Ghost boy (part 1)

A/n: since homicipher is my latest hyperfixation y'all are getting an AU. Dw you don't have to have played the game to understand this, I'll explain it all within the story. The ghost text is in windings btw.

When Adrien left the house in his raincoat to get away from his dad for a while, he expected that coat to get wet with you know, rain. But here he was, covered in blood.

There was this old abandoned building in the run down part of the city, there were a ton of rumours about it but Adrien never really believed them. He didn't really know why he decided to go into the building, he was just in a weird headspace post fighting with his dad and when he passed it, some part of him decided to see why there were rumours about it. So, he walked in. And now he couldn't get out. It was like the second he stepped into that building, it completely consumed him, halls seemingly changed when he turned the corner and despite only walking maybe three rooms in, when he turned around he couldn't find the door he came in from anymore. Now he knew why there were rumours about it, not only was it an old, creepy looking run down building that looked perfect for a drug addict to trip in, but it was absolutely haunted too.

When the panic of not being able to find his way out set in, he only had about five minutes to process that before the panic changed to a different kind. He could hear footsteps, someone else was in the building. In a desperate attempt to defend himself from whatever was around the corner, he picked up a crowbar from the rubble scattered around the room and held it up defensively bracing for whatever was about to round the corner. He backed himself into a corner so nothing could come up behind him, shaking in fear as he listened to those footsteps approaching. They stopped, it was silent for a moment, Adrien held his breath.

Then she appeared. A girl in a red trench coat holding a spotted umbrella over her head, obscuring her face. Adrien simply stared in confusion for a moment, what this a ghost? How did she appear like that?

"H-hello?" He said, unsure what to do.

In a flash, the girl suddenly appeared right in front of him. He gasped in fright, watching as she slowly lifted her umbrella to reveal her face. Her hair was tied into two messy pigtails and her eyes were... soulless. Empty and completely black. There was an uncanny smile on her face, and she was deathly pale.

"☝︎♓︎❖︎♏︎ ■︎♋︎❍︎♏︎" she spoke.

What? What language was that? It just sounded like a garbled mess. Whatever language this creature spoke, Adrien didn't understand a single word of it, it didn't sound like any human language at all.

"What..?" Adrien replied.

"☝︎♓︎❖︎♏︎ ■︎♋︎❍︎♏︎"

The girl stepped closer to him, his hands trembled as his grip tightened on the crowbar.

"☝︎♓︎❖︎♏︎ ■︎♋︎❍︎♏︎. 🕈︎♏︎ ♍︎♋︎■︎ ♌︎♏︎ ⧫︎□︎♑︎♏︎⧫︎♒︎♏︎❒︎"

"W-who are you? What do you want?" Adrien stammered.

Whatever it wanted, Adrien wasn't complying and it only made the ghost more agitated. She suddenly reached out her hand, gripping Adrien by the neck with an alarming amount of force. In panic and survival mode, Adrien swung the crowbar at her arm, causing a splat of blood to paint the front of his raincoat and the girl to drop him. This thing... it could bleed? Wasn't it a ghost? Do ghosts have blood?

No time to ponder on that now, Adrien simply scrambled away and panted for breath. The girl stared down at her bleeding arm, for a moment, before her neck snapped toward Adrien and after an unsettling moment of staring, the uncanny smile turned to a chaotic wide mouthed expression, and she was after him. Adrien sprang to his feet, running out the room and down the hallway as fast as his legs could carry him, he didn't know where he was going, but it had to be far away from that... thing. That red girl, the Miss Ladybug Adrien would eventually come to call her, because of her red spotted umbrella. He ran down hallways, scrambled up stairs, broke down locked doors with the crowbar all until he couldn't hear the footsteps chasing him anymore. In a random hall was when he ran out of breath and needed to stop for a moment. Leaning against the wall puffing for air, he processed what the fuck just happened.

He was trapped in a haunted building, with a ghost who spoke gibberish and was after him for some reason. He needed to find that exit, FAST. When he'd bent down to lean his hands on his knees, he noticed something more alarming than the blood on his raincoat. His hands... they were... decaying? His skin looked dry, cracked and slightly red. It was like simply being here, or maybe that ghost touching him, was having some sort of effect on his body.

"What the fuck- what the fuck!?" He gasped to himself, looking at his hands back and front.

He didn't feel much different... but clearly something was happening to him. Before he could even process that, a noise caught his attention and he immediately looked up and around in fright. It wasn't footsteps this time, it was... dragging? Like someone was carrying a weight across the ground. It drew closer for a moment, before abruptly stopping. Adrien held the crowbar on guard, looking around for the source of the noise. The long hallway was empty, there were no doors in this hall either. Then he spotted it, another person. Peeking from around the corner, looking at him curiously. This figure was seemingly sitting down, had long dark hair covering its face with what looked to be blue tips. It wore what looked like an oversized and ripped up band shirt of some kind. And it just watched... Adrien couldn't see its eyes, but he could feel it's gaze. He wasn't sure if he should run away from this ghost too, or take a closer look. He couldn't even make that decision though, because the footsteps of Miss Ladybug were back, coming from the way we came. He had no choice but to run toward the other ghost and hope it left him alone to avoid being caught by Ladybug. He turned on his heels and ran up the hall, hoping if he just stayed arms length away from the other ghost he could avoid it. He rounded the corner, thinking he'd managed to dodge it when he was suddenly on the ground with a weight atop him. The corner ghost grabbed him, had crawled over him. Before he could scream, it put a hand over his mouth to keep him quiet.

The ghosts long hair fanned out around them, and despite being so close up, Adrien could still barely see its eyes. He could however see scarring under the fringe, and a tiny peek of what seemed to be glassy eyes that were once blue. Like the ghost had something damage the eyes and make him partially blind. The footsteps grew closer, closer... and over the ghosts shoulder Adrien watched Ladybug pass them by without noticing him.

Did... did this ghost just protect him? Hide him from Ladybug?

When she was out of sight and around the next corner, the long haired ghost sat up, letting Adrien sit up too.

"💧︎♒︎♏︎ ♎︎♋︎■︎♑︎♏︎❒︎□︎◆︎⬧︎. ☠︎□︎ ♑︎♓︎❖︎♏︎ ■︎♋︎❍︎♏︎." He said.

Again with the weird language... although the tone of this ghost didn't seem aggressive like the other one did. It seemed relived. Like he knew Ladybug was bad news for Adrien and was glad she was gone.

"I... I don't understand you" Adrien replied.

The ghost tilted his head in confusion hearing the language Adrien spoke. He reached forward, although not aggressively like Ladybug did. Instinctively though, Adrien still flinched and backed away. The ghost paused, thinking for a moment. He shook his head, pointing to Adrien. Was he trying to say he wasn't going to hurt him? Adrien gave him an intrigued look. The ghost shifted his position to sit cross legged... kind of. His legs... they were broken. Covered in bruises and slightly misshapen. That must be the source of the dragging noise, he couldn't walk, he was crawling. Adrien quickly realised that this ghost, who he'd come to nickname Band Shirt, wasn't harmful. If he wanted to get out of here, he needed to understand what the hell these ghosts were saying. Maybe this one could help him, he'd already protected him once.

"You... nice? Adrien asked, pointing to him and giving him a thumbs up.

Band Shirt seemed to understand the gestures, because he replied by attempting to mimic Adrien's words so he could understand.

"N-n... eye-sss. Nice" he replied.

Oh wow... the ghost had a nice voice now Adrien could understand it.

"You help me?" Adrien asked, pointing to himself, then to the ghost.

"Me... help... you" Band Shirt replied.

Adrien had no clue what the hell was going on quite frankly, but this ghost was being nice and he needed all the help he could get in this situation. If this nice ghost who seemingly died a tragic death was willing to help him, then fuck it, he'd take it.
