TALE 2- Forever Is Not Ours
Forever Is Not Ours
TIME: TOMORROW
"What?" Abigaile said as she chose to deny what the police officer said.
"Do you know him Ma'am? We need someone who can be with him and your number was his last call."
"I know him."
"Are you on your way?"
"Yes."
"Don't you need the address Ma'am?" He asked.
"No. I know exactly where you are."
She reached there soon enough. Speed was not a problem for her. She never cried and this scene didn't give her the means to cry. Yet she knew she should. Her nature wouldn't let her. Anger rose in her towards him. Although, there should be no blame on him in such a state. Abigaile looked down at the body. His face was towards the dirt and his body didn't respond to any touch. He was rushed to the emergency and Abigaile was in the ambulance hoping he'd live. There were so many machines attached to his fragile body and Abigaile didn't like it one bit. She knew he couldn't die but she would sure scream at him when he woke up. Planning to go easy on him was probably best, she thought.
She didn't want to lose him even though she did.
Within minutes at the hospital, he was pronounced dead. It was a sick lie. Yet the flat line wasn't a joke. It was real. She wanted him back. She wanted the nights they'd fought back. She wanted him and his everything that came along. Abigaile couldn't believe it. People like him and her didn't die. It was considered impossible. Only the High Court could wreak death among her people. She knew exactly what he'd done. Death was usually the last and most unused measure.
If that had been the cause there was nothing that could possibly be done. Bringing him back to life would mean in a different form. Abigaile liked him just the way he was. She wanted no different. If he was to be gone forever, she would too be gone forever. They had extremely wrong deeds that God wouldn't forgive because of their upbringing. Abigaile Ryle would end herself. At least she would see him again in the one place they belonged.
Hell.
Yet she didn't know that dead boy of hers resided in someplace better because of her. If she killed herself that would be a wrong doing and her seat would be vanished.
His ghost would come to her, he promised himself. He wanted them to have forever. She'd saved him and now he would save her. And make her come to him when the time came. They would reside in a paradise with gold paved streets in their death states.
Heaven.
TIME: TODAY
The curtain sheets were burnt brown. There were originally mocha. They'd changed though. Ty's smoking had burnt the bottoms and a few spots on the carpets bared the ashes. Neither Abigaile nor Ty cared.
Ty woke up and yawned. He immediately reached for a cigar. Taking the lighter out of his pocket, he lit the cigar. He inhaled a long drag and exhaled the smoke out. He stared at Abigaile and she smiled. She wouldn't do anything to please anyone. Yet her love for him was enough to persuade her to do all she could for him. Ty and Abigaile didn't do serious relationships.
They would make each other happy at night. That was the arrangement. Self confidence boost through sex, which was wrong. They both knew it. Abigaile kept taking slow sips from her mug. Her yellow tea was still burning hot. Just like always Ty knew his coffee laid on the kitchen counter top. Her green eyes bore into his dark ones. She wanted more of him than he was willing to give anyone. In truth Ty loved Abigaile dearly.
They'd once professed their love for each other and soon regretted it. Abigaile and Ty seemed to share a similar brain and each thought on back to that specific memory.
Abigaile was about to undress. Her lips reached Ty's. Ty quickly wrapped his muscular arms around her and brought her in closer. He was in deep for her and her for him. His tongue licked the roof of her beautiful mouth. She let him control her. She hooked her arms around his neck.
All she wanted in a man Ty had given to her in all. She hated not being at his side.
Ty wasn't extremely beautiful as Abigaile but he truly was stunning. His lips were full and bigger than hers. His face was carved to precision. Abigaile truly found interest in him for the way he would talk to her and they would get lost in their own world. Ty actually would hang on every word Abigaile said. They might have said casual but what they had was far from that.
Abigaile reached for the hem of Ty's shirt but he stopped her. She gave him a puzzled look.
Tears began to fall down Ty's cheek and Abigaile was shocked.
"Ty? Don't cry. Is it because of me?" Abigaile stroked away his tears with her thumb.
"Yes. It is your fault."
"How T? How?" Abigaile asked. She wished she could break the boundaries like Ty could and cry.
"You make me want things I shouldn't. You make me thing the world is a good place where everything is fair. I get lost with you. I want you too badly sometimes."
Ty poured out his heart and Abigaile was shocked.
"Well you should know Ty; I care more about you than I probably should." She said.
"Really Abbie?"
"Yes. I love you too much and it hurts to admit it." Abigaile bit her lip.
"I love you too. If it hurt that meant there is so much pain that I can heal."
"Are you willing to Ty?"
"Of course. That's what lovers do." Ty fell unto the bed and wrapped his arms around her so she dropped along with him. Her hair spread across the bed. She had soft silky black hair with the tiniest brown streaks.
"I'm glad you're here."
"Good night Abigaile."
"Good night Ty."
"In the morning it would be best we forget this. To keep it casual." Ty said not believing himself. He was still afraid that she didn't love him and probably never would.
"Okay Ty. Whatever you wish. If I weren't tired I would have stormed out of here."
Once more glooming Abigaile wished she could cry and show him how he hurt her. Words were a problem for her. She couldn't express herself. Their race had different disadvantages and advantages.
"I would too." Ty said knowing that the one girl he wouldn't leave in the morning he'd hurt.
He could read feelings but he never told her. He could sense all her anger towards him. All her ire hid the fact that she loved so Ty never saw that.
They shut their tired eyelids and slept peacefully curled into each other. Dreams of those words flooded their heads. Morning came and the awkwardness arose.
Ty and Abigaile snapped out of the memory and found themselves gazing at each other.
What she felt for him was like a rose in a bush of thorns. It stood out as the most brilliant thing around.
"I meant everything." Ty said slowly.
"What?" Abigaile asked puzzled.
"You'll know soon. But I'm in trouble Abbie. Deep shit."
"Ty what did you do this time?"
She hoped it was just one of his little problems he brought up and could fix with his gifts. His face said otherwise. She hoped Ty hadn't screwed up majorly.
"We are the gifted children of Zahara. Any human that you've caused faults with just charm them or put a trance on them." She suggested quietly.
"First thing my beautiful Abbie, I am a Dark Child and you are Light. I kill to control and you place trances. Second thing, I didn't create a problem with a human. I began a lifetime feud with other immortals centuries ago."
"What do you mean?"
Her pulse started to race at more than a normal pace. She was scared for him. She wanted his safety. Immortals of their world didn't take revenge lightly. Too their nature revenge meant the highest measures. She wanted her Ty to never be lost because of his own idiocy.
"I mean the person I troubled is considered high in aristocracy."
"What?" Ty seemed perplexed.
"Don't act dumb."
"I started this feud before I met you. I actually wished you'd come into my life sooner so I wouldn't be in this mess."
"Explain," She edged him on.
Wanting to be sure that he wasn't lying. She didn't need hurt but rather his heart.
"That night when I said I loved you and told you to forget it, I was afraid. Afraid you didn't feel the same." Ty slowly confessed.
"I read the anger off of you. It was so strong." He accidently told her he could read her feelings.
"You read my feelings."
"Yup."
"That doesn't matter. I need you to know don't be afraid to love me because this casual isn't working. I love you Ty."
"Look me in the eye and say it again." Ty wanted to be sure.
Abigaile stood up and made her to him. Cupping his face in her hands, she stared into his eyes.
"Casualty doesn't work for me. That's because I love you Tylor Simms."
Once she'd said that, Ty knew what they had had been real. Then he kissed her and she kissed back, hard. This was their first kiss in which emotions weren't hidden.
The kiss lasted a long while. Once their lips parted, neither could find the courage to look the other in the eye.
"So what do we have for breakfast?" Ty asked trying to ease the tension.
"Your favourite." Abigaile answered.
"You made scrambled eggs, bacon and tea? I thought you hated the mixture. Your exact words : I refuse to make that or eat it," Ty's impression of her had its faults.
"I do not sound like that." Laughing happily, she said to him.
"That's not the point. Why'd you make it? I know you as a woman who is strong on her words. So why change?" Ty asked.
"I am willing to change my entire path for you." Abigaile hooked her hands around Ty's neck. They weren't going to kiss. She wanted to remember every corner of his face.
"It's going to be hard to leave you." She heard Ty murmur.
Breaking away from him, she screamed, "Really Ty!?"
"Hugo is after me." Confessing, Ty dropped his head.
"What?"
Hugo was an ancient Child of The Seven Suns and their power exceeded Ty and Abigaile's powers. Ty knew he would soon be gone. Abigaile couldn't bring herself to process the situation.
"I'm dead darling."
"No you're not."
"Abbie, I am so sorry. At least I have experienced love with you. I have had girls at my dispense but you were one that I would never forget, I promise you that. Even in death."
Caressing his cheek, Abigaile was speechless and kissed him. Her hair began to levitate as if electrified and both their bodies felt brightened. While encased in the case they began to glow. It wasn't unusual for people of their race. Events such as this proved how strong their love, then Ty did it.
He felt to one knee.
"Oh my goodness Ty."
"I will be in Heaven or my other option before our wedding. This ring just means, Will you promise to not forget me?"
"Yes Ty." She accepted the ring as he placed it on her ring finger.
"I love you Ty."
He rose up and embraced her, " I love you more."
"I have to leave."
"Why Ty?"
"Because my fate is sealed. Just please don't forget me. And if you find love I support you. If you do, I think it's best you hide the ring from them."
Walking out the door, Abigaile –for the first time- felt powerless.
What she didn't know was she would never see him again.
TIME: TOMORROW
"I am Officer Niles. We've found a body right off the highway Miss. His identity proves him to be Ty Simms." The officer spoke.
"That can't be." Abigaile protested
"Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Ty is close to the verge of death."
"No."
"Very brutal murder but his pulse is very slow and at an unusual pace."
"What?" Abigaile said as she chose to deny what the police officer said.
"Do you know him Ma'am? We need someone who can be with him and your number was his last call."
Abigaile didn't reply.
"Miss, I need an answer. There was a text from him to you that he never sent. I would love you to read it. Do you know him?"
"I know him."
"Are you on your way?"
"Yes."
"Don't you need the address Ma'am?" He asked.
"No. I know exactly where you are."
As the officer handed Abigaile, Ty's phone she read the message: You're everything I could possibly want. I do love you. Don't forget me. Yours in death, Ty.
