Luna and her family moved again and now they're on the south side of Youngstown. She was starting 2nd grade at Williamson elementary it was October and she was kind of scared. She wanted to be pretty and not get made fun of so, she stopped eating. Nobody noticed but then again her parents were never home. She went to her bus stop and there were other people there. She recognized one of them because she was her cousin and lived down the street from her. Even though she saw her she didn't talk to her, she just kept to herself. Lilly was there too and she was starting kindergarten again. She wouldn't listen or do anything the year before so she had to repeat. The bus finally came and she got on and sat with her little sister. They had to go to the office first so they could know what was going on. After they were done Luna took Lilly to the class she was supposed to be in, then went to her own class. She walked in and was happy because nobody looked at her and laughed. The teacher told her to go to the seat by this girl named Mary. She sat down and Mary started talking to her. She was nice. Luna was so surprised and happy, she had finally made a new friend. She made lots of friends that year. But the older kids still made fun of her and some even hit her. She loved school though. It gave her an escape from home. Luna's mom stabbed Derrick in the neck one night when she was drunk and Luna saw it. She was so scared. She ran to her and her brothers room and made sure he didn't see any of it. Derrick went to the hospital and after that he was put in jail. She was really sad about this because Derrick protected her from her mom sometimes. After he got out they moved again to a house up the street.
