Chapter Sixteen: Crash

Diana's POV

Everyone was in their positions.

"Okay, are you ready Darling?" Luca asks.

I breathe in deeply and exhale quite shakily, finally feeling all of the nerves getting to me. I wipe my sweaty hands on the back of my blue jeans, nodding.

"It's now or never,"

My lips pucker as I wait for Luca's to touch them. We share a sweet moment together.

"Be careful Diana, I love you."

"I love you too,"

My feet shuffle away from Luca as he begins to move into his spot while I make my way into the territory. A sudden rush of negativity entered my body as soon as I stepped foot in the Moon's Pack. I sneak more inside and see a small neighborhood.

Bingo!

A few small houses were the perfect place to start. I head to the first one, seeing the dim lights lit inside from the small windows and the cracks of the door.

I crouch my way to the door, feeling sweat running down my forehead. My fist lightly knocks on the steel door, leaving an echoing sound.

After a couple of seconds, it opens revealing a teenage boy.

"Luna Queen! What are you doing here? It's not safe." He harshly whispers.

I was surprised he knew me.

I smile and put my finger to my lips.

"Shh, "

He moves out of the way and allows me to pass into his house. My eyes meet with a little girl, who whimpered behind him.

I turn my attention back to the teenage boy. He seemed to be around my age.

"I need you to follow me. We are going to get you and her, " I point toward the little girl, "out of here. We need to hurry though."

"We can't leave. He will find us a-and kill us."

"Who?"

"Alpha King Theo."

I shook my head, letting a hand out for him to hold onto.

"I will make sure that he won't. That's a promise. Now come, follow me."

With great hesitation, he agreed. The little girl ran up to him and he picks her up with ease. We slowly head out of the house and hide in the shadows.

"Luna Queen, why are you doing this?" He asks.

I stay quiet and lead them back to Luca, who was waiting patiently.

"I will take you to Alpha King Luca, he will take care of you, I promise. You will be safe now."

After a few more steps I saw Luca pacing back and forth quickly, head in his hands.

"Luca!" I harshly whisper.

He sniffs the air and turns my way in a split second, sighing in relief when he saw me.

The boy followed me, bowing at Luca a bit.

"Luca, this is-"

"Thomas." The boy finishes.

Huh, I never did get his name. Luca nods toward him them looks at me.

"I don't think I can handle you going in and out of his territory my love. How about I take this one?"

I rub my face with defeat.

"Alright. First, stick to the plan and lead them to one of the Pack warriors. I'll stay here and wait for you."

"Okay."

Luca left me alone, taking Thomas and the little girl to safety.

It was really creepy out here and I was getting a bad feeling of being alone. I brushed it off while rubbing my arms to keep some warmth.

In a few minutes, Luca came back and hugs me from behind, resting his chin on my shoulder.

"This is going to take a while."

He was right, but it was possible. We may not be able to finish today and I knew that.

"We will come back tomorrow then, and the days after until EVERY single person makes it out there safe."

"Then it will be done." He mutters.

Luca lets me go and walks to the territory, sneaking his way inside. I watch him leave.

Once he was fully out of my sight, a crunching noise sounded from behind me.

What the hell was that?

A small roaring sounded, and it became, louder, and louder.

Okay, this isn't right. It was quiet for a moment but our entire plan suddenly fails.

A taxi flies through the trees flipping multiple times until it stopped to my left. I crouched in a hovering position trying to protect myself.

In a low movement, I raise my head up, making my way to the cab.

"Hello?" I question,

I know I was mad at the crash, but I needed to see if the person was at least alive.

"Are you okay?"

"Alpha King! It came from here!" another voice sounded. It sounded so familiar, I couldn't put my finger on it though.

I run and hide behind a tree.

Damn it, Theo. I could hear the glass crunching beneath their feet as they were walking to the destroyed vehicle.

"Check who it is and if they are alive. Let's take them in for some answers."

"Yes, Alpha King."

Luca flooded my mind, asking if I was alright and what happened.

"Stay in the territory. There has been a terrible car accident and Theo is here. Don't worry I'm hiding." I mind-link.

My hands fly to my mouth as I wait for the two enemies to leave.

"They smell like another Pack."

Another Pack?

More glass shattered and I could hear the bodies drag out of cab slowly.

"Beta Blake?" Theo's Huntsman gasps.

My eyes looked like they would have popped out of my head.

"Hey there, Matt."

No. It can't be.

Hayden's POV

*****5 minutes before the accident*****

"Are you serious? You really did that?" Blake howled in laughter.

I laugh along with him, nodding.

"Yep! We actually went sledding...in trash bags."

I wasn't kidding. The kids and I were at Jade and I's home. She was still pregnant at the time. There were also many more kids, younger brothers, and sisters of the older youth.

We decided to go sledding and tubing as it was one of the strongest snowfalls in Utah.  Except all of our sleds were either broken or deflated.

Jade stayed home with the younger kids while the rest of us took a large box of heavy-duty trash bags. Let's cut to the chase. We slid down hills with them on (true story).

"Maybe you can take Mon and me."

"Of course."

Blake and I kept to ourselves for a few minutes, just enjoying the car ride back to the Packhouse.

I let out a loud yawn, clapping my lips together afterward.

"You can sleep. We can switch, you've been driving a long time."

"No, no it's fine."

Another yawn leaves me and I close my eyes for a moment. They stay closed.

"Woah Hayden! Watch out!"

My eyes peel open and I swerve off into the forest, trying to gain control of the wheel. The car flip once having me hit my head on the window. Blake grabs a hold of the wheel, trying to get us back into control.

"Blake!" I yell.

"Hold on!" He yells back.

Diana's POV

There was no way Matt could be the one working for Theo. This just made the entire process more difficult.

I peek my head out a tiny bit just to see the scene.

"Let him go, he means no harm." Blake gurgled on blood.

He was referring to Hayden who laid next to him. I suck in a breath and bite my tongue to prevent myself from saying anything.

"What's going on? Diana, are you alright? I got a bad feeling."

"L-Luca. Theo has Blake and Hayden."

Theo gripped onto Hayden's arm, raising him off of the ground. He coughed up his lungs, trying to regain some energy.

"Hmm, take them into the cells. I will speak with them once there is daylight. For now, leave everything the way it is." Theo ordered.

Okay, great. So my youth leader and Beta are trapped, while my mate is stuck in our enemies Pack. This plan is going great.

Blake and Hayden were forcefully pushed into the territory and they walk away without a fight. I finally let out all the air I held in my body, feeling my brain regain oxygen.

"Okay, Diana. Maybe this is for the best. Right now just stick to saving everyone." I speak to myself.

"Luca, honey you can come back now. I will let you know everything as soon as you get back."

"I'm on my way, Love."

He replied immediately.

Luca ran to me and held me in his arms, swaying us side to side.

"What happened? Are you hurt?"

I shake my head, kissing his firm chest. My hands rub up and down his back and torso. Before I could say anything my vision went behind him. I push my way past him, letting out a breathless laugh.

"Oh my God..."

There was a pack of members who kept quiet. I don't know how many there were but it was more than 100 for sure.

"You saved them all? Bu-whe-How? How did you do it so fast?"

My mate always seemed to impress me and he was doing a pretty damn good job at it.

"Well, they all live near each other. That accident really helped us escape without getting caught. Amazing...right?"

"Huh, about that..."

"Follow the path to King's Lake. There will be pack warriors and Alphas from neighboring packs waiting to help you all. Stay in the shadows." Luca cut me off.

The members listened to Luca's instructions and left without another word. We were finally alone.

"Tell me everything..." He speaks sternly,

I explain all the sudden actions that took place and what had happened. Luca kept quiet and listened to me spill everything. It felt like a big weight was lifted off of my shoulders but the stress was eating me up.

"Okay, this is good," He says.

I raise my eyebrow in confusion and clear my throat for further clarification. He shifts his head from one side to the other, seeing if anyone was near us.

"Well, now we won't get a higher chance of getting caught. Blake and Hayden's scents will distract them from our own. They are from our Pack which means we have the same smell."

"So we are going to use our greatest friends as bait?" I question.

"Only for a moment! As soon as we save everyone...I will make sure to get them out of this hell alive."

"How do you know they will be alive for that long?"

Luca held onto both of my hands, leaving a small peck on my forehead.

"Trust me, Theo won't let them get away that easy without some answers. He will continue to torture them until he gets what he wants."

"Torture?"

"This means we will need to work faster. Half of the members need to be out before the end of the week. We need to take the risk of saving larger groups at once than smaller ones." He adds.

Hayden can't last as long. He might be strong but he isn't a werewolf. He will be dead before we know it! I can't let that happen.

"Alright, it's my turn. I am going to go deeper into the territory." I answer.

Ignoring his protests, I sprint into the territory and make my way deeper into the neighboring areas. Many of the houses seemed to be empty leaving me with great confusion.

"Luna Queen?" I hear from behind me.

My head turns quickly and I see an old man watching me. There were hundreds of members behind him who stared at me with amazement. They all bowed at me with respect.

"Wow, word spreads fast around here," I whisper.

"There isn't much you can do, other than find a way to live here." The elderly man speaks for the entire group.

"Come, I will get you all to safety. Stay with your families so you will not get split up."

We all sneak back and successfully leave the territory without any problems.

This is going to be a lot easier than I thought.
