The Southern border
3rd person P.O.V
Tesla rode as fast as her cat could go. Decima and Luma close behind her. The paws of the two riding cats pounded the snowy ground as they ran. Flicking up clouds of white dust behind them.
"I can see the south gate!" Decima called, the large snow covered gates now appearing on the horizon. The exit to their Kingdom. Their escape. "Once we pass those, it's only a short ride to the border."
Tesla nodded and looked ahead, spotting large figures blocking the gate. Blocking their exit. "I think we have a problem."
All three girls stared out into the distance spotting what looked exactly like.... a Frost Giant. Lots of Frost Giants.
"There's so many of them." Luma whispered, staring at the dark figures with wide eyes. Scared, she buried her face into the soft further of her riding cat cub.
"We need to take to the skies." Tesla ordered, tightening her grip on the scuff of her flying cat.
Luma squeaked and gripped Decima tightly as Farla opened her wings and began to flap them. Slowly but surely both riding cats holding the princesses took to the skies. Climbing higher and higher.
However they did not go unnoticed.
A few Frost Giants spotted the riding cats with their passengers on their backs. "Survivors! Take them down!" They hollered.
The army began yelling as they tossed large icy spikes towards the last remaining ice elves.
Decima heard the angry yells of the Giants from bellow. Spotting the ice spikes heading towards them. "Look out!"
But it was too late.
Hundreds of ice spikes flew past them, and before they new what happened one struck Tesla's riding cat. Piercing straight through its chest.
Decima reached for Tesla's hand as the cat began to fall from the sky but she wasn't fast enough. Their fingers brushed for a mere second before Tesla was sent hurtling down towards the ground along with her cat.
Luma cried out as she watched her almost sister in law disappear from sight. "We have to save her!" She sobbed.
Decima was frozen. More sharp spike soared past her riding cat as it skillfully avoided being struck. But she princess was lost. She didn't know what to do.
"Decima! We need to go after her! She could be hurt! Decima plea-"
"No... no we need to reach the southern border."
"But sister... Tesla could be-!"
"Silence!" Decima growled, not meaning to be so harsh to the younger princess. "We must escape or we too shall die!"
Without further hesitation Decima flew her cat forward, making sure to avoid the oncoming spikes of ice.
Luma screamed and held Novar close to her. Her eyes were tightly shut but she could feel the spikes breezing past her, missing them by inches.
To the left. To the right. Up then down. Farla flew around the sky, wildly dodging the attacks thrown by the frost giants.
The closer they drew to the gate and walls the more hopefull Decima became. Although her heart stung knowing Tesla, her father and her brothers were most likely lost to her forever. Taking their place among the stars.
The Frost Giants grew more and more violent the closer the survivors got to escaping. But many of them began to tire so the number of spikes being thrown became less. Giving Decima exactly what she needed to escape.
As soon as she saw the opportunity she took it. A small window in the array of spikes opened and Farla flew forward, soaring over the wall and swooping to the other side.
Decima looked back to her ruined Kingdom, from this distance it looked peaceful and untouched. But she knew better. She knew of the horrors that had unfolded that day. And she wished to forget.
"Sister look!" Luma drew Decima's attention to a light that was coming from the sky in the distance. A long stream of light that travelled from somewhere in the clouds down to the earth.
"That must be where fathers friend is. It's right on the border."
Decima flew Farla forward even faster. Desperate to find her fathers friend, desperate to get help.
As they flew Luma noticed a sticky red substance on her hands. She wasn't sure what it was but she knew it was coming from her sister. But before she could alert Decima she cried out. "An army! Do you see it Luma? On the mountain!"
Luma looked past her sister to see hundreds, maybe even thousands of soldiers dressed in golden armour. "Are they safe to approach?"
"I hope so." Decima mumbled before allowing her cat to fly lower and eventually land in the snow just metres away from the foreign army.
The leader of the army had only one eye and rode a horse with 8 legs. He came to a halt upon seeing the two young princesses on the back of a riding cat.
Decima slid off of Farla and slowly approached the army. Luma remained behind, clutching Novar close as her sister walk away. "Are you the friend of my father? King Nefýn?"
"I am Odin. And yes. Your father and I are old friends." The man spoke kindly. "Your father? Where is he?"
"He was attacked. By the Frost Giants. Our brother fought along side him and I fear them all to be... dead." A sudden wave of dizziness and unbearable pain washed over Decima. Cause her to fall to her knees.
Luma noticed the red substance appear on the snow around her sister.
"She's wounded!" A large man with long blonde hair called as he hopped off his steed and ran to her side.
'Wounded?!' Luma's mind went into overdrive. She hand to realised her sister was wounded. And so badly.
"Decima!" She cried. Attempting to get off Farla. Unfortunately her foot got caught on the saddle as she jumped off. Causing her to tumble onto the snowy ground and allowing her small head to collide with a rock hidden beneath the surface of the snow.

Thor P.O.V
As soon as the young elf hit the ground she didn't get back up.
The one I held on my lap was hardly breathing as blood gushed from a wound in her abdomen. A small shard of ice had pierced her there.
I looked up to my father. Unsure of what to do.
"Take them both back to Asgard. Get them treated and healed as soon as possible." He ordered. "I will take the army to the kingdom to check for any survivors."
I nodded and a few soldiers came to help me with the two injured princesses. Leaving the eldest in the hands of the soldiers I approached the youngest as she lay in the snow. The riding cat next to her snarled as I got closer. "It's okay. It's okay. I'm going to help her." I soothe.
Kneeling down beside the unconscious princess I carefully scoop her up. Two more soldiers came to collect the riding cat, one picking up a small cub.
"My son. I shall meet you and your mother back at the palace when I am done here." My father said.
"Of course father. In your absence I will protect our people. And our guests." I looked down to the small child I held in my arms. And yes. I would protect her.
