     shay just laughs. "nice going." she finds some mix on her fingers and then smudges it over top his nose. "cute." karl looks at the laptop to check himself out.

       he feels himself force a smile. "hey." he chuckles. "haha funny number." he looks to side to her. she bites her lip on anxiety, but still holds a slightly smile. she notices and looks back at him.

       in that moment, his heart broke. "um, so chat." he says with energy turning back to stream. "we might end it off here, i know it was short."

       the stream ends and shay just shrugs it off and smiles. "damnit did you time it?" she changes unwritten the subject.

      "shoot i don't think so." he quickly goes onto his phone to start a timer. she takes her phone and sits on the couch, he immediately follows. "look shay,"

      she bites her lip keeping something in, "i'm fine." she says quickly.

      karl didn't want to push, even though he desperately wanted to actually talk about it. "just-" he breathes. and impulsively hugs her tightly.

     for her that was enough, so she hugs back tightly. she sniffles.

     they stay tightly embracing, it was silent. but comfortable. it was a needed silence. with a tone from his phone, shay jumps scared.

"damnit." karl whispers and stands up to get the cake. the second he opens the oven the whole middle ground becomes filled with burnt smoke. "what the frick." he coughs.

"KARL!" she laughs running over to see the literal ash of a cake. "you are such an idiot." she wasn't serious, but he is practically burning their apartment complex down.

he laughs because he felt hers was genuine. "i-i swear i did thirty minutes just as it says!!"

    "what the fuck are you guys doing!?" jake stomps in from his room. "jesus shay!" jake joins in with a strong laugh.

     "IT WAS KARL!" she points her finger at the panicked boy who places the cake into the counters.

      he smiles at the cake. "it's cute."

      "that looks like it came out of a fucking volcano." jake looks at it. "the neighbors are probably thinking we're shooting the fucking good 4 u music video in here!"

      "karl, what are we gonna do with this?"

      jake immediately springs toward a drawer and pulls out a fork. "move bitch!" he shoves karl and starts to ear it. "nom nom."

      "how is it jakey."

       his energy quickly shuts down as he stars at his sister. "it's tastes like shit."

"ok this is going to the trash." karl takes the pan and shoves the remains in the trash can.

shay sighs with a smile, "i'm getting sleepy." she smiles cheekily at the boys.
