Hype boy
A/n: it's been a hot second since I drew the boys so here's my most recent art of them and a oneshot to go with it. And yes this is inspired by the new jeans song I'm obsessed with it. Did a more not quite chibi bit cartoony?? Style.
No one was more supportive than Luka. Any problem you had, Luka would be there to help you. As good of a person as he was, he was such a big support, no one who knew him would be surprised if he'd agree to helping them break out of jail or hide a body. Not that it'd ever go THAT far (hopefully). He was the ever exhausted mum friend of the group, full of love and support, willing to drop everything for the ones he loved.
So when Adrien wanted to enter his rebellious teenager 'fuck you dad' phase, Luka was completely on board. It was actually Nino who convinced him, that man wanted to fist fight Gabriel himself if he could. But since he had a girlfriend and his own family to be with, he didn't have as much time to help Adrien rebel as he wished he did. He definitely did help when he had the time for it, but Adrien's number one hype boy here was Luka.
Need help sneaking out? Luka would come pick him up.
Wanted to try alcohol for the first time but didn't want to get shitfaced? Luka would make sure he was ok.
Wanted to eat copious amounts of junk food his model diet didn't allow? Luka would have snacks ready for him.
Dad said no to the party? Dad doesn't need to know about it, Luka would cover him.
It was a lot easier too given Luka could drive, he'd was the first in the group to get his licence because by some magic he managed to pass on the first test. And he definitely didn't mind being the designated driver if it meant he got to go have fun with Adrien, watch him drop the 'perfect son' facade and be himself.
Adrien's rebel streak was going well, although he wasn't totally irresponsible. He drew the line at drugs and shoplifting, dumb shit like that other teens his age got into when they fell into the wrong crowds. But he wanted the thrill, he'd grown to enjoy it. The feeling of 'my dad would kill me if he knew' was almost addicting. He felt so free, he could have fun, he could be himself. And while getting caught would definitely be bad news, there was also a bit of a silver lining in the fact he was basically giving his dad a massive middle finger.
Adrien had texted Luka that day during lunch break, asking if they could sneak out that night. He wasn't sure where too, he just wanted to be out after a long week of school and modelling stuff. Luka was of course, on board. Any excuse to drive around and blast his music, as well as see Adrien finally able to be himself. They organised to meet up at the street corner at 10pm, and sure enough they were there right on the dot. Adrien jumping into the passenger seat and letting Luka pick the destination. Luka figured somewhere quiet would be nice, so he took route to a park by the canals he'd been to before. They parked under the street lights, took off their seatbelts to face each other properly and like usual, began to yap. Talking about anything and everything. School drama, family gossip, how shit the movies coming out lately have been, all kinds of random things. Until the topic circled about around to Adrien's recent rebel streak.
"So like... I'm pretty sure Nathalie knows what I'm up to but doesn't care because she trusts you" Adrien explained.
"Yeah I won't let you get shitfaced or anything, all we do is get food and see movies and stuff" Luka replied.
"And if we do get a little tipsy it's always at your house where it's safe anyway"
"I think you're getting addicted to the rush of sneaking out"
"It's the only damn freedom I get, of course I'm addicted. You're not helping by feeding into it" Adrien snickered.
"Hey it's not like doing drugs or anything like that, this is a perfectly fine addition to have"
Adrien wasn't sure what it was about driving around at night, but something about it felt almost liminal in a way. Like time didn't exist and he could just forget about everything going on in his life.
"You're my hype boy here, I can be as rebellious as I want with you... within reason" Adrien chuckled.
"Yeah don't get arrested or anything, but I'll help you buy junk food at midnight and drink soju in my bedroom" Luka snickered.
"You know how to get me hyped"
"Next I should dye your hair, that'll really get a reaction from your dad"
He'd thought about that actually, Nathalie had dyed hair so it's not like there's a no hair dye in the household rule. It'd made Gabriel a real hypocrite, but then again Adrien wouldn't put that past his dad. He's like green streaks, the same kind of style to Draculauras pink ones from monster high, just in green. But he was admittedly a little nervous about that big of a difference given his dad's perfect model son rules. So maybe he start a bit more subtle, like one black streak or darker tips.
"That's on my list. That and kiss a boy, that'd make him real mad" Adrien said.
"How can he literally be in the fashion industry and get worked up over the gays T-M" Luka replied.
"Man I have no idea. I think it's an image thing, like he wants the perfect nuclear family look. Husband, wife, kid, fancy house, successful company. Never mind the fact that already fell apart when his wife literally died-"
Sometimes it have Luka a little whiplash hearing the dead mum jokes. But Adrien coped with humour, and he'd had years to grieve and heal at this point. So a dead mum joke here and there didn't really phase Adrien much anymore. In fact he'd even put a sun hat on her headstone and taken a selfie with it on Mother's Day and sent them to the friend group chat captioned 'chillin with mum, happy Mother's Day'. How on earth a literally child at the time could learn to cope better than a grown ass man could was beyond both Adrien and Luka.
"Whatever the reason, you should just be the gayest man on the planet as soon as you're out of his house just to spite him" Luka said.
"Absolutely, I'm going to become so obnoxiously rainbow covered. A walking stereotype, a personified pride parade" Adrien agreed.
Any time sexuality came up, neither of them could deny the urge to do something with each other coming up. They were both bi, single and even if they'd not really said anything out loud about it, they both really liked each other. All these 'haha gay' jokes were laced with a layer of truth and silent yearning.
"Nothing gayer than literally kissing a man to spite your dad" Luka snickered.
"Exactly, ugh you so get me" Adrien chuckled.
"Bi to bi communication"
"We're on the same wavelength, why have a girlfriend when men exist and are hot?"
"Exactly! Leave the girls for each other"
Some laughter and smiles at each other, and a moment of eye contact made them quiet for a moment, feeling the undeniable tension in the air of the small space that was the interior of the car. If the chance was there, and Luka was sworn in hyping Adrien up... then why not take it?
"It's already pretty gay to be sneaking out with the same guy and sleeping over at his house every few weeks" Luka muttered.
"Why do you think I always do it? For the thrill of freedom and because hello, how could I say no to sharing a bed with a cute boy?" Adrien replied, pink slightly tinting his cheeks.
"So why haven't you kissed me yet?"
Gods, making him blush was so easy and such a cute sight. Luka couldn't help but smile cheekily over it.
"Because... I wasn't sure if-" Adrien began.
"This is me giving you consent" Luka replied.
Adrien processed a moment, taking a second to fully realise this was it. His chance he'd been waiting for, the ultimate hype act. And something he'd just wanted to do for a while now anyway. He practically dove over the centre console, pulling Luka in by the shoulders and pressing his lips against the boys pierced ones. Luka was quick to reciprocate, returning the kiss and grabbing Adrien by the waist to pull him in over to his seat.
They weren't sure how long they ended up making out in the front seat, but by the time they'd needed a moment to collect themselves from the frenzy of desperate kisses and and wandering hands, the windows had fogged up.
For a moment they simply stared at each other, Adrien down at Luka from his position in his lap. The dim light from the street lights the only thing illuminating them and allowing the blush on their cheeks to be visible. For a moment, they processed. Any further? Or stop here and save it for a better time? Or... maybe something in between?
"Would... you... if you want that is-" Luka spoke up, stammering slightly.
"I... yeah. But maybe like... halfway? The back seat is kind cramped..." he replied, face burning.
That was fine by Luka, and simply a fact. His car was small, there wasn't much room to move in the back seat. So maybe the full act could wait for the next secret sleepover, for now...
"Don't worry, I'll hype you up" Luka assured.
"You always do" Adrien smiled.
"If you're even half as good as you are at kissing, then you're worthy of all the hype"
