work to get Kikimora out of the town and to her finger dragon so she could head to Palm Stings.
Surely it wouldn't go to all hell.
-30 minutes later-
"Alright, here we are." Eda said, landing in a random alley by the parade. "Now, where is that little gremlin?"
"I am right here." Kikimora said, coming from behind a dumpster and wearing a cloak.
"Oh. Sorry you're just so easy to miss." Eda said.
Kikimora rolled her eyes as she walked up to them.
"Everything is prepared on my end, is it prepared on yours?" Kikimora asked Luz.
"Locked and loaded." Luz said with a nod, looking at the parade. "King and Hooty just need to wait for the signal."
Now came the fun part as Luz saw the upcoming float.
"Eda... launch the fireworks." she said.
Eda nodded before pulled out a crow phone and calling King and Hooty.
"Boys, light it up." Eda said with a grin.
Inside of a parade float that looks like Belos, Hooty and King were piloting the distraction as they finally got the call!
"You got it, mom!" King shouted before he and Hooty pulled down in a lever inside.
Fireworks were launched, and it seemed to be nice and fitting with the parade.
"Huh?" Raine let out, turning to the fireworks as they looked up as well.
The fireworks then spelled out, 'Belos? More like boo-los!' With a thumbs down next to it as people gasped from shock.
"What in the Titan?" Raine muttered with a blank expression.
"Um, should we go investigate that, Kikimora?" Some Emperor's coven member asked the driver of Raine's float.
"What do you think you're here for? Of course go investigate!" Kikimora shouted, pointing to the fireworks.
The guards then ran off to investigate.
Behind the float, Eda was invisible thanks to the invisibility glyph before they took a breath.
"Damn, that glyph is good but it's a bitch." Eda muttered quietly.
Now came the easy part, kidnapping Raine.
'Not the first time, and will not be the last.' Eda thought.
Using her own glyph glove, Eda pressed the plant glyph to make a little vine rope to help her. Eda then jumped up and wrapped it around Raine, even covered their mouth to keep them quiet.
"HMMM?!" Raine let out in surprise before being pulled to Eda.
"Sorry about this but we gotta talk!" Eda said quickly before using another invisibility glyph, turning them both invisible.
And no one was the wiser. Well, all except one woman.
'Raine is missing and Kikimora is oddly calm? Something is amiss.' She thought before she decided to investigate.
Meanwhile, in another alley, Luz and Kikimora were following a map towards the harbor where the finger dragon was waiting for its master.
"Sounds like the distraction is working." Kikimora said.
"If there's one thing we're good at, it's causing a lot of chaos." Luz said.
"RUN ! RUN FROM YOUR GOD!" Hooty screamed with a loud thumping sound being heard.
"Yes, it seems you all are." Kikimora said, adjusting her cloak hood. "Just so you know, this is only a one time deal to see my family. After this is over, it's back to business."
"I assumed as much but I'd rather call this a favor for the future. And in case you try anything." Luz said before right-side kicking a wall, cracking it with a crater. "... Don't."
Kikimora shivered at the sight of this kick, making her clear her throat quickly to try and keep her brave front.
"O-Of course." Kikimora said.
"Good. Now come on, let's go." Luz said, walking ahead.
Kikimora nodded before her ears picked up on something, making her gasp.
"Someone is coming for us!" She said.
"What? Who?!" Luz asked.
"I can't-" Kikimora then shivered in place, hearing something rumbling and slithering. "Oh no. It's HER."
Suddenly, multiple vines came from the ground and rushed at them!
"Get back!" Luz shouted, moving in front of Kikimora and holding her shield in front of her while pressing the fire glyph on it.
The shield began to heat up and burn bright as the vines crashed into it before they ignited and turned to ash in seconds.
"Impressive shield for a pair of criminals." Terra said, stepping into the light with her arms behind her back.
"Terra Snapdragon!" Kikimora whispered in shock, hiding behind Luz.
"In the flesh." Terra said with a grin before she looked at Luz. "So, you're the infamous Human I've heard so much about."
"And you're the plant coven head I'm just know meeting." Luz said, still holding up her shield. "What do you want anyways?"
"Oh nothing, I'm just here to capture the little trouble makers that have disturbed the Coven Day Parade." Terra said, making more vines grow with sharp bards. "Due surrender peacefully. I'd rather not someone so...entertaining."
"Well, then you must not know me if you think that'll happen." Luz said, pressing the ice glyph (left glove) and fire glyph (right glove).
Luz created a ball of ice and a ball of fire in her hands, slamming them together to create a large cloud of steam!
"Whoa!" Kikimora let out as Luz scooped her up and ran!
Hearing her run, Terra smiled as she waved some steam out of her face.
"Fine then, I'll play." she said before she snapped her fingers and sent the briar thorns through the steam.
She wasn't even aiming, she was just randomly shooting and hoping to skewer them. When the steam cleared, he thorns were stabbed through the concrete ground while Luz and Kiki were gone.
"Clever girls." Terra said before using plant magic to be consumed by a flower and dragged into the ground.
Meanwhile, Luz had Kikimora on her back and running as fast as she could.
'Ugh, why couldn't this leg make me faster too?' Luz thought with a frown.
"Go faster!" Kikimora shouted, looking back to see vine spikes growing and following them!
"I KNOW BUT I DON'T HAVE A SPEED GLYPH!" Luz shouted at her but she was feeling her heart speed up.
Adrenaline was running through her body as she ran a bit faster, missing some plant spikes growing under her feet!
"Run faster!" Kikimora said.
"You could help with some fire!" Luz argued with her, running into the streets and making the spikes follow! 'Really wishing someone like Eda or Amity was here right now to help!'
Almost like fate, an abomination tendril lashed out and grabbed Luz plus Kikimora, pulling them into the air and on top of a building across the street.
Luz looked up, seeing a cloaked person with their hood up before they pulled it down to reveal-
"Amity!?" Luz shouted in shock.
Aside from the cloak, Amity was wearing her abomination armor from Grom night again.
(Alter Saber from Fate Stay Night)
'Wow. I forgot how good she looked in this.' Luz thought, blushing a bit before shaking her head.
"What are you doing here!?" Luz said.
"Apparently, helping my girlfriend father causing some strange incident in the parade. Now hurry and get up." Amity said, pulling Luz and Kikimora to their feet. "We're getting out of here."
"How?" Kikimora asked.
Using a spell circle, Amity used more abomination goo and made a giant pair of wings on the back of her abomination armor.
"Whoa?!" Luz said in surprise and awe.
"Where to?" Amity asked before picking up Luz and Kikimora.
"T-The docks." Kikimora said, pointing the docks.
Nodding, Amity made the wings flap and fly off the roof towards the docks.
"So, care to tell me what the hell is going on?" Amity asked.
"... No." Luz said, blankly. "I know how you are when you're angry."
"Then you shouldn't make me mad by not telling me." Amity said before looking at Kikimora. "And I don't know why Luz is helping you of all people, but it better be for a good reason."
"It is, I swear on the Titan it is!" Kikimora said, showing her fear of the young Blight.
"Okay, okay. Don't drop her. I'm helping her get to a family reunion." Luz said.
"That's why you made the coven day parade into a disaster?" Amity asked, not expecting something this simple and small.
"I also wanted to help Eda be alone with Raine Whispers to talk to them." Luz added.
"Have I ever told you that you're insane?" Amity said, blankly and low toned.
"No, I don't think so." Luz comments.
"Then I'm saying it now! You're insane!" Amity shouted, flying faster.
"I'm still your girlfriend." Luz replied, grinning.
'This cannot be how young couples are these days.' Kikimora thought before glancing down for any signs of Terra.
Thankfully, there didn't appear to be any for now.
Coming upon the harbor, the trio could see Kikimora's dragon was waiting for her.
"Down there!" Kikimora said, pointing to her dragon.
"We're almost there." Luz said, grinning.
'Things on our end are almost complete. I wonder how things are going for Eda.' Luz thought.
With the owl lady herself, she had brought Raine to an empty, cube like alley way and created a plant wall so they could talk in private. Only to find out that Raine didn't feel like talking and claimed they had never seen Eda before now, their earliest memory of meeting with her being the day they broke up.
"I'm going to give you one last chance, Owl Lady. Let me go and I'll consider not harming you." Raine said, their violin out and ready to fight.
'Not even calling me by my name? Now I KNOW something is wrong!' Eda thought.
"No, Raine. I'm not going anywhere until we talk." Eda said, pulling out her Glyphing Gun and loading it with a roll of fire glyph TP.
"Fine then." Raine said, ready to play.
Eda frowned but remained firm, quickly starting the leaf blowing engine before she put two fingers on the ammo TP roll and turning it into a stream of flames!
Raine quickly playing a magic musical notes, creating a beam of sound and clashing with the flames!
BOOM!
The clashing and exploding magic knocked them both back, with Raine's back hitting the stone wall of the alley while Eda's back hit the plant barrier she made.
"Ugh!" Raine groaned, quickly recovering and playing rapidly to create a cloud of lightning!
Eda quickly used her glyph glove and created an ice dome, protecting her as lightning struck.
"That dome won't last!" Raine said, continuing to play/fire lightning.
"Maybe not, but it will last long enough." Eda said, before using another invisibility glyph.
Once the ice dome gave out, Eda quickly and quietly moved from the former dome as Raine looked around for her.
"Where did she-" Raine was suddenly tackled from behind.
The violin was knocked out of their hands as Eda wrestled them to the ground!
"RAINE! Listen to me! I don't know what they did to you but you have to remember!" Eda said, moving Raine to their back and holding their arms over their head.
"Get off me!" Raine said, before whistling and knocking Eda back.
"UGH!" Eda let out, landing on her ass.
Eda looked up and saw Raine reaching for their violin, quickly using her glyph glove's plant glyph to stop them with vines!
"Raine, please! You have to remember! We helped free Wild Witches! You made the Bards Against the Throne!" Eda said to them.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Raine said, denying this.
"Stop lying! I know you do!" Eda shouted at them.
"I am not lying!" Raine said before taking a deep breath.
Acting quickly, Eda moved to hold both their hands together while reaching into her hair for a tape recorder.
"Then tell me you don't remember this song!" Eda said, about to push play.
'No! Not that!' Raine thought before using their legs to knock the recorder away and using their boots to snap the vines.
They rushed to grab their violin and stood back up.
"What does it matter?!" Raine shouted before playing a loud note.
Eda quickly put up an ice shield against the music as Raine fired more notes, breaking it bit by bit.
"Because I know how you act, this isn't you!" Eda said as she saw the tape recorder close by.
Eda lunged for it as the ice shield was destroyed, making Raine prepare to play/fire more notes before Eda hit play on the recorder. They froze when the music played, the exact same music that played when Eda and Raine first played together against Darius and Eberwulf. How Eda got it? It didn't matter, because it seemed to reach Raine as they hesitated to attack Eda more.
"Please... let me help you." Eda said, frowning sadly at Raine.
Raine grit their teeth as they looked away, lowering their instrument a bit.
"I don't know what that is." Raine said.
"Don't lie to me-" Eda was cut off by a glare.
"Like you had for years?" Raine snapped back.
"...That a low blow, Raine. And coming from you, it's even lower." Eda said, looking down and shutting off the recorder.
"It's the truth and you don't get to play that card with me. Not after all the lying you did." Raine said.
"I DIDN'T LIE TO YOU! I wanted to protect you!" Eda shouted.
"What difference does it make?!" Raine shouted back.
Both of them fell silent by this, not speaking, attacking, or even looking at each other.
"... Go... now." Raine said, making their instrument vanish.
"...And if I don't?" Eda asked.
"You know the answer." Raine said, seeing the glyphing gun to the side.
Still not wanting to fight anymore, Raine walked towards the strange weapon and picked it up before taking it to Eda. They pushed it into her hands.
"If you get caught, there won't be anyone to help you escape this time." They said.
".....Same to you, then." Eda said as she put the weapon in her hair and pulled out her staff along with one last invisibility glyph. "Let's go, Owlbert."
"Hooo." Owlbert said as Eda got on and flew off, becoming invisible along the way.
Eda was gone now and Raine was left alone in the alley way as the vines trapping them were burned down by coven scouts, who finally found them.
"Head Witch Whispers, are you alright?" One scout asked.
"I'm fine but the criminal got away." Raine said with their back to them, not showing a tear running from their eye. "Search the area, they couldn't have gotten far."
'Stay safe.' Raine thought, keeping their gaze at the wall. thought.
With our other heroines, Luz, Amity, and Kikimora made it to the finger dragon.
"When you get to Palm Stings, tell them a small friend helped you." Luz said to her, helping Kikimora onto her dragon.
"Joke aside, thank you. Despite being on opposite sides, I will not forget this." Kikimora said as she grabbed her dragon's reigns.
With a snap of the reigns, Kikimora flew away and left the two young girls on the dock.
"That... was almost too easy." Luz said, feeling a wave of relief wash her tension away.
"Oh, Luz... you... dropped this." Amity said, holding out Luz's phone.
"My phone!" Luz said in surprise as Amity gave it to her..
"Yeah and I'm sorry but you seemed to have left this video open." Amity said, making Luz wince a bit.
"Oh, that." Luz said, scratching her head and feeling the tension returning.
"Is... is everything okay?" Amity asked.
"I...I honestly don't know but I just didn't want to worry you." Luz said to Amity.
"Luz, when you don't tell me what's wrong, that DOES worry me. I know you want to make a portal to get home but you don't need to do that all on your own." Amity said before putting up a finger to stop Luz from replying immediately. "And having just Hooty, King, and Eda to help doesn't count."
"I know it's... I'm not used to people actually wanting to help just because they like me." Luz said, putting her phone away. "I was one of those people that others were either weirded out by, or were afraid I would break their arm."
"Another thing we have in common before you came here, huh?" Amity said, joking a bit.
Before another word could be said, the dock started shaking and both knew that this wasn't a good thing.
Soon, large flower petals bursted from the pier and unraveled, revealing Terra as she sat on a leaf for a stool.
"How cute, it's nice to see young laugh sharing past trauma these days." Terra said with a smile.
"Terra Snapdragon?!" Amity said in shock.
"What are you doing here?" Luz asked, moving in front of Amity.
"Oh, nothing really. I just came to capture the ones responsible for ruining the parade but it appears one of you got away." Terra said before shrugging. "Oh well, at least I still have you two to turn in."
"We're not going anywhere with you." Amity said, making the abomination wings turn into four tendrils with fists on the ends.
"Oh, that's cute... you think you have a choice." Terra said.
With a snap of her fingers, multiple vines rose up and began lashing at them!
"DODGE OR BLOCK!" Luz shouted as they both began to block or evade the vines.
Luz, using her new shield, deflected as many as she could while moving quickly to dodge others. Amity did the same with her armor, but used her tendril fists to try and fight back.
"Hmm... you two are quite powerful for your age." Terra said, watching and impressed. "This will make things much more fun."
Terra made the vines lash faster, making the two of them move faster as they were slowly being overwhelmed!
'If we don't think fast, we're gonna be lashed to death!' Luz thought, trying to use her fire glyph but too overwhelmed to do it as she kept blocking/slamming away vines with her shield.
"Come on, dearies. The fun is just beginning." Terra comments.
"No! It's ending!" Amity said before she was hit in the chest and face!
"AMITY!" Luz shouted, before being knocked back.
Amity was now being targeted by all the vines as blood came out of her nose as she was attacked by more vines, breaking her armor as she tried blocking!
'Too much!' Amity thought before he was hit in the abdomen, losing all of her air before she was uppercut into the air!
"Amity!" Luz shouted as Terra chuckled.
"That's one." Terra said as Amity was wrapped in vines, flicking her hand and slamming the wrapped up Amity into the cobblestone behind her.
"GUH!" Amity grunted, spiting up some bile.
Hearing this, Luz dropped her shield and clenched her fists, pressing all glyphs at once.
"Get your vines off her." Luz said softly, allowing herself to be lashed by vines but remained standing.
"Oh, someone's got a bit of will in her... I look forward to breaking it." Terra said with a dark chuckle.
Luz growled as she slowly marched forward, not stopping as her fists began to glow brightly.
"Hmm?" Terra hummed from the glowing.
'She's planning something. Not to mention her threshold for pain is rather impressive for someone so young.' Terra thought.
Her fists were glowing brighter and brighter as two rainbow orbs formed around her hands!
'Puños Brillantes./Shining Fists!' Luz thought before punching the air twice, launching the orbs.
The two blasts made the vines break, making Terra gasp in surprise.
"Oh my!" Terra said before making a giant, thick leaf shield.
The shield was hit, but she was knocked back.
'Now this is more like it.' Terra thought before seeing the shield slowly wither yet freeze and break apart, revealing that Luz had vanished.
"Wait, where is sh-" Terra was punched in the side from an invisible Luz.
It was much stronger than normal because Luz also activated her power glyph while invisible.
'You hurt my girlfriend." Luz thought with a mental growl before punching Terra in the chin! 'And NOBODY hurts my girlfriend when I'm around.'
Luz didn't care if she was an old woman, she sided with Belos and that means she was an enemy that deserved an ass kicking as she threw a barrage of jabs at Terra without taking a single breath yet.
Despite the beating Terra smiled as blood ran out of her mouth, she hasn't had a REAL fight in years.
"Heheheheh. Now this is fun!" Terra said before being punched in the stomach again!
'There! Terra thought before throwing a backhand, missing Luz but it was close.
Moving back and grabbing her shield, Luz thrusted her shield at Terra and slammed it into her chest. The coven head stumbled back as she held her chest, allowing Luz some literal breathing room as she allowed herself to breathe.
'How is this old woman so sturdy?!' Luz thought, breathing heavily and visible again.
"Impressive, but you're just a human, a weak child." Terra said, smiling as she licked blood from her lips.
"I am anything BUT weak!" Luz shouted, glaring at Terra as she was riled up from that comment.
"Oh I doubt that." Terra said, dusting off her dress. "You're nothing but a weak, pathetic, HUMAN."
Letting out a small gasp, Luz took a step back as her vision was blurring and she saw that Terra was becoming someone else.
Someone MUCH worse.
Instead of an old woman that used plant magic, now standing before Luz was a woman in red armor and a black body suit. With a matching cape flowing from her back.
'No...you can't be here! You can't be!' Luz thought, tightening her grip on her shield as she began shaking a bit.
"Oh? What's the matter, girl?" Terra mocked, seeing the human shaking. "Are you too-"
Terra was surprised when Luz threw the shield at her, leaning to the side as it nearly took her head off. Terra turned back, just in time for Luz to throw a strong punch at her jaw, before throwing several more punches at her stomach.
'Ugh! She's not pulling her punches anymore!' Terra thought as she grabbed Luz's arms to stop her.
But the human pulled and headbutts Terra in the chin before throwing a flying knee into her stomach!
"GUH!" Terra said before Luz grabbed her and did a Judo throw, sending her to the ground.
Running to her shield, Luz picked it up and went to slam it down on Terra's head. Flat, not sharp sided.
"UGH!" She groaned, her nose broken and her teeth feeling loose.
'I... I can't keep up with her in this state.' Terra thought.
Luz didn't stop as she kept bashing Terran's face in! Almost seeming like she was going to KILL her if someone didn't stop her!
'Luz!' Amity thought in shock and horror, seeing her girlfriend in a bloodthirsty panic as she felt the vines around her loosen.
Using what little abomination goo from her armor, Amity cut herself free and rushed over to Luz to stop her.
"Luz!" She shouted before pulling Luz off Terra.
"Let me go! She has to die!" Luz shouted, struggling.
"No! I know she's bad but you can't kill her!" Amity shouted, hugging Luz from behind.
Seeing the chance to escape, Terra pushed herself up as best as she could.
"Hehehehe, you win child. But I look forward to our next meeting." Terra said as she used plant magic to create a giant flower to swallow her up and take her away.
"ATHENA!" Luz shouted in rage, still struggling as her worst "enemy" escaped.
'Athena?' Amity thought, confused on who this "Athena" was.
But that could wait, she needed to calm Luz down before she did something she regrets.
"Luz, Luz, look at me!" Amity said, forcing Luz to turn around and grabbing her face to look her in the eyes."It's okay! It's okay!"
Luz gazed into her eyes, slowly calming down as she let her shield drop and clank against the ground. Luz even started to feel tears in her eyes as her emotions were in turmoil right now.
"I-I-I didn't mean-" Luz stopped as she shut her eyes, letting her tears hit the ground.
Amity pulled her close and hugged her.
"It's okay. Everything will be okay." Amity said, gently rocking Luz back and forth.
