~Earlier and Present~

Klonoa's POV 💍

I was only out of my home and for a small walk in Breezegale Village (while minding my own business) for a bit, when I suddenly noticed something or someone falling from the sky, towards the fields that's behind the village.

Curious and confused, I stopped what I was doing and ran off in the direction where I saw whatever it is, falling from the sky and into the fields, while I started wondering what was going on.

By the time I got over there, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary or something that'd give me a sign that a dream or more are in danger.

But the only thing I did see, was another cat that's similar to me, but different, lying on the ground.

"Are they alright?!" I thought to myself, before hurrying over, as my eyes were filled with worry.

When I got a better look at the cat, I noticed this one surprisingly happened to be a girl who even appears to be around my age too.

What's even more odd, was that she also has a wind ring with her that looks exactly like mine. The only difference however was the gem and the ring's color.

At the same time, I noticed her clothes looked weird and different, compared to the attire I've seen so far from my adventures.

"Is she the one who fell from the sky?" I thought to myself as I kept looking at the cat girl.

Not sure what to do, I just sat down and waited for her to wake up, poking her every once in a while to see if she'd respond or at least move a little to that.

In which she didn't, most of the time, even though she's surprisingly alive and breathing, despite how hard the collusion must've been when she fell here from the sky.

Gazing over at her face, I noticed she looked pretty and cute, which made me blush a little and look away quickly.

"Wait...What am I thinking? I just met this girl and she's not even conscious yet. She doesn't even know me either, since we've never met each other before." I thought to myself as I shook my head a little for a moment, still red in the face from both blushing and embarrassment.

Sighing, I continued watching over her, hoping she didn't get killed after the fall that's happened.

Well...The waiting unfortunately didn't last for even a second, because I suddenly smelled something sweet from her.

"Smells like....perfume and cotton candy?" I thought to myself again in confusion, as I leaned in close to her for a moment.

Kirara's POV 🫧

Okay.

The first thing I literally did not expect myself to wake up to, was an anthropomorphic cat up close in my face, sniffing a little and looking at me, out of curiosity.

Which was cute but kinda creepy at the same time, if you know what I mean.

As soon as I saw that, I shrieked, feeling slightly freaked out, before sitting up quickly as the cat immediately got out of the way before the both of us could bump each other's foreheads by accident.

But, I immediately regretted that as soon as I felt a shot of pain circulate through my head, making me wince and clutch it lightly.

"Oww...My head..." I went, feeling tears appearing in my eyes from the pain, as I massaged the back of my head gently, trying to ease it up a bit.

"Ah! Are you okay, miss?!" I heard the cat say, making me twitch a little at the sound of his voice.

"You took quite a hard fall for someone like you to fall from the sky."

"I fell from...what?"

"You fell from the sky."

"Geez...No wonder why my head was hurting so badly when I gained consciousness. I'm surprised it didn't split in half like a melon." I groaned, joking a little in attempt to lighten my mood, before wincing in pain again.

"Yeah!" The cat replied before he laughed a bit, even though I can tell he's still worried about me.

After seeing him laugh, I only looked over and smiled lightly in response until the cat stopped laughing.

"By the way, miss...What's your name? I've never seen you around here in any part of this land before..." The cat asked next, as he cutely tilted his head to the side.

"My name's Kirara. But, you can call me 'Kira' for short if you want to." I answered. "What about you, kitty boy?"

"I'm Klonoa! And it's nice to meet you, Kira!" He replied before extending his hand out for a handshake.

When I heard his name, my eyes widened a little in shock and surprise, as I started mentally flipping out on the inside, even though I didn't physically show it on the outside.

"Wait...I got sucked into Klonoa's world?! NO FUCKING WAY! And how is this even possible?!?!" I thought to myself as I trembled in excitement.

"N...Nice t-to meet you too, Klonoa!" I replied while I shook his hand.

In response, he looked a little surprised himself after I letted go of his hand.

"Woah, you're suddenly stuttering a little now. Are you okay?" Klonoa went.

"Yea, I-I'm fine...I just didn't expect myself to meet you in person." I answered as my face turned red in embarrassment, before I quickly looked away from him.

"What do you mean? And why?" I heard him ask.

Not wanting to tell the truth about where I'm really from, I decided to hide that part away by saying I came from a faraway land that he and his friends never knew about.

"...And back at home, I've heard lots of tales about you. Including all of the courage and heroism you've done and had in you, during your adventures." I explained, obviously telling a white lie to him, that was convincing enough.

"Wow...Didn't know I would be famous from where your home is." He says next before chuckling, once I was done explaining.

"Hey, I'm being serious here..." I went as I pouted a bit.

"I know." Klonoa replied as he smiled before standing up.

"Can you get up, Kira?"

"Yeah, I can. My head's stopped hurting for the time being, so, I should be fine before it comes back." I sighed before getting helped up to my feet.

"Cool. Also, since you don't have a place to stay, would you like to stay over at my house?" Klonoa offered.

Red faced over this, I politely declined his offer.

"Thanks, but, I don't think you have another room in your home. Or an extra pair of clothes I could change out of, that'd fit around my size." I say as I sweat dropped a little.

"I actually have a basement and three bedrooms in my house, aside from the usual kitchen, living room and bathrooms...But, are you sure?" He asked.

"Damn it! Why is he so cute and innocent?! He's too pure and sweet for this world!" I thought in my head after hiding my face in my hands.

In response to my reaction, Klonoa gave me a confused look, not understanding why I'm acting like this.

"Never mind...I'll stay over at your house." I spoke up after getting myself together, even though I was still a bit red in the face.

"Okay! Just know I have someone else living there too..." Klonoa mentions as he smiled.

"I wonder who..." I thought again, feeling curious this time.

The only thing I did at this point was nod in response to what Klonoa said before he took my hand and led me over to his house in the village.
