Alexa's Point of View

I lied in bed with Aaron. He had his arms wrapped around me as my head rested on his chest.

"I'm very lucky to have you," Aaron said to me. "Happy Valentine's Day."

"I am still surprised," I said sitting up as he groaned.

"Can't you be surprised down here? In my arms?" He asked.

I cross my legs and sat facing him, "Isn't it just weird that we got together?"

"Weird? I don't know. Unexpected? For sure," Aaron said. "But i wouldn't want it any other way."

"Me too," I nodded my head and smiled.

"And I'm sorry for all the dumb shit that happened," Aaron said as he fumbled with his fingers. "I have been an asshole and I'm really sorry. But I'm so ready now. It's all about us, I promise. From the night of that party, when you brought me home and helped me with everything, I knew the preexisting feelings I already had for you, got ten times more intense. And I didn't know what to do because I never felt that way about anyone like I did about you. And I really tried to fight it by being a complete and utter asshole. I'm sorry and no matter how many times I say it, I feel it will never fully be enough. You have enough shit on your plate and sometime's I think I'm just adding onto it and you'd be better off without me. But, I love you Alexa."

I sat back and widened my eyes for a quick minute, "Aaron, yeah you were an asshole, but so was I. You don't add to that shit.. at least not anymore. You defended me against my father and you've offered me a place to stay with you and Ben. You didn't have it too easy either so I understand why you did the things you did. But we have each other now and we are very happy," I said as I caressed his hand with mine. "I love you too."

Me leaned up and cupped my cheeks. He gave me the biggest kiss ever.

"Okay are you ready?" He asked getting up.

"Yeah," I smiled and nodded my head.

He walked over to his dresser and pulled open the top drawer, "Here." He turned around to face me and placed a small jewelry box in my hands.

I smiled and looked up at him before opening the box. It was a necklace. The name "Aaron" carved out in beautiful thick gold script letters.

"I hope that isn't.. misogynistic or disrespectful. Hamzah told me you always wanted to wear a boy's name so.. there you go," Aaron was blushing and nearly stuttering on his words.

"I feel like you outdid me," I laughed nervously as I struggled to hook it.

"Let me help you," He said as he clipped the necklace, then let it drop down onto my neck.

"Your turn," I smiled and walked over to my bag.

I pulled the envelope out of my bag and handed it to him. He opened the envelope which revealed the hotel stay.

"This is gonna be so much fun," He smiled. "Our own little vacation."

"It's more of a staycation because I didn't want you to have to drive far. But it's a super nice suite," I smiled.

"Totally," He said. "Thank you Alexa. I'm super excited!"

He leaned down and kissed my forehead.

"What do you wanna do know?" I asked.

He shrugged, "Whatever you want."

"We should FaceTime Hamzah. Just wish him a day full of love because he's just so far away."

"Sure," Aaron nodded and smiled as I pulled out my phone to FaceTime Aaron.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" I yelled into my phone just as Hamzah answered.

"Ow Alexa!" Hamzah snapped. "My AirPods were in and you just screamed!"

I laughed, "Sorry. Anyways, I'm here with Aaron and we just wanted to say Happy Valentine's Day. What are you doing?"

"I'm in Canada with zero friends and it's freezing. What do you think I'm doing?" He asked.

"I'm sorry Hamzah," I sighed.

"It's fine, I never really spent Valentine's Day with anyone romantically. Like yeah you and I would hang out but we did that everyday anyways," Hamzah smiled. "But I'm super glad you two are having a good day."

"Yeah," I smiled and looked over to Aaron who was smiling as well.

"That's a cool necklace," Hamzah said making a face.

"Oh this?" I asked as I lifted up the name plate. "This here? It's nothing."

"Oh nothing?" Aaron said sophisticatedly. "If it really is nothing you wouldn't mind if I snatched it up. Right?"

"Stop stop stop," I laughed as I pushed him away from me as he was already trying to unclip it.

I looked back over to Hamzah who began speaking, "I know this is a little off topic. But have you heard from Kathy?"

"She's still in her rehab," I said. "She's not allowed communication. But her mom said she is complying and actually improving."

Hamzah frowned but smiled all at the same time, "It sucks she's there. But I'm glad she's getting the help she needs."

"I hope she's enjoying today. She used to ask the chef's at the diner to make Delilah these cute heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes and she's bring them home to her for dinner."

"That's so sweet," Aaron said.

"Isn't it?" Hamzah asked.

"Okay, I'm gonna let you go now," I said to Hamzah. "Have fun doing.. whatever you plan on doing."

"Playing Minecraft and Rocket League," Hamzah sang.

"Okay you pro gamer you," I laughed. "Talk to you later."

"Talk to you later," Hamzah said before I pressed the red button at the bottom right of my screen.

"Now kiss me," I smiled over to Aaron who hopped off his gaming chair to kiss me.
