Chapter 6

Now we were already running after the Uruks for three damn days and still hadn't caught them because the dwarf was too slow. I was quite annoyed by him and regretted something that I had decided to follow the three, but I was more afraid of my father's reaction. If he found out that I had followed an elves, a man and a dwarf to free two halflings from his captivity and not the ring bearer, this would have unimaginable proportions for me. Of course, he was my father, but he was also Sauron, the Dark Ruler, and he would do anything to gain his power. Inside I cursed Galadriel's gift, because something had to do with my decision and I didn't know how powerful this ball was and how far it could penetrate my head and whether Galadriel knew anything about it. No one knew that I was The Daughter of Sauron. That would be my death, or worse! Legolas had seen something from my Dark Side and that was never allowed to happen again, because I couldn't risk flying up. That's when I made a decision. I would try a little bit to mix up and upset my father's opponents, so they hated each other. That would be at least one reason he would almost understand. "They're running faster," said Aragorn, who had been lying on the ground and listening. Then he jumped up and ran on. I twisted my eyes and followed him. For one person, he was surprisingly athletic and fast. Legolas ran behind me and kept calling for Gimli, who was the final light. Suddenly we heard that a lot of horses were coming towards us. At first we hid, but Aragorn seemed to know the riders and showed up. Within a few seconds we were surrounded by many riders, who pointed their spears at us. They wore a horse as a coat of arms, which is why I suspected that they were raw irrime. "What are two elves, a man and a dwarf, doing here in the Riddermark? Speak quickly!" a blond man asked us, to which Gimli replied, "Call me your name, horse lord, then I will call you mine." This seemed to annoy the man, because he jumped off his horse and came towards us. "I'd cut your head off if he just protruded a little higher above the ground!" To my surprise, Legolas stretched his bow and shouted, "You'd die before you took a prank!" I had always thought that elves and dwarves would hate each other, but this proved the opposite to me. Aragorn walked in between and Legolas let his bow sink. "I am Aragorn. Son of Arathorn," he said, then he pointed to Gimli, then to Legolas and finally to me, "This is Gimli, Gloin's son, and these are Legolas and Luénna from the Forest Kingdom. We are friends of King Theoden." "King Theoden can no longer distinguish friend from enemy," the man replied, taking off his helmet, "He does not even recognize his own clan." Then the riders also took their spears away from us. "Saurman poisons the king's mind and claims control over these lands," the rider continued, "My troupe consists of those who stand the faithful to Rohan. And that's what we were banished for. The white wizard is rich in lists. Disguised as an old man and everywhere his spies slip through our nets." I looked to the ground so no one could see my smile. I might not want to follow the ring anymore, but I was still on my father's side and basically I was a spy. Not a Sarumans, but a Sauron, and this should be worse. "We are not spies," aragorn said, "We are following a troupe of Uruk sharks who have kidnapped our friends." "You Uruks are destroyed, we killed them all in the night," said the horse man and I looked up. "But there were two hobbits," Gimli protested, "You must have seen two little hobbits!" "They would have been small," Aragorn said now, "Only children in your eyes." But man just shook his head. "We didn't leave anyone alive," he said, pointing in a direction where a large fire was seen, "We took the bodies and burned them." "They're dead," Gimli said, stunned, and I would have liked to have applauded. But the others looked on and were shocked to the ground. I didn't really understand why they were so sad about the deaths of the two of them, but I pretended to be sorry. "I'm sorry," said the raw irrime, and after a short break he whistled through his teeth. Then two horses arrived. A mold and a brown. "May these horses give you better happiness than their previous owners," he said again, getting back on his horse. Aragorn and Legolas received the two horses, but were still very dismayed. "Look for your friends, but don't trust hope. She is lost in these lands,"" with these words the riders galloped and rode north. So they left us standing and Aragorn rose on the brown. "Gimli," he said, pulling Gimli on the horse. And also Legolas climbed on the mold, then he held his hand to me. "Oh no," I said, taking a step back. I've never sat on a horse in my life. I never needed it because I could turn into a bird at any time if I wanted to. "Come on," Legolas said softly, holding his hand. I hesitated. He looked at me as much as if he wanted to promise me that it wasn't bad. Eventually I took his hand and he pulled me behind him on the horse. When he galloped the mould, I was about to jump off the horse and prefer to run, but instead I clung to Legolas and hoped that I would come down from this horse as soon as possible. I almost fell off the horse several times, but I was lucky that I was able to hold on to Legolas every time. He found it quite amusing that I was so awkward, which I didn't like at all. At some point I got used to riding, but I was happy when we finally arrived. All Uruks were dead and thrown into a heap. I had often seen corpses in Mordor and the sight did not shock me, while the others were on the verge of crying as they had given up hope that the Hobbits were still alive. Aragorn stepped against one of the helmets in anger and then screamed and sank to the ground. The others looked on the ground and Legolas said something in Elbe. "May they find peace... In death." "One of the hobbits was here," Aragorn said after a few minutes, "And the other one here." He got up and followed a few tracks in the grass. "They were shackled and crawled," his voice became frantic, "The shackles were cut and lead..." He paused. We were standing in front of a large forest. "The Fangornwald," Legolas added. "What a terrible event may have driven them into it," Gimli said, and the others seemed unsure.
