Last of their kind

3rd person P.O.V

Luma's head was pulsing with pain as she slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurred as the only colours invading her vision were bright and considerably annoying. She attempted to shift but she felt as if she was being rocked or cradled like an infant.

She made a weak attempt to lift her head, to see who was carrying her. Her fuzzy vision made it hard to see the person fully, although she could definitely tell they were a man. A very large man.

The pain in her head grew more intense, allowing a cry of pain to escape her mouth.

"Don't not worry little one." A deep and noble voice echoed in a whisper. "You are safe now. You have my word."

Luma groaned as the pain in her head only grew. Her vision, still cloudy, became darker as she allowed herself to fall unconscious once more.

Thor looked down to the small blue elf cradled in his arms, her . His red cape was wrapped around her for warmth.

He was on his way to the palace healers. Although the bleeding from the small elves head had lessened, it had not stopped. He sighed, the trip to the healers always seemed to take longer when someone's life was at stake. He couldn't even use him hammer to get her over there in case it made her worse.

"Thor!" The sudden shout of his name drew his attention to the guards caring for the older female elf. His eyes landed upon her sickly form and his grip tightened around the bundle he was carrying.

She looked pale, almost white. Her dark navy hair had lost its colour and gone grey. She looked... dead... or that she was dying.

"Hurry! To the healers we don't have much time." Both Thor and a handful of guards broke forward in a sprint, the God tried hard to make sure the unconscious elf wrapped securely in his arms wouldn't be shaken about by his frantic movement's.

By the time they made it to the healers the eldest elf looked even worse and they feared her dead. Thor watched feeling almost... helpless as both elves were whisked away for treatment. They didn't even return his cape to him. Not that he cared, the cape was replaceable but the life it had cradled was not.

Hours had past before the first healer had even left, carrying swabs of fabric soaked in crimson blood. Thor had attempted to stop her and ask of the elves wellbeing when he was hushed and told the healers were still working on saving the lives of both of them. After that, more hours past as Thor grew impatient, just as he was about to barge in ask demand to know what was going on... someone called his name.

"Thor! Thor are you alright?" Frigga, Queen of all Asgard and Thor's mother rushed up to him, grabbing his large face in her small hands. "Your father told me everything, about the ice elves, about their Kingdom. And about our guests. How are they?"

The prince sighed. "I do not know mother. But I fear one may not survive." He hung his head, feeling he had not succeeded in saving the lives he was sworn to protect.

"Your highness?" A young woman dressed in a healers clothing stepped towards Thor and Frigga. "I have some unfortunate news."

Thor frowned and Frigga looked at the healer. "What is it?" She asked.

The healer gestured with her hand for both royals to follow her into the room. She lead them quietly over to a table where the eldest elf lay pale and still. Her medical robe was drenched in blood.

Thor glanced from the healer to the pale elf. "She looks near dead."

"That's because she is." The healer sighed, grabbing a white thin sheet and slowly pulling it over the young woman. "We tried but were unable to save her, her injuries from the attack continued to bleed until we lost her."

Frowning, Frigga looked at Thor. "I believe your father mentioned a younger elf." Looking from her son to the healer. "What is her condition?"

"The elven child is in a... bizarre state. Ice elves are biologically blue in hair and skin but then child experienced a metamorphosis of sorts. And one of our more expedienced healers has discovered a large amount of energy that resides inside of her." As the healer spoke, she moved fluidly into a smaller room; where the elf child lay unconscious, dressed in a white robe, while older healers examined her with a soul forge.

A bright light was pulsating at the young elves core. The healers muttered in confusion, trying to figure out what was causing such a large amount of energy to reside in her.

But what confused Thor the most, was that she looked like a completely different elf. Her skin and hair were no longer blue in colour, now her skin was much like his own, only paler. And her hair had gone white, like the snow that fell over her kingdom.

"How?" Thor questioned. "When I brought her into Asgard she was blue and now she looked as if she was born Asgardian."

One of the older healers turned to the Prince and Queen. "We are not sure of what happened, when we were tending to her wounds and made contact with her skin the blue pigmentation of her skin began to fade. Revealing a paler skin tone much like ours. Then once her skin was no longer blue her hair transformed aswell."

Frigga moved to look at the child, she was young and naive to the horrors that has fallen upon her kingdom. "Is her condition stable?" The queen asked.

The healers nodded. "Yes. Unlike the other, the child only suffered a head injury. Although it was severe she should be fine now. The only dilemma we have is the unruly amount of energy surging inside of her."

Thor stared at the soul forge that hovered above the young elf, it was unmistakable, the vast amount of energy resting within her. As if waiting for the right moment to burst free. "Mother... do you think-?"

"We must consult your father immediately." Frigga spoke urgently, she turned to the healers. "A room has been prepared for the child. When you feel she is ready please take her there. For now me and my son must speak with the king."

The healers nodded and began to prepare the elven child to be moved.

Thor followed his mother as she quickly left the room. "Mother, the prophecy? Do you think-?"

"Yes I believe the child you saved is the one destined to destroy the nine realms. But I cannot be sure." Frigga looked to her son. "Your father will know what to do."

Frowning, Thor continued to follow his mother towards the throne room. Reciting the prophecy in his head.

'A child born from ice and snow shall possess a power that can cause whole realms to crumble at their will. The path taken by this child and the choices made will either allow the realms to thrive with new life, or destroy all that ever existed. If the child is corrupted, may the gods have mercy on our souls."
