Finale (Luna's POV)

My memories should be buried and never retrieved. I couldn't believe how much had happened to me in the past and how I was still able to look Ryleigh in the eye. Even now I still feel uneasy being alone with anyone, even if I know they won't hurt me. My father stayed for a few days but is now leaving. I am really grateful I got to meet with him.

"You take care of yourself Luna, I don't want to lose you before I even get to know you. Im sorry I was never there but I am going to make it up to you." My father assured before giving me one last hug before disappearing out of sight.

Turning, I walked down the hall and into the kitchen where I found Ryleigh and all his friends. I found myself being dragged to the table by one of the girls.

"You have to eat Luke's cooking, it's so good!" Shay giggled and made me sit in a chair next to Ryleigh.

Ryleigh and I haven't had the time to sit down and talk about our situation yet since the Sun God returned to which he came. And I planned on speaking with Ryleigh, however how could I be so cruel as to keep him here with me when he had a life on earth?

That evening I padded down the halls and to a bedroom door, it was quite late and I was nervous about speaking with
Ryleigh. Hesitantly knocking on the door I bit my lip.

Ryleigh opened up and looked down at me with a shocked expression.

"Luna? Your supposed to be resting, why are you here?"

"I needed to speak with you." I walked in and took a seat on his bed, Ryleigh sat on the opposite side. "I needed to discuss our... situation."

Ryleigh didn't show much emotion before I heaved a sigh, here goes, "Ryleigh, I know over the last week or so we've been growing closer and closer, but... I need to express that... We can't see each other, You have a life on earth and a fami-"

A pair of lips touched my forehead, I hadn't realized I had closed my eyes until I felt Ryleigh kiss me. Looking up at him I saw a warm smile on his face. He reached up and tucked some of my hair behind my ear. "Luna, I may have a family on earth, but who's to say I can't be one with you here?"

My heart fluttered at the statement until I remembered that I had to stand my ground. "Your human, and need things I can't give you."

"You give me more than you think."

"You could get sick."

"That's why your a God right?"

"I'm a Demi God, there's a difference, I can't heal you if you get really sick."

"Than I guess I'll have to be careful."

"You also need proper nutrients."

"I'm pretty sure you have a perfectly good garden out back."

"The plants here are different from the ones on earth." I rolled my eyes. He wasn't listening. I was trying to look out for him but he was completely ignoring me. And for some reason it didn't bother me.

"It doesn't matter. I can go to earth and stay for awhile, than I can come back to you. We can make this work-"

I put a finger up to his lips and sighed. "you don't think this hasn't been attempted before? Humans are fragile-"

"I think I can take care of myself-"

"I don't doubt it. But I need you to understand-"

"Do you not like me anymore?" Ryleigh asked, he was so serious when he asked that it made me pause. How could I not like him? Heck, I loved the man but... Something inside of me was hesitant to let him in.

"I do like you-"

"Than I don't see what the issue is. we can make this work." He said firmly. "I know your nervous and scared about having me stay here but in all honesty, with everything that's happened? I want to be here because I've fallen for you, fallen hard, and I can't just pick up my things and leave you here. If your so worried about me going home, don't be."

I couldn't believe that he stood so firmly, he was so sure of what he wanted. The fire and determination he had in his eyes made me pause. I thought and I felt my shoulders square, I had to approach this carefully.

"Ryleigh. I want you stay, but, you need to go back to earth first. Your still young and have a year or so left of high school. I want you to get your education and experience life. Ryleigh, I want you think about me. I want you to consider living with me after your 25 birthday. You can experience life, get a job, a pet and maybe have a couple flings."

Ryleigh looked shocked, his mouth opening and closing in shock, like he couldn't find any words. "Luna-"

"I promise I'll watch over you. I'll even send you messages, but you have a life you need to live before you come live with me. I can go to earth even and visit. But I can't be far away long. Please, allow yourself that." I pleaded him.

Ryleigh stared at me for awhile before reaching out and pulling me into a hug, he held the back of my head and kissed my cheek. "I can't seem to win can I?" He heaved a sigh and continued to just hold me, my feelings on this could only be described as an ache that spread my heart and through my body, making me reach out to hug Ryleigh back tightly.

"I am pretty stubborn." I whispered.

It was just as I thought. After Ryleigh and his friends left, my home seemed so hollow again. However I still feared corners and would always make sure to check every available hiding spot in a room before relaxing. I tried to force myself to relax but it never worked.

And the part that hit me the hardest was the Ryleigh was still gone. I cried for the first couple nights, but now I just stare at my television with old video clips of Ryleigh when they were in the forest. I had a particular spot paused so I could see his sleeping face.

It hurt.

I wanted it to be real, I feel idiotic for driving him away.

Seasons passed and I still had yet to contact Ryleigh. I was to afraid that maybe he realized he didn't need me. It chilled me.

But I was feeling at least a fraction of confidence so I got up off my couch and forced myself into the bathroom. I took a long shower, deciding what I was going to say. Or how I was going to do this. Getting out I pulled my hair into a ponytail, it had definitely gotten longer. I picked a decent outfit before concentrating my powers so I could teleport to earth. The process was never fun as it was such a long distance and because I sometimes never ended up in the right place.

I thankfully landed just a few feet away from my original destination. Looking up at Ryleigh's school I felt nervous. What if now wasn't a good time?

Sucking in a deep breath I walked into the school and walked into the office. The lady at the desk smiled in greeting. "hello sir, what can I help you with today?"

I placed my hands nervously on the desk and twiddled my thumbs. "um... May I see a student that goes here for a bit?"

She gave a nod. "who is it?"

"Ryleigh."

She scrolled through her computer a moment before picking up the phone. "Send Ryleigh to the front office please." she hung up and smiled to me. "He's in class so I would suggest you keep it short. Take a seat, he should be here in a minute." I nodded and took a seat in an uncomfortable chair.

I should have known this was a terrible idea, he was in school! I was half tempted to tell her to call it off when I saw Ryleigh walk into the office.

Sucking is a breath I looked over him. It's been a year and a half since I last spoke with him. He had changed so much, he didn't look so much like a kid anymore, but more like an adult. He walked with his shoulders high and his hands in his pockets. However when he saw me his jaw slackened and his hand dropped.

I felt my chest tighten and my eyes start to burn. I stood abruptly and stared at him with agony. He looked on the verge of tears now.

"Luna..." He whispered brokenly. "Is... That you?"

"Is that you?" I chuckled breathlessly and wiped my eyes and came forward to hug him tightly. His smell invaded my senses and made my chest ache even more. He hugged me desperately.

"I thought about you everyday." He cupped the back of my head and smiled through tears.

"As did I." It was then that we were aware that the office lady and a few other people had gathered to stand there to stare at us. Some in shock or some in awe.

Ryleigh noticed my gaze had strayed before blushing to the tips of his ears. "sorry!" He grabbed my wrist and pulled me down the hallway and to a bathroom. It was dimly lit but looked relatively clean for a bathroom.

I chuckled. "Your pretty oblivious huh?"

"Wasn't I always?"

"Never."

From that day on we spent every first weekend together. It was a short amount of time but it felt like an eternity, even more so when we were apart. But we managed.

He grew to be a strong man, his graduation lead to college and college lead to a good job where he was able to live on his own. However the day finally came when he became 25.

I went down to earth and I stood in front of his apartment door nervously. Gods I was nervous. Maybe he didn't want to live with me anymore.

Sighing I knocked in the door. It opened immediately. Ryleigh stood there with a big grin on his face. His eyes shining.

"Luna! You're here!" He reached out and kissed me gently. "I've been waiting a long time for this."

He opened his door further to reveal that his apartment was practically empty and a couple bags of things awaited in the corner.

He shuffled awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck. "Today is my birthday..."

Tears welled up in my eyes. "So it is.."

"And you promised..." He looked up at me.

"I did..." I stepped further inside. He really wanted to come with me. I reached out and grabbed his hand. "And your sure?"

"Nope." He grinned and squeezed my hand reassuringly.

"Than grab your things, it's time to head home."
