It was his worst nightmare, the one thing he'd been trying to avoid. His dad knew.

Not about Cat Noir, thank god. But about his sexuality. Adrien had no idea how he found out, but Gabriel knew. Did he catch him eyeing down the other male models? Did he see his search history, how the hell did he know? However he found out, Adrien was sitting across the table, frozen in fear after hearing the words leave his fathers mouth.

"So... what's this about liking boys?" Is what he said.

Adrien had no idea what to say, how could he get out of this with the least amount of damage possible? He'd always had the feeling Gabriel was kind of phobic. He'd never say it out loud because he knew that it'd ruin the company image. The fashion industry has a queer history, if he were openly phobic he'd be dragged to filth. But behind closed doors? He could say anything because he knew Adrien and Nathalie wouldn't say anything. They couldn't, if they wanted to stay safe under that roof.

"I... I just... um..." Adrien stammered.

"Yes or no Adrien" Gabriel replied.

There was no point denying it, he knew. And lying would only make him angry.

"Yes..." Adrien admitted.

"Mhm... and who's the boy you've been seeing?"

"No one"

That wasn't exactly a lie, he did have a huge crush on Luka, but they weren't actively in a relationship.

"Is that so?" Gabriel said, not buying it.

"Seriously! We're not- I mean I like him. But we're not officially a couple or anything... look please don't drag him into this. Punish me all you want but don't try and stop me from seeing him or anything, we can still be friends! No strings attached!" Adrien sputtered out, in a desperate attempt to save Luka from being caught up in this.

Across the table Gabriel gave him a disappointed look, it burned into Adrien's skin. He felt so helpless, so small.

"I know I can't change this. That's a proven fact, but you can't be public about this, not when you're meant to be paired with Kagami for advertising" Gabriel said.

"W-wha? You know we broke up right? I mean... we weren't really together it was more of a situation-ship..." Adrien replied.

"I'm aware. But for the sake of the company image you'll continue to act as a couple. Do not let the public find out about this Adrien, it'll ruin us"

Adrien wasn't sure what to feel. He wasn't planning on being out publicly yet anyway, he wasn't ready. But he would eventually be out publicly, and he didn't like the idea of being a fake relationship just for the cameras... with his ex... who's a girl. He also couldn't really tell if his father was coming at this from a publicly perspective, or a homophobic one. Maybe both. Adrien was confused as hell.

"So... you don't care I like boys?" He asked.

"I do. But I know I can't change it, I'm not stupid enough to believe in things proven to not work like conversion therapy. I'm just... disappointed" Gabriel replied.

Adrien was just even more confused, and a little angry too now.

"Disappo- why? Just say you're homophobic and move on" Adrien said, anger in his tone.

"You know how hard it was for your mother and aunt to convince you and Felix. You're the only hope of continuing our family name" Gabriel replied.

"Wh- I'm 16! I'm years off child having age! Plus, two men can have kids through Surrogacy. Just because I'll be with a man doesn't meant the family bloodline stops. This is like... 20 years in the future why are you even thinking about this now?"

Was that really it? His asshole dad didn't approve because of a family bloodline? Even in the case of if Adrien dated Luka long enough to have a kid with him, Luka literally has a twin. A female twin. If she was willing she could be the surrogate and the baby would have Agreste AND Couffiane genes. But that was so far in the future it was dumb to even think about it now, they were 16! Still in school. Adrien had a feeling this 'bloodline' thing was just an excuse to cover up Gabriel's homophobia. Again, he knew his career would be over if he was openly homophobic.

And oh no, he can't loose his career. His son? Doesn't matter what he feels. His career? Soooo much more important.

Completely dodging the question, Gabriel spoke up again.

"Is it Jagged Stone's son?" He asked.

"I- yeah... I promise he's nice. I know his dad is a bit wild, you know rock and roll lifestyle and all. But he's calm, he's kind, he's smart, he's talented. He's not a 'bad influence' or anything, please don't drag him into this" Adrien begged.

"I'm aware I can't change your feelings, but know I don't want you dating anyone let alone a boy. You'll keep these feelings away from the public and continue to perform with Kagami? Is this clear?" Gabriel replied.

Adrien knew the only way to keep Luka out of this was to agree. That wouldn't stop him from loving Luka, and maybe if they could work things out they could date in secret. But if he wanted Gabriel to stay away from the Couffiane's he had to agree to staying closeted and pretending to be straight with Kagami... at least for now. He sighed in defeat, he really didn't want to but to keep Luka safe? He would.

"Ok..." Adrien muttered.

"Good" Gabriel replied.

With that the matter was 'settled' and Gabriel got up to leave back to his man cave that was his office. Adrien sat there for a moment, angry and upset. He was revived he didn't get hit or yelled at or god forbid sent to some sort of 'therapy', but he still didn't like the outcome. This all felt very homophobic to him. After a moment he got up and went back up to his room, the anger only bubbling inside him. The urge to rebel and fight was overwhelming.

And it hit him.

Adrien might not be able to be openly queer... but Cat Noir can.

In a moment of pure teenage rebellion, he transformed so he could use the touch screen function on his baton. The official Ladybug and Cat Noir social media accounts were connected to their weapons, that way no one could trace them and find out their identities. Ladybug used hers for proper stuff, akuma alerts and thanking the public for cooperation. Cat? He used it for that, and memes.

If he had to hide himself as Adrien, he'd scream his true self from the rooftops as Cat Noir.

It was from anger and rebellion he made that tweet, and that was how Cat Noir came out to all of Paris.
