Chapter Five: Help
Luca's POV
I sat quietly in my office watching Diana sign off a few papers next to me. She raised one of them and handed it to me with confusion.
"It says it's anonymous." I stared into her curious doe brown eyes and felt my heartbeat quicken.
"Here let's see it. In a few minutes, I need to go to the Moon's pack, and this time you are not to leave my side."
Diana slides her chair closer to me and gives me a small peck before handing me the paper.
"I don't plan too." Good. I couldn't bear to see her in any more pain, all because of me. My gaze shifted to the letter in front of me.
Alpha King Luca Mason,
This a close friend of yours and Luna Queen Diana, I must inform you that we really need your help. I am a part of the Moon's pack but I can not say who I am or they will kill me. Please just save us, I beg of you.
I furrowed my eyebrows and rubbed my neck in stress. Diana grabbed my hand and rubbed my back softly for comfort. I melted into her touch and tossed the paper back onto the desk. She raised her legs and rested them on top of mine as we began to come up with a plan.
"It is a letter from the Moon's Pack." She hummed and climbed into my lap. I felt her cuddle into my chest and become comfortable as we spoke.
"Oh yeah? What's it say?"
"The letter is requesting our help. They really are struggling with Theo, Darling. Should we still speak to him?"
"It's worth a shot. I'm going to go change and get ready. I love you and don't do anything stupid without me." I rested a hand on my heart and acted as if there was a pain in my chest.
"Ouch. I would never!" She gave me one last kiss before leaving to get ready. I felt myself become dizzy and a pinch in my lower abdomen.
"I'm getting stronger Luca, I can't stop myself any longer. There is no way I want this to happen again." Jay spoke. It was happening again and this time there was no way to stop it.
*****
"You ready Babe?"
I put my arm around my beautiful mate's shoulder and we walk out of the Packhouse together. Her perfect body fit mine like a puzzle piece as we made our way to the Moon's pack.
"So, how is my other love doing? I haven't heard from him since last night."
Jay howled with happiness as she asked about him and I rolled my eyes at his actions. He wagged his tail and stuck his tongue out in a playful motion.
"He is doing just fine. I'll let you see him soon...just not now."
We walked quietly off of the territory for a few minutes until she stopped and looked up at the sky with one hand covering her eyes from the sun. I turned my body to her wave her over but she shakes her head.
Diana raised her arms and gives me a puppy face. I sighed and smiled deeply at her cuteness, nudging my head. She squealed and ran into my arms, legs around my waist as my hands rested under her bum for support. Her head rested in the crook of my neck and she pulled me closer to her if it was even possible.
I began walking again, carrying Diana.
"Thank you." She mumbled with her eyes closed. I lingered my lips on her forehead and replied,
"No need to thank me, Darling. I would carry you to the moon and back if you wanted me too."
I saw her blush and she covered her gorgeous face with her slim hands. I laughed a little and tightened my grip on her.
"Have you heard from Blake or Monica?" I frowned at the sudden question and sighed sadly.
"No, not yet. Don't worry though, once this is all over I will contact them and bring them back here. That's a promise I tend to keep."
"I'm just scared of them, that's all. What if something happens to Monica and her child? The baby? What if they get lost and can't find their way back? What if-"
"Hey! Hey, calm down Darling. They are strong and come from the strongest pack in the world."
She breathed in deeply and calmed down a bit. I bounced her up a little to fix my grip and we continued to enjoy each other for a while longer until we finally arrive.
I put Diana down and stand in front of her in a protective manner. She gasps and covers her mouth at the horrid sight in front of her. I gulp loudly and put my hand out for her to grab onto.
"I'm here."
Dead bodies covered the forest floor as the blood-soaked the brown dirt. The flies buzzed around the flesh, eating the small bits of skin that was now food along with maggots. Diana gagged closing her eyes and turning her head to the side.
I covered my nose from the rotting stench as we walked over the poor innocent souls that laid beneath us.
"L-Luca I can't. This is too much." I saw her eyes begin to tear up and she bit her bottom lip to prevent a sob to release from her.
"I know baby, it's a lot to handle. We have to do this before any more lives are lost. Come, I'll continue to carry you." She jumped on my back this time, whimpers leaving her mouth after seeing another lifeless body.
My canines began to grow and my eyes started to darken. I hissed in pain, feeling my bones crack a couple of times.
"Ah!" I dropped Diana onto the ground and I grabbed my head, a migraine occurs.
"Luca! w-what is going on?" She touched my arm and I flinched at her touch pushing her hand away from me.
"No don't touch me! This can't be happening right now!"
My claws grew out and my heart pounded at its maximum capacity. The pain finally died down and I wasn't in control anymore. Shit. This isn't good at all.
Diana's POV
AN: (Jay (Luca's wolf) is still in human form during this event.)
That wasn't my Luca. I backed away with fear and fell to the ground. He turned his soulless eyes towards me and smirked, this wasn't any smirk...it was pure evil.
"Hey, sweetheart. Miss me?" I tilted my head with confusion and shook uncontrollably at his power.
"Jay." What was happening? Why was he acting like this? He gave me a grin, his canines showing.
"Why are you afraid? Do you think I am going to hurt you?"
He flopped down next to me and moved his face close to mine whispering gently,
"I would never harm my Queen." His pure black eyes gazed deeply into mine.
His rough skin touched mine, wiping any tears that dared to leave my eyes. I sniffled loudly and embraced him. Jay's hands wrapped around my waist as he began to slowly lay onto the ground.
I straddled him and my head was against his chest, hearing his heartbeat.
"W-what happened? Where's Luca and why are you in control? Not that I hate you being here. I love you exactly the same."
Jay chuckled deeply and patted my bum before rubbing circles around my thighs.
"I love you too my Luna. I think it's time to tell her what is going on Luca?"
After a couple of seconds, he rolled his eyes and sat up under me.
"He wants to wait to tell you. But I shall say very little... Diana, this isn't the first time this has happened and it might not be the last. I am a bad man and a bad Alpha King...but you've changed me. You've changed us and I promise that our past will never be our future."
So Alpha Derek and Matt warned me about this. Was it really that bad?
"You are not a bad Alpha King. You can trust me okay? I'm here for you and I always will be."
His attention turned to something behind me and he quickly stood up, setting me down. I hid behind him and peeked over his shoulder.
"Alpha King. Perfect timing!" The guard spits onto the floor and whistled loudly. Crap, we were surrounded. I turned my body so Jay's back touched mine.
"I want him dead."
The guards started to urge forward and began running toward us.
Jay roared with fury and fought off two men. I squealed as one was coming near me. He ran to me and I ducked down, crawling between his legs.
He tripped over his feet and face planted the ground. I grabbed a rock that laid near me and threw it at his head, knocking him unconscious.
"Score!" My hands were raised and I jumped happily.
"Diana! Duck!" I turned around and my eyes widened.
Jay tossed a man into the air as I fell to the ground, hearing his bones crack at the pressure of the tree. He howled in pain and held his side.
Ouch.
One of the guards grabbed a hold of me, tossing me to the ground. He climbed on top of me and began taking my clothes off. I screamed while struggling under his body hoping that Jay could hear me. The guard laughed, unbuckling his pants with one hand while the other gripped my neck.
My knee kicked him in his perverted areas and he let me go. My feet shuffled to Jay but I was held back again when the guard grabbed my ankle.
"Jay!"
He punched the last guard before turning his head, eyes glaring at my ankle. He growled loudly making his way to me. This man was screwed and he knew it...especially with the whimper, he let out.
Jay raised him in the air with a hand around the poor man's neck while he struggled to breathe.
"You messed with the wrong Luna, mutt."
He squeezes his neck more until the can't take it anymore. The crunching sound of his neck was the last thing heard when Jay threw him onto the floor. I checked behind Jay and saw the bloodbath he had created from the three men he fought off alone.
I inhale shakily holding Jay's scraped and bloody hand.
"Are you alright?" Jay asked with worry. I nodded slowly, my eyes still scouring the area in front of us.
"I'm fine. You're with me and that's all that matters." He kissed my cheek and dragged me deeper into the territory. We stopped walking causing me to stumble on my feet, crashing into Jay's back.
He turned his body and pushed me against a tree hovering over my petite figure. His warm breath met my face as Jay's canines were showing from his opened lips.
"What?" I asked confused. He shushed me, pushing his body harder against mine. His eyes stared at my every movement, a small smile defining his luscious lips. I saw a few guards walk past us, ignoring our presence.
Jay pecked my lips slowly pulling apart and leaving me flustered at the tree.
"You coming?" He questioned. I jogged up to him wrapping my arms around his torso as we walked to the Packhouse. Small memories flooded my mind at the area remembering the day Xavier brought me here.
I bit my lip and exhaled slowly, walking closer to Jay.
"It feels too weird being back here, yet it's so different," I spoke up and breaking the silence. Jay rested his jawline and chin on my head rubbing my bandaged arm.
"I can't even imagine, Darling." I grabbed the cross from my neck holding it for the entire walk to the house.
- 15 minutes later -
We made it and the sight was horrible. Jay and I were currently hiding behind a large boulder, waiting until the guards' shifts were up. I checked on the side of the big rock making eye contact with a little boy. He was chained up outside of the house with his mother staring blankly at the ground.
'help me' He mouthed. I raised my hand to calm him down and raised a finger to my lips to keep him quiet.
I hid behind the boulder again tapping Jay's shoulder. He gave me his full attention nodding at me as a sign to continue. I decided to mind-link him.
"There is a little boy around 5 chained up against the house. His mother seems completely out of it. We have to help them!"
Jay sighed and slapped his head on his forehead in annoyance. He stood up and started to make his way to them.
"Where are you going?!? We can wait until the guards are done!"
He blew me a quiet kiss and gave me a wink smirking.
"I love you. Stay here my Luna."
Oh, Jay, what are you doing?
