The rush of adrenaline Luka got when he watched a once dead body sit up and open its eyes was like lightning had struck him. For a moment he feared it'd backfire and go all zombie on him. But luckily, he'd worded the wish correctly and Emilie Agreste was now reborn.

She seemed dazed a moment, looking around in confusion and slightly jumping in fright when she saw the glowing eyes of Luka in the Cat Noir suit.

"Oh my gods that worked- ok, uh... hi? Listen I know this is all insane but uh... you've been dead for 3 years. I'm your sons boyfriend and he's... akumatized? I guess. He's frozen, under the effect of the butterfly miraculous and you're the only one that can fix this" Luka managed to spill out.

Emilie blinked, confused and barely even comprehending what was going on.

"The butterfly mira- I told Gabriel not to use it anymore why is he... did he do all this?" Emilie asked, gesturing around to the thick fog.

"Yeah... he's kind of completely lost his mind... you'll not like what he's done to Adrien..." Luka replied, sorry to have to break such news to her.

The sound of her sons name made her immediately perk up, she jumped to action attempting to climb out of the freezer she sat in. Only to fall to the ground with how weak her body had become. She was dead for 3 years after all, she'd need to rebuild all her strength again. Luka tried to catch her, managing to lessen her fall a bit, and helped her up.

"Adrien, where is he?" She asked.

Luka sighed, shining the baton light through the dark fog to where Adrien was frozen in place. Emilie gasped in horror seeing the state if her baby boy, bruised and bloodied.

"Adrien!" She exclaimed, scrambling to him and bringing her hands up to his cheeks "what happened to you my baby..?"

"Gabriel happened. I'm sorry you have to find out this way... he's been attacking the city for years trying to get the miraculous. He's taken out all his anger on Adrien, he's let Nathalie get deathly sick, he's tried to keep Adrien away from his friends... I don't know the full story but Adrien says Felix is acting weird too. The whole family fell apart when you died..." Luka explained.

Emilie stared down at her son, teary eyed in absolute horror. She could've believe things had gotten this bad, she never thought Gabriel could sink that low. She knew he could be irrational but...

"You... said your Adrien's boyfriend?" She spoke up.

"Yeah, his dad doesn't know though. We've been together for... maybe a year now? He had the cat miraculous, but his kwami bought it to me before Gabriel could get it..." Luka explained.

"And you used that wish... on me. To bring me back for Adrien? Even though you could have wished for anything else?"

"You're the only one who can fix this. And besides, my dreams are things I can achieve with work and passion. I'd be glad to give up my wish for Adrien, he deserves it more than I do"

Even though she'd only just met this boy, just the fact he's given up a once in a life time chance to save her son proved to her that he truly did love Adrien more than anything. She didn't care he was a boy, only that Adrien was happy and safe.

"What do I have to do..?" She said.

"As soon as I de-akumatize him, the fog will vanish and Gabriel will be altered that I'm here. He'll come back to fight me, likely to try and stop Adrien from running off too. But if he sees you alive he'll be completely thrown off guard and I can ambush him and take the miraculous off him" Luka explained.

"Ones he's disarmed... I can say whatever I want to him?"

"Do what you need to"

Just from the look in her eyes, Luka knew she was going to absolutely tear him apart. He totally had to see this. He looked for the akuma object on Adrien, realising it was the guitar pick necklace he'd gifted him. Snapping the chain in half, the akuma flew out and it was a quick snatch up and purify. Immediately the fog began to retreat and the light returned to the room, revealing just how big this lair actually was. Adrien suddenly came back to reality, able to move around again.

He looked around confused for a moment, before lying his eyes on his mother. Now alive, weak, but alive.

"Mum?" He muttered.

"Hey sweetheart..." she smiled.

"MUM!"

He dove into her arms, the two crushing each other in a tight hug. Lots of tears, lots of quiet muttering of 'I love you' and 'it'll be alright'. Luka just smiled, happy to see Adrien get the parent he deserved back.

"Adrien honey, you have better taste in men than I do. You have to thank... uh, I didn't catch your name..." Emilie said.

Luka was about to tell her, but Adrien whipped around and scrambled over to him pulling him into a tight hug as well.

"LUKA! I knew you'd come for me, thank you, thank you, I love you so much!" Adrien exclaimed.

Luka returned the hug, adding a kiss on the cheek.

"Of course I'd come for you, you did good having Plagg come find me. That was quick thinking" Luka replied.

"My suit looks good on you" Adrien smiled, wiping the tears from his eyes.

Luka snickered, of course that was the first think he noticed.

"Thanks. Look as much as I want to baby you and have you and your mum talk and stuff, Gabriel will be back any minute. You need to hide, I've already explain to your mum what to do" Luka explained.

"Ok, bring me up to the rafters with you" Adrien replied.

Luka turned to Emilie, who'd gathered the strength to prop herself up against the freezer.

"As soon as this is over you're going to hospital, both of you are. You think you can handle this?" Luka asked.

"I can, I have to" Emilie replied.

As if on cue, there was banging above them, telling them Gabriel was back. Luka took Adrien and took him up into the rafters where they watched from above as Gabriel dropped down the elevator shaft ready to fight, but immediately that anger simmered when he saw Emilie standing.

"Em-Emilie?!" He gasped.

"Gabriel..." she said, trying to hold herself together.

Gabriel went to rush over to her, but Emilie spoke up.

"Don't! Don't touch me... I'm sore and... freezing" she said.

That wasn't a total lie, she was. But she just didn't want the man who could hurt her son touching her really.

"Emilie how did... what happened? Are you ok? How did this all-"

Before he could even finish, Luka dropped down and tackled him to the ground. Using ladybugs yo-yo to bind him and snatched off the butterfly and peacock miraculouses.

"I think that's enough terrorism for you" Luka said.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?! What is the meaning of all this?!"

"And this ring you tried to steal doesn't belong to you either now does it? In fact it doesn't belong to me either"

Luka slipped off the cat ring, leaving just the ladybug on him. He tossed it up to Adrien, who was quick to catch it and transform again, slipping back down to face his father. In anger he grabbed his father by the hair and pulled him up off the floor to face him.

"All this effort to bring mum back and you really thought she'd let everything you did to me slide? You didn't want to revive her, you wanted to rewrite history so you had full control over her and the family again. Face it, you didn't do this for love. You did this for power" Adrien snapped.

"Gabriel I TOLD you not to do this. I specifically asked you on my death bed to never touch the miraculous again. And not only did you terrorise Paris with them, but you key Nathalie get sick and you HURT. MY. SON" Emilie seethed.

Gabriel tried to fight out of the yo-yo wires, but they were too tight and too strong. He pathetically tried to wriggle toward Emilie, who responded by kicking him away.

"You're not my husband, you aren't the man I married. You hurt my baby Gabriel, that I can never forgive. We're done, divorced. You're going to jail for what you've done, and I'm taking Adrien and Nathalie and living like you never existed. I can't believe you thought I'd be ok with any of this" she snapped.

"Emilie please-"

"No. That's final. Come on Adrien, let's go call the police..."

Adrien helped his mother up, wrapping her arm around him and giving her a smile. Finally, he could have some semblance of peace in his life.

"I'll make sure he doesn't think about trying to escape" Luka said, letting the other two head back upstairs.

Using the yo-yo, Luka tied him to the support beams, rendering him completely defenceless.

"Who even are you? You're not ladybug, you've never even had a miraculous before. And you show up and ruin my life?! You used the wish to bring my wife and and turn her against me for what? Just to torture me?!" Gabriel spat.

"You know maybe if you paid any attention to your son other than abusing him, you'd know those answers. I'm his boyfriend, I have been for a year. But you didn't know that because you're so hateful he was scared to tell you. I used the wish to bring Emilie back because I love Adrien, and he deserves a parent that actually loves him. That, and bringing her back was the best way to bring you down" Luka replied.

Gabriel was silent a moment, taking all that in.

"You... you're that band kid aren't you? I always knew you were a bad influence..." he glared.

"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Point is, you just lost your wife, son, fame and livelihood. That's called the consequences of your own actions. You did all this for power and now, you have none. Emilie hates you, Adrien hates you... the whole world will hate you. And you're one of the only people on the planet that actually deserves the hate, usually I'd say everyone is deserving of love. But you? You know what they do to child abusers in prison right?" Luka sassed.

Gabriel rambled, yammered on. All until the police and paramedics arrived and took him away, and Emilie and Adrien to hospital. Luka slipped out before anyone could see him, he didn't want all this attention when he wasn't even the actual ladybug. He fixed the akuma damage, slipped the earrings back into Marinette's room and checked in at home to make sure his family was ok before heading over to the hospital to check on Adrien and his mother.

Luckily, Adrien was fine physically. Just some gauze and a missing tooth. A few bruises, but nothing dire. Emilie was deemed to be stable, she'd have to learn to walk again, but she wasn't on deaths door anymore. Luka found Adrien sitting on the end of his mothers bed in her hospital room, the two talking like no time had passed at all. He beamed when he saw Luka walk in, scrambling over to leap into his arms and attack his face with kisses. The display told Emilie all she needed to know. Adrien truly loved Luka, and after all that had happened she trusted him with her son.

Now seeing him out of the miraculous suit, she found he looked like a completely normal, albeit a bit emo, teenage boy. No red flags, nothing to be worried about.

"So that entire thing was a total shit show... but at least you can actually meet my mum properly now!" Adrien smiled.

"After all you've told me about her, I'm sure we'll get along" Luka replied.

"After all he's told me about you in the past few hours, I'm sure we'll get along too. Thank you for taking care of him while I was gone. Although I wish we could have met under better circumstances" Emilie added.

Things were definitely not how anyone would expect a boyfriend to meet his lovers parents, but hey... nothing was ever normal in a city where magic is involved.

"We can just forget the past 7 or so hours and pretend this is the first meeting" Adrien snickered.

"Sounds good to me. Nice to meet you Adrien's boyfriend, I'm Emilie" Emilie said, holding out her hand to shake.

Luka smiled, taking it and shaking her hand. Glad to know she'd deemed him a worthy boyfriend for her miracle baby.

"Nice to meet you Adrien's mum, I'm Luka"
