3. Alone with the Stars

I am alone with the stars,
Those twinkling diamonds of silver sheen.
I inhale the spicy fragrance
Of the woody, steadfast evergreens.

The moon hangs in the obsidian sky,
Like a lantern shining bright.
Lighting my way as my nocturnal guide —
Nature's eternal nightlight.

I'm alone with the stars;
Some are near, some are far.
As I fall asleep in peace,
The night covers me like a fleece;
The stars watch o'er me from afar.

I let my mind wander free,
As I sway 'twixt the trees.
For I am safe 'neath their covering,
From any dark, nightmarish thing;
I shall sleep in security.

As I inhale the fresh country air,
I gaze in wonder and awe
At the intricate beauty of Nature,
Founded and governed by God's Law.

No matter how many times I gaze
At those heavenly bodies above,
I will always be overwhelmed
At the endless depths of God's love.

I am grateful for the light given
By those flickering lanterns up on high.
Our eternal and faithful companions,
They watch over us from the night sky.

I'm alone with the stars;
Some are near, some are far.
As I fall asleep in peace,
The night covers me like a fleece;
The stars watch o'er me from afar.

I let my mind wander free,
As I sway 'twixt the trees.
For I am safe 'neath their covering,
From any dark, nightmarish thing;
I shall sleep in security.

The stars sparkle like opals of splendor,
Nature's rarest and most precious of gems,
Far-off and unobtainable, monarchs mourn
That such jewels cannot crown their diadems.

They set courses on celestial maps,
Our steadfast and trustworthy guides.
Astronomers and navigators seek
The charts and coordinates the stars provide.

Much knowledge, wisdom, and advice
Do these heavenly hosts obtain as treasure.
Eternal masters and experts of navigation,
Their contribution is without scale or measure.

I'm alone with the stars;
Some are near, some are far.
As I fall asleep in peace,
The night covers me like a fleece;
The stars watch o'er me from afar.

I let my mind wander free,
As I sway 'twixt the trees.
For I am safe 'neath their covering,
From any dark, nightmarish thing;
I shall sleep in security.

They are the keepers of our dreams,
They staunchly guard us as we slumber.
The fiery suns of the night overcome the darkness,
For none can match up to their numbers.

I am alone with the stars
Near an ever-running stream.
As I hear its sweet music,
I journey to the realm of dreams.

I am alone with the stars,
Here on this beautiful night.
I lay on my hammock, content;
I think I shall sleep here tonight.
