Chapter Eleven: Christmas
Diana's POV
Jay ran his hands through his hair.
"Are you all okay? Where are you?" He talked on the phone.
"Put it on speaker babe," I whispered.
Jay peeled the phone away from his ear and with a press of a button, Monica was heard in the small office. Her breaths were deep and she sounded so...scared.
"Alpha! Oh, I'm so glad I remembered the right phone number. It's a lot harder than I thought, huh, I must say I am proud of myself! Anyway, we all made it back to the Church, except...there is one small-itty bitty- pickle we might be in." Her enthusiastic voice brought me joy.
I clung onto Jay's waist, bring him closer with my legs, he didn't seem to mind.
"Why? What happened? Does it have anything to do with Mia or your baby?" His voice became shaky with worry and I could tell he was getting nervous.
I could tell that Luca and Jay enjoyed being an uncle, they loved being able to protect them. It was honestly the most adorable thing ever.
"Oh God no!"
"Monica! We are in a Church!" Jade yelled.
"Jade!" I yelled happily.
Jay plugged his pointer finger in his ear and cringed at the loud noise.
"DIANA!" They both screeched.
"Okay, okay, we all said hello now, Monica, what is the problem? You guys are safe and that's all that matters."
It was true, they were away from danger and that made me feel a bit better about having my group leave.
"Um, Hayden and Blake are on their way back to you...They are coming to help you fight off Theo once and for all."
Oh, no.
"W-what caused them to do that?"
Jay was getting even more nervous.
"Well, Luna, your parents are here. Hayden is coming back for you, to keep you safe, Blake does not want him to go back, but Hayden can't go alone. He would die." Monica said.
My parents? Oh crap, what was I going to tell them? That I found a dude in the woods and I am marrying him. Wait, that is exactly what I am doing!
"Shit. Thanks for letting us know. Do they have any phones we can contact them on? Did they leave yet?" Jay's voice was getting deeper and more concerned.
I must say, it was really hot. I began trailing kisses on his neck and collarbone, causing a light growl from him.
"Yeah, they left about an hour ago. Hayden took my phone, I left it here at the Church on accident before the trip."
I grabbed some sticky note and a pen off Luca's desk, scribbling on the corner of it to see if it was working. Jade spoke out the number slowly, giving us some sort of contact with the two idiots.
"Thank you. Call us if anything happens, once this is over, we will call you when it is safe to come back."
Jay and I said our goodbye's and he hung up the phone. He moved away from my touch taking a seat on the leather office chair.
"What dumbasses! They are literally asking for a death wish," he groaned and squeezed his eyes shut, "Another damn problem we need to worry about."
"Hey, at least we know. Think about it, if they never called, Blake and Hayden could be dead or alive without our knowledge." My voice was soft.
Jay spread his arms open wide and nudged his head, motioning me to cuddle. How could I say no?
"Come here, I need your love darling,"
In an instant I was engulfed in his touch, snuggling into him as if he was a big teddy bear. Maybe he might be better than a teddy bear.
"At least we know. If those shitheads make it, they're still dead when they see me."
I rolled my eyes and giggled, connecting my lips with his.
*****
My eyes opened from the feeling of kisses being left all over my body. Luca laid beneath me while I was straddling him. I gave him a grim smile and pecked his nose.
"Merry Christmas Mrs. Mason," His deep voice spoke, sleep was still noticeable in his features.
I yawned a tiny bit and sat up, cradling him even more.
"Good morning Mr. Mason, You ready to get that tree?"
Today, we were planning on finding our Christmas tree, yes, on the day of. We didn't have enough time! Luca, Alex and I are planning on finding a tree so we can all decorate it as a family, I loved the idea and was super excited!
Our bedroom door opened, revealing Alex with an ugly Christmas sweater and a Santa hat on. He flopped next to Luca, crossing his legs with arms behind his head.
"Mornin' guys!" He cheered.
Luca rubbed his face with both hands while I patted his bare chest. His lower half was also...well it was covered by the thick blanket and my bum. I massaged his biceps and cleared my throat loudly.
"Hey Alex, um, listen."
"I'm naked dude." Luca sounded bored and I scoffed.
Alex quickly jumped off the bed, shivering dramatically.
"Ew, ew, ew, ew gross. I'll just be waiting outside."
Alex left Luca and me alone once again, and I was soon off of the bed making my way to the bathroom.
"Have I ever told you, that you are the most beautiful woman?"
I flipped my hair and winked at him, blowing him a kiss.
"I love you."
"I love you too darling."
***
I wrapped the scarf around my neck and slid on some gloves, waiting for Luca in the living room.
Aiden sat on the couch watching Elf, feet up on the coffee table. Daniel was sound asleep on the floor, snoring loudly.
"Aren't you both supposed to put lights on the outside?" I asked the lazy bums.
Aiden waved his hand toward the front door, burping.
"In 10 minutes, chill."
I scoffed and walked into the kitchen. Monica and Blake were making gingerbread cookies, while Hayden was reading a newspaper on the island.
He sipped on his coffee quietly.
"Morning Luna!" Monica stated.
"Good Morning."
I gave Hayden a side hug and grabbed a cup from the cabinets above both of us. Jade walked in with an ugly Christmas sweater.
It was hideous, bells and streamers were glued on the cheap material. She walked to the fridge, grabbing a juice box.
I went to the sink, grabbing some tap water to drink.
"Hey, Diana!"
"Hey, Jade! Where's Mia?" I asked.
She pointed behind herself, sipping from the straw before answering.
"Alex is watching her for me. He's wanting some time alone with her."
"Sweet,"
Aiden pushed the kitchen door roughly, scratching the back of his neck. He took a gingerbread cookie off of the tray that Monica had.
She smacked the back of his head and he shoved the gingerbread cookie toward her.
"You tryna get smacked?" Aiden spoke seriously.
Blake walked past him, also hitting him in the back of the head.
"Say that again, I dare you." Blake threatens.
Aiden looked at Monica and said,
"You tryna get smacked?"
Aiden threw the cookie at Blake's head and ran out of the kitchen with Blake chasing him.
I rolled my eyes and followed them out watching Luca walk down the stairs. He saw me and gave me a wide smile, showing a small dimple.
I walked up to him and gave him a hug while yelling for Alex.
"Alex! Come on! We are leaving!"
After a few moments, Alex ran down the stairs, rushing out of the front door.
"You ready to get that tree?"
"Yep."
***
Daniel's POV
"Just a little more to the right!" I yelled at Aiden.
He flipped me off and threw the lights beside him. Aiden butt-scooted his way to me, because of the angled roof.
"You do it."
I could do it. Right? Pfft. Yeah, of course, I could.
"Alright."
I crawled to the lights, soon holding them with my shaking hands. My breaths were visible from the cold air.
"O-okay, Aiden, be the best friend I know and spot me please."
Aiden nudged his head to me, letting me know I was in good hands. Or so I thought.
My foot slipped and it got tangled in the lights. I flew off of the roof until a sharp tug prevents me from plummeting to my death.
Aiden burst out laughing and held his stomach as he snorted. He was having a hard time breathing.
"O-OH MY GOD THAT WAS FREAKING HILARIOUS HAHA!"
"AIDEN ITS NOT FUNNY, HELP ME!" I yelled with fear. I prayed quietly.
"JAMES COME OUT HERE!" Aiden screamed.
James ran out of the house, along with Lena and Jade. They laughed and watched me hang from the roof of the Packhouse.
Oh, how I wish Diana was here.
***
Luca's POV
"Luca, honey look at this one!" Diana pointed.
It was the perfect tree. I mean, it could be a dead tree and I would choose it for her.
Alex agreed with her and patted the trunk of the tree. His teeth chattered from the freezing air and he sighed deeply.
"Alright, baby, lookout."
Christmas tree, we are taking you home.
***
Diana's POV
A doorbell rang.
Luca stopped adding decorations on the tree and wiped the glitter off of his hands as he made his way to the door.
"I got it!"
Luca opened the door and stepped aside for the guest to walk in. He grunted in annoyance, quickly walking up to me.
Xavier and Matt shuffled into the house, a few gifts in their hands. They greeted everyone before helping us decorate the tree.
"Merry Christmas!" I yelled happily.
Luca kissed me with great passion while everyone else yelled.
"Merry Christmas!"
*****
I awoke gasping for air, my eyelids fluttering swiftly. Jay sat up straight from the chair, wiping my eyes.
"Darling, what's wrong?" He asked worriedly.
I snuggled my face into the crook of his neck shaking my head back and forth.
"E-Everyone was here! James, Daniel, Monica, they were all here! Xavier and Matt were here! We were married!"
Jay held me tightly against his chest.
"Hey, it's okay, you're fine." Jay cooed at me.
"I-It seemed too real! Jay, Xavier was there, a-and he was alive,"
Jay kept quiet for a moment and held onto me, not letting go.
"Do...you want to talk about it?"
I nodded quickly and grabbed his hand, squeezing it for reassurance.
"It was Christmas Day, and we were married. You, Alex, and I went to get the Christmas tree while Aiden and Daniel were at home putting on Christmas lights. Daniel fell, Aiden laughed...so much happened."
"Dreams are like that my love." He spoke.
I couldn't stop thinking about Xavier. He seemed so alive and happy.
It was if Theo never killed him. What if the night at the ball never happened. He was never stabbed.
"Everyone was here. There was no war and we were happy."
Jay kissed my forehead.
"I feel like I shouldn't have let you sleep. But you looked so peaceful, so pure."
I really need the sleep but a false dream, literally, wasn't helping my situation of missing everyone.
It honestly hurt me physically.
"No, I'm glad I slept. It felt...good seeing everybody so happy and carefree."
I lied a bit but then again. It was nice the feel some sort of positivity.
"Well, I promise that once this is over. Every Christmas will be cherished with the group and pack."
I hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek multiple times.
"If this is over."
Jay scoffed army doubts and I tilted my head with my eyebrows raised.
"What?" I asked curiously.
"Trust me, I will end that son of a b*tch once and for all. Once we get Hayden and Blake here, we will talk about that plan of yours, "
Crap, the one that failed? Uh no, thank you.
I gave him a fake smile and nodded.
"Okaaay..."
I guess it's my turn, to tell the truth.
