Fixing miraculous

Not a oneshot bc I still got fucking writers block, but I HAVE been thinking about ways I'd fix the plot holes and whack storyline of miraculous. So I figured I'd share, so y'all can use these as fix it fic inspo if you want. And just to rant about the show writers incompetence.

So, here's how I'd fix miraculous.

season 1 was fine, although I'd put the origins episodes at the beginning obviously. Season one being mostly run of the mill stuff is perfectly fine since it establishes the world and the basics of the characters. The first season doesn't need to be overly complex.

season 2 I'd start getting into the lore. Keep the Gabriel Hawkmoth reveal here, and keep some episodes similar to season one so we can slowly enter the more heavy things without it being too jarring.

•Master Fu isn't a dumbass and explains all the miraculous things to BOTH Ladybug and Cat Noir. Because they're meant to be equals, and to prevent further secret keeping and fighting between them. They both deserve to know the backstory of the miraculous and the extra powers they can gain.

•Nathalie comes in as Mayura but it quickly becomes apparent she's reluctant about it. That she's only doing this because she's loyal to the Agreste family. Once she starts getting sick, she starts to become more apprehensive about the whole thing. As Gabriel starts pushing the goal posts on his plans, she starts to feel regret and remorse and by the end of the season uses being sick as an excuse to stop helping him. When she stops, it gets revealed she initially agreed to help because she also wanted Emilie back (in a gay way) but realises this is going too far and Emilie would hate that this is happening.

•her seeing Gabriel starting to loose his mind is what pushes her to start getting extra mother-y toward Adrien, and for a while longer she's still internally battling her regrets and guilt while she decides weather or not it'd be best to do something to keep Adrien out of everything.

•during these akuma/senti monster battles some of the new heroes come in.

•also I'd just straight up not even have some of the more pointless miraculous that barely ever get used. Only those with universal practical powers like the fox, snake, turtle and bee are needed and used alongside the cat and bug.

•the bunny is still used, but it's a pretty mysterious miraculous that only gets one full episode or far, which introduces Alix as the holder and lays the foundations for time travel and multiverses.

•by season 2s end, the hero team is established, we're seeing the beginning of Gabriel's decent into madness, Nathalie is starting to turn on him and Fu has explained all the needed lore on the miraculous' powers.

season 3 enter Luka and Kagami. I'd put Luka in the same school, just in a different class since usually schools do have more than one class per year group. He could just be in the gifted music program or something explaining why he's barely been seen until now.

•Kagami goes to school too, just in the gifted kids program meaning she's also on a different class. She transfers in mid-year.

•by this point, the love square is starting to crumble. LB has fully rejected Cat and he (being shit at social cues) just took a few times to fully understand she's not just playing around, she's serious. So he stops going after her. Takes a moment to be sad about it but mostly moves on as they stay friendly.

•Marinette is still obsessed with Adrien, but her friends are starting to go "ok she's going too far" and are trying to gently pry her away from him.

•Gabriel teams up with Tomoe. Starts pressuring Adrien to be friends with Kagami. They do actually become decent friends, but the relationship thing feels awkward and forced so they just fake it to shut their parents up.

•Enter Felix and Amilie for family reunion. Amilie is just glad to see Adrien but Felix is acting off. Adrien chalks it up to him still being depressed over loosing his dad.

•Felix snatches his ring, knows Gabriel is sketchy af and Nathalie being sick is suspicious as hell. Doesn't act on it yet.

•Gabriel's madness is starting to leak out of his hawkmoth side into his civilian self, Adrien starts noticing that he's not just 'strict' anymore, he's actually abusive. He turns to Nathalie for comfort.

•in between the lore episodes, the friend groups dynamics are built upon. Adrien and Luka get closer, Marinette and Kagami get closer. Zoe enters the group, the background ships are built upon (Alya and Nino, Nath and Marc, Rose and Jeules etc)

•Marinette tries to get over Adrien by going for Luka. Doesn't really work and she only ends up accidentally leading him on so she decides it's best to break things off. That actual break up happens first thing season 4 though.

•also throughout seasons 1-3, Chloe's while mean girl thing is dissected. At first she seems like a typical mean girl, eventually reveals her mummy issues and spineless dad. Which gives her a reason as to why she's the way she is. Her redemption and changing for the better doesn't happen just yet, she has to hit rock bottom first.

•so season 3 ends with the whole queen wasp battle leaving Marinette AND Adrien joint guardians (they split the miraculous between them, so there's less pressure on just one of them and for safety. If one of them is found out and all their miraculous ceased, there's still the other half of the miraculous safe). Chloe looses miraculous rights, Adrien basically tells her get help and maybe then I'll be your friend again.

season 4 starts with the Lukanette breakup and through akuma. This lets the Jagged is the twins dad reveal happen, and gives Marinette a wake up call that her boy issues are affecting others so she swears off romance until she gets her shit together.

•Adrien and Kagami agree that they're not really even in a relationship, they're just putting it on for the cameras because their parents want it. So they agree to just fake it and won't get jealous or angry about each other seeing other people.

•Nathalie is chronically ill at this point, Adrien is worried sick. Gabriel is lashing out more and more, Nathalie is pretty defenceless to help so all Adrien can really do is hide in her room when his dad is mad. Through this they get even more mother-son. Nathalie is still debating telling Adrien the truth, but it's here Adrien learns that she and his mother were closer than he thought and Nathalie was in love with her, not his dad like he thought.

•by now hawkmoth is using the butterfly and fixed peacock. The akumas are getting more and more violent and desperate for the miraculous meaning the full hero team is called upon more often.

•Felix shows back up, basically telling Adrien his dad is insane. At first Adrien is in a bit of denial as is usual for abuse victims. But after Felix explains the whole story with his own dad being abusive too, Adrien accepts that yeah his dad is nuts. He gets pretty upset over it, turns to Luka for comfort. This kickstarts Lukadrien going from friends to the verge of lovers. Adrien turns to Nathalie for the "help I like boys" thing. She assures him it's ok and his mother would be proud of him.

•Felix still hasn't explained the senti thing yet though. He's got plans to try and steal the other ring for Adrien.

•wishmaker happens. Luka knows. Cue him going "oh fuck Adrien is Cat Noir, that explains so much. Oh shit Marinette is ladybug that's why she was always ditching me" this gives him a bit of closure on the breakup and only makes him face his feelings for Adrien more.

•Adrien and Luka both know each other's identities now, but don't know it yet.

•After some denial and moping alone, Chloe realises she fucked up and starts trying to fix things starting with her sister and Sabrina.

•Adrien is practically living at Lukas place trying to avoid his dad, plenty of Lukadrien time and eventually, a proper confession and canon ship. Adrien tells Luka everything about his dad, Nathalie, Felix etc. Luka agrees to help where he can.

•Kagami notices Adrien starting to turn away from his father and wants to try and turn away from her mother too. Marinette and Adrien help her through that.

•season 5 ends with hawkmoth's worst attack yet. Absolute destruction and the heroes just barely manage to win. LB and CN agree that this is going way too far and they need to track down Hawkmoth ASAP, and work toward basically upgrading their miraculous to be stronger.

•season 6 starts with the aftermath of that battle. Gabriel has completely lost it, goes on this massive villain rant to a very sick Nathalie who essentially goes "fuck he's actually going to kill someone I NEED to do something-"

•this leads to her finally telling Adrien EVERYTHING. His dad is hawkmoth, she was Mayura, the senti thing, all of it. He's obviously devastated, but Nathalie assures him it'll be ok and she'd getting him out of there. She contacts Luka's family and basically says "hey I'm trying to escape Gabriel's abusive ass, can you guys hide Adrien while I figure things out?" Adrien goes to stay with Luka and leans on him for support.

•when Gabriel finds out Nathalie basically snuck his son away from him and turned on him, he goes ballistic. But she's sick enough she can't really fight back and ends up akumatized.

•Adrien now knowing everything is able to point the heroes toward Gabriel being hawkmoth, battle ensues.

•a lot of mess, a lot of emotions, a lot of destruction. Eventually they corner Gabriel and in a last ditch effort to spite the heroes, he tosses the butterfly miraculous onto the canal system and it gets washed away. They retrieve the peacock though.

•the whole plan and motives are unraveled. It takes everything in Adrien to not cataclysm him right then and there. Nathalie is rushed right hospital once shes de-akumatized.

•Gabriel arrested and charged, Nathalie is let off since it's agreed she was coerced and her now permanent chronic illness is punishment enough. She lives, but is now crutch and wheelchair bound. She has custody of Adrien, Amilie would have been next of kin but she agreed Nathalie is more of a mother than she could be to Adrien.

•from season 1-now the Lila story has been slowly unfolding a couple of Lila centric eps each season have slowly painted the picture she's a pathological liar, has a double life and is clearly planning something. She's the one who finds the butterfly miraculous, almost like she KNEW this would happen. She doesn't act immediately though, simply keeps it and begins to plan.

•Adrien is adjusting to his new life without a dad, a new disabled mum and a boyfriend. He and Kagami no longer have to fake date because Gabriel is gone and Tomoe's deals with him fell through. Although she still has an iron grip on Kagami and seems to be to be up to something.

•Felix tries to fix his and Adrien's broken relationship, but it's going to take time.

•Chloe is making improvements, slowly earning a place in the group.

•Zoe likes Marinette big shocker. Now Marinette finds herself between two girls rather than two boys, she's yet to decide what to do as she's more focused on finding the butterfly miraculous.

•season ends with a cliffhanger that leads into Lila being the next hawkmoth.

Damn that was long, but that's basically my rundown on how I'd fix the series. Notice I completely left out all the unnecessary shit like half the specials, the stupid amount of heroes that are used once and never seen again, the 6 season long slow burn love square that accidentally turned toxic relationship...

The story is mainly hero vs villains, with lore about the miraculous themselves AND the characters personal civilian lives and relationships being kept separate story lines UNTIL that ending point where through Adrien and his dad, they start to mingle. And when it does, it's to the point. Breaking away from abuse and facing family issues is the main theme in that arc from both a Cat vs Hawkmoth physical fight and a Adrien vs Gabriel emotional and mental fight.

Adrien is more the main character over Marinette because his family has the most lore. Marinette is still a big character but she's more in the position Adrien is in canon. The main-side character. She's got no family issues to worry about, mainly love and hero issues.

I got rid of all the miscommunications and un necessary secret keeping between LB and CN too. Because they're meant to be equals. Platonic soulmates. Opposites in harmony. Not a hero and a side kick.

And of course, that gay shit. Because Lukadrien and Marigami (and a little Mari and Zoe) genuinely have more chemistry than the love square. Nathalie is more of a redeemable villain at the start turned good guy toward the end. Because as much as I love how willing she was to straight crossbow Gabriel in the face in canon, it works better if she's more sympathetic to the general audience so she fits the role as Adrien's new mum better.

But yeah, that's my fix it AU. It'd take me years to write it, so this is all you're getting. An outline and maybe some one shots set in this AU. Bc fuck I can't write 6 seasons without it talking a billion years.

That's all for now though, see y'all in the next oneshot.
