Lunaria

Our story starts in a mysterious mansion hidden deep inside the haunted, dark forest. The mansion was the only building there. Lightning struck angrily as if it were furious that the mansion was hidden away.... or it was warning people not to go there. The mansion was presented in all its glory by the lightning. It was surprisingly well-built for the only building in this fearful forest. But you could tell it was very old as well which was a surprise because of how stable it was. Trees were towering over it like soldiers protecting their master or like policemen locking away a criminal from the rest of the world. Rain poured down and to anyone that crossed this path to the mansion, it felt like a ton of brick was being thrown at them nonstop. Although, this place was isolated from the world, there were many stories about this place. None of them were good. This may surprise some people that have stumbled among the mansion for the first time because from away it looked very welcoming. But the closer you got the creepier it looked. Even though this was the worse place to even hope for a peaceful life, there was a small light in the window.

Inside a young, beautiful girl was sitting by the fireplace with a book in her pale hands. Her blond hair was long, straight and well-brushed with a cute pink ribbon in it. She wore a stunning blue dress that would make any man fall for her immediately. Her skin was as pale as snow which made her hypnotizing eyes stand out more. Baby blue eyes scanned the book taking in every word they read. This lady was a truly beautiful sight in the mansion. And the name of this lady was Lunaria Black. She was the only one living in this mansion at the time. Her family built it years and years ago for unknow reason. Since then, every generation of the Black's family lived there. It came as a surprise that the Black's family managed to go on for so many years after the mansion was built. Many people were terrified of the forest that accompanied the mansion, so it was hard to find a husband or wife that would not mind living there. But once in a while a brave soul did appear and lived a surprisingly good life with the Black's family in the mansion. The town's people though that a spell was put on them so that they wouldn't run away from the family but there was no proof of that. This caused the Black's family to have a bit of a reputation due to the place they lived in and all the stories about it. Lunaria's parents died not too long ago in the mansion, the same as every person in the Black's family did. Because of this she was left alone to take care of the mansion. And all of its surprises.

Suddenly a soft bang was heard from upstairs making Lunaria drop the book straight away as she got up. It was common for random noises to happen out of nowhere at the most unexpected moments but.... they never came from the attic. She has never been to the attic, not even as a child. No matter how many times she asked her parents why she can't go they never gave her an actual answer. She tried sneaking in many times, but she failed each time. She always got caught. Like they were keeping a dark secret from her. Taking a deep breath, Lunaria got up and started to climb the ladder leading to the attic. Shakingly, the opened the door and scanned the area. This was her first time that she had a good look at the attic's inside. Before she could only see a bit from the keyhole. Truth be told, she was terrified of this moment but surprisingly nothing happened. The whole area was covered head to toe in dust, she'll have to clean up here another time. Stacks among stacks of boxes filled the room. Lunaria didn't have a clue what could be in them. Some old paintings were hanging on the wall. Nothing looked out of the ordinary, so Lunaria decided to leave but she froze soon after. It happened again.

But this time it was much louder. Much louder. Lunaria gulped as she went back inside and looked around cautiously. Everything was how it was before she was about to leave. Lunaria was very confused but decided to leave the room and calm down a bit but that's when she heard it. A girls' laugh. But it wasn't an ordinary laugh. It was a creepy, psychotic laugh. It send a very cold shiver down Lunaria's spine. Every hair on her body was up immediately. She slowly turned around and saw something that made her blood run cold. It was a doll just sitting there with its lifeless red eyes staring deep into her soul. It had long ginger hair and was wearing a cute girly outfit. Lunaria knew what it was. It was her doll. She always played with it as a little girl until one day she lost it when she got caught trying to go to the attic again. But that was ages ago, so she didn't remember much but she knows for her fact that she didn't leave it in the attic. Her parents must have put it in there. But when she first looked around the doll wasn't there. Something must have moved it. That was one of the things that made her froze. The second surprise she found was way worse. Behind the doll was something she never expected. A ghost

Lunaria's blue eyes widen at the sight of the ghost. It looked like a boy version of herself but younger. Way younger. Its blond hair was short and a bit messy. The same memorizing blue eyes started back at her. If it wasn't for the situation, she was in, Lunaria would have thought that he looked a bit cute. Even though it looked like a twin brother that she had never had. Or did she? She was always told that she was an only child but now she wasn't so sure. Looking at its clothes, Lunaria saw that they were covered in blood. Not only his face and his hair. For a ghost it looked very much alive instead of transparent how ghosts are believed to be. He held the doll tightly as if it were a dear friend to him. It reminded Lunaria of her as a kid. A few seconds past in which Lunaria thought that she will die anytime but nothing happened. The ghost just stood there. They kept staring at her not blinking at all even for one second. Their eyes were fixed on her the whole time. Lunaria could see sadness and relief in their eyes, but she wouldn't be tricked into coming any closer. She may be a nice and helpful person and she did feel a bit sorry for them, but this was a ghost we were talking about. She has only read of ghosts in books, but she never thought she would see one in her life. Taking advantage of the fact that the ghost wasn't doing anything, Lunaria dashed for the door. She needed to get out of here now! But when she reached for the doorhandle dread filled her. Locked.

Panic filled her at lights speed. How was it locked? She doesn't remember locking it when she came here. And there's no way the ghost could have locked it. So how is it locked? But facts were facts, and the fact was that the door was locked. Lunaria started to shake as she fell to the ground. Hot tears streamed down her face. What was going to happen to her now? Is this how she dies? Suddenly, Lunaria felt an ice-cold sensation from behind her, so she turned around and gasped. The ghost was gone! So was the doll. Shakingly, she pulled her legs to her chest and continued to cry. She didn't know what just happened and why did this happen. But she knew one thing, she needs to get out of here as fast as possible! Taking a few deep breaths, she tried to calm down a bit but at the same time an idea came to her mind. She could use a hairpin to lockpick the door open. Hurriedly, Lunaria took her hairpin out of her hair and got to work. Unlocked! Stumbling to her feet, Lunaria rushed out of the attic as fast as possible. Unknown to her someone was following her.

With all her strength, Lunaria ran out of her house and into the forest. She knew that bad things happened in the forest, especially at night, but she needed to get as far away as possibly from the mansion. The only place she could think of going right now was her friend's house nearby. She would be able to stay the night there and think all of this through. To her dismay, she tripped over a tree trunk and scratched her leg badly. Blood oozed out of her wound like a river. The pain was so unbearable that Lunaria couldn't even move a slight bit. Lunaria felt the sensation that she felt back in the attic again. She looked up and was yet again face to face with the ghost and the doll

"I finally get to talk to you dear sister. No one will take you away from me now" the ghost said not taking their eyes off Lunaria. His tone was calm but had a psychotic tone behind it. "You're staying with me and our dear Annabelle....forever" was the last thing Lunaria heard before everything went black.
