Thirteen
After getting what I wanted, I hesitantly went downstairs and to my relief, they weren't there. My mind immediately thought of them in his bedroom. The happiness I had been feeling left my body and got replaced with sadness. I hated how I wasn't feeling nonchalant about whatever Ethan does but I blame my feelings for him. It has been years since we dated yet I was still attached to a fucking playboy. A fucking bad boy who did nothing but break hearts over and over again while lying that he cared.
Feeling too uninterested to do anything, I went to the kitchen and got myself a bottle of water. I chugged half of the bottle down and leaned against the marble table in the middle of the kitchen. I gripped the bottle hard until it rumpled in the middle. I heard footsteps and schooled my features. I waited to see who it was and when Macy walked into the kitchen, I felt the urge to punch her in the face.
"Hey, sister." She stood beside me and grabbed an apple from the table. "Did you enjoy the show you saw?"
I gripped the bottle again, which caught her attention, making her laugh.
"Girl, your husband is so good in bed, I'm sure you know that, right?" She teased and bit out of the apple. "The way he moaned and fucked me hard had my legs shaking."
I bit the insides of my cheeks as I started feeling like I was going to cry. Sometimes, I wondered what I ever did to my sister, someone I was related to, for her to do this to me.
"It's sad to see you like this but overtaking is granted in this game," Macy said and left the kitchen.
I leaned against the table once again and just let myself cry. I couldn't blame myself for being teary. I was weak, emotionally and psychologically. A lot of things happened lately that left me vulnerable and I needed the tears to spill for me to feel better.

I was sitting in the living room when out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ethan walking down the stairs. He paused when he saw me before approaching me. His presence annoyed me, making me pray he wasn't here to talk.
"Angela."
How wonderful. He was here to talk.
"When did you return?" He asked.
The question made my eyebrow rise on its own. I blinked and turned my head to look at him. He looked like he had just woken up; his hair was disheveled, his eyes narrowed from sleep and his clothes rumpled. I rolled my eyes and looked back at the television in front of me.
"Why didn't you ask your lover that?" I asked in a stern voice.
"What are you talking about?"
I rose to my feet and faced him. He eyed my body in confusion before backing away.
"Did you come here to rub it in my face that you had fun?" I demanded and he blinked. "Look, you're free to do whatever you want and I don't care. When you're doing your business, do it where I won't see your disgusted self."
I wanted to walk past him but he held my arm and stopped me before standing directly in front of me. I looked at my feet and tensed when he cupped my chin. I tilted my head out of his hold and yanked my arm out of his grip.
"What did I do now?" He asked.
I was about to tell him when the door opened. I smiled when I saw Josh walk in. I looked back at Ethan for a second before meeting Josh at the door. He smiled down at me and I wrapped my arm around his. I glanced at Ethan and found him glaring at us.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"We're heading out. Why? Is there a problem?" I shot at him, and he stayed speechless before walking back upstairs.
"You called. Did something happen?" Josh asked and I shook my head.
"I just wanted to see you," I said in a soft voice and he smiled wider, making him appear more good-looking. "You have a nice smile."
Josh flushed. "Stop, silly. Anyway, where do you want us to go?"
"Anywhere you want," I replied and he nodded.

We were at a park, sitting on the grass that overlooked the river upfront. The place was a bit packed with people jogging, and people with their children or pets playing around. The cool breeze and the rustling of the tree we were close to giving me a sense of calmness.
"Josh," I said softly and looked at him. "Thank you."
"Hm?" His confused expression was cute, making me giggle.
"You were the one who helped my mom, right? You paid for my mom's treatment when I told you that you didn't have to. Even though I did, I'm so glad because I needed help at that moment. You have no idea how grateful I am," I said and held his hand.
Josh smiled while staring at me with a soft hue in his eyes. He laced his fingers with mine and raised our hands to his lips. He kissed the back of my hand and I chuckled.
"I'll do more for you," he said and I nodded.
"Thanks," I said and my smile dropped.
"What's wrong?"
"It's your cousin... I saw him with my sister a few hours ago."
We were silent for almost half a minute before he placed his hand on my back.
"Do you have feelings for my cousin?"
I didn't know how to respond to the question as I always answered it to myself only.
"No, I don't. It just annoys me how my sister would hurt me like this with someone I just got married to. Ever since our family crashed, everything just broke. Our bond and love vanished. It's like we now live with strangers," I said and wrapped my arms around my waist. "My sister wants Ethan and me... you know what? Let's forget about this."
Josh's hand moved to the back of my neck and caressed it, which comforted me. I looked at him and found his eyes on my lips. I felt uncomfortable with his stare as I didn't like him like that. I knew where his mind was and I needed to make him understand a few things.
"So... got a girlfriend?" I asked, snapping him out of his daze.
"Girlfriend?" He repeated then laughed.
"Oh, come on. There's no way a man like you could stay without having a woman... or are you into men?"
We laughed and he started to tease me.

After spending some time with Josh, I stayed with mom until later that night. I returned to Ethan's house when mom persuaded me to go home. When I reached the front door, it opened and Ethan stepped out of the house. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me away from the house to a motorcycle parked beside one of his cars.
"Let me go," I said and he pulled me to him.
"We need to talk," he said and pushed a helmet into my chest.
"I'm not talking to you. I'm going inside to sleep. I have no business with you," I said and turned to leave but he grabbed my arm and pulled me against his body.
I gulped at our proximity. I could smell his scent and feel the muscles of his body through the thin black shirt he was wearing. His face was dangerously leaning closer to mine with his rosy lips parted and his eyes darkening.
"I've had enough of all these problems between us," he said in a gruff tone. "I told you that I won't let any man or woman come between us. I will do everything to make you mine."
Before I could speak, he kissed me and I sighed, missing the feel of his lips and accepting the warmth his body and kiss brought.
