{35} And That's Why He Didn't Want Him In The Room

He's been a mess all day.

A day ago, he had no idea who Cate was. Now he's everywhere Addison goes. The bathroom, next to this locker, even the library.

Every time Addison spots him, he feels a rush of ire running through him.

Earlier that day, when he finished  using the restroom, Cate stood at a sink, earphones in and face blank. As said multiple times before, his school isn't the best when it comes to quality. And Cate just happened to be blocking the only usable sink in the bathroom.

"Excuse me," Addison murmured, but he was too busy on his phone. "Cate."

The boy looked up, and for a second, Addison swore he glared. Cate took out one of his earbuds and gave him a questioning look.

"You're blocking the sink."

"Oh...Sorry, I just thought you could have used one of the other five sinks in here." Despite the boy's innocent smile, his words seemed a little satiric. Addison can detect an attitude at any moment, and Cate's was revolting.

"Well, I guess you were wrong."

The shorter boy's face went through a load of emotion in just seconds. He started by glaring as if he were trying to scare Addison away. He then scowled as if he had offended him somehow. The last look gave Addison a mix of emotions himself.

The boy's lip quirked up into a smirk, and for the first time in the 48 hours that Addison's known of his existence, he didn't seem too harmless.

Cate's "innocent" front returned. He slid past Addison and walked out of the bathroom, but not before giving him one of his sweet smiles.

Fucking psycho.

...

"It's your jealousy getting the best of you," Eve remarked with a mouth full of pizza. "You were probably just imagining the whole thing."

"What makes you think I would imagine that?" Addison sat across from her with a frown. "He smirked at me."

"Ok, so the guy gave you a friendly smile. What's wrong with that?"

That smile was anything but friendly. It made him uneasy, especially when he knew Cate was in his bedroom, doing god knows what to Oliver.

"He looked like he was going to kill me or something!"

Eli came in from the kitchen and scoffed, "Cate Wilders is everything but a murderer, trust me. Maybe he just feels intimidated by you and Oliver."

"Why would he feel that way?"

"Because the whole school knows you guys sleep together," Eve responded. "It's obvious."

"We do not sleep together."

"Whatever you say, Addison. But either way, it's a rumor that's been going around for a while now. So I'm pretty sure Cate's heard it."

If that were true, then Addison could be Cate's hit list, "Oh my god, he's going to kill me."

Eve shook her head and threw the empty pizza box in the trashcan. She emptied it in less than 10 minutes. How do you manage to do that? "I want something sweet." She frowned.

"You can have me," Eli smirked.

"No!" Addison interrupted. "She can't! Stop being a horny fuck and get Eve a cinnamon roll from the back, Eli."

The boy frowned but complied, giving Addison a chance to ask Eve the question that's been on his mind for a while, "Are you pregnant?"

"What?!" Eve gasp. "What the fuck, Addison? No!"

He let a breath of relief, "Ok. Just making sure. It's that healthy relationship weight isn't it?"

"Are you calling me fat?"

"No! Of course not. I was just pointing out the fact that you've been really," Addison paused to find the right word, "...Hungry."

Eli came back with three cinnamon rolls. "Here." He grinned. Addison tried to grab one, but was slapped away, "These are for my girl, bro. Get your own."

"You know, now that I take a good look at you two, you look a lot alike. Have you thought of taking a DNA test? Just to make sure you're not going all, 'Sweet Home Alabama' on me?" Addison questioned with a pleased grin.

"I hate you," Eve grumbled.

"I love you too."

...

Oliver's car was the only one in the driveway when he drove up to his house. That meant Cate was long gone. Right?

A soft smile made its way onto his face, things were looking up.

He walked into the house and threw the bag down, startled at the sight of Gabe and Autumn cuddled up on the couch. Gabe slowly lifted his head and shushed him, "She's asleep. Shut the hell up."

"I didn't say-"

"-Shhhhh!" He laid his head back down and wrapped his arms tighter around Autumn's still body.

Other than the quiet murmuring of the tv, that they were obviously no longer watching, the house was silent. Maybe he could apologize to Oliver, and they could hang out. They haven't properly hung out in a while.

Well, if you want to call two days a while.

Either way, he doesn't like how they left things earlier, and now that Cate was gone, they could talk alone.

Addison made his way upstairs and into his room.

But the moment he turned the corner he felt his stomach churn with disgust. Or was it anger, he's pretty sure it was anger.

His room door was wide open, actively showcasing Oliver on top of Cate. Kissing and touching him, thank goodness they weren't undressed, he didn't think he could handle the sight.

Standing frozen, he watched Oliver do what he had just done to him a few nights ago.

His hands caressed the boy's thigh and his lips were tightly sealed to his.

Cate's soft moan was a signal that should look away.

But before he got the chance, Cate's eyes slowly locked with his.

The younger boy kissed Oliver back almost disgustingly hard, watching Addison through the corner of his eye the whole time.

Addison grimaced, instantly feeling uncomfortable and almost violated in a way.

Cate grinned upon Oliver's lips and slowly drew back, "We have company." He whispered.

Oliver's head snapped to Addison, eyes wide and lips swollen, "Addison-"

"-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt."

The two sat up and adjusted their clothing. Addison tried his best to avoid Cate's gaze, but the boy wouldn't stop staring. He smirked at Addison before turning to Oliver, "I should get going. Thank you, Oliver, for this. We got a lot done."

"Yeah of course." Oliver began packing up his things for him. Right before the boy left, Oliver grabbed his hand, "So about what I asked you earlier..."

"Yes, it's a yes." Cate peeked at Addison and grinned, "I would love to go on a date with you, Oliver." The boy threw his backpack on his shoulder and kissed Oliver on the cheek. "Hi, I'm Cate." He set his hand out to shake, which Addison instantly avoided.

"We've already-"

"-I have to go now. Nice meeting you, Addison."

Why did Cate act like they didn't meet just five hours ago?

Cate's gaze lingered on him for a few seconds before he hurried downstairs and out the front door. Leaving Addison shocked and honestly a little frightened.

IIIIIIIIIIIIII
