14: The Mission (2)

AN: I am so sorry for not updating! I was really busy and I didn't have much time to write. I also had writer's block so I didn't really know where this story was going. This might happen in the future so I just want to say sorry in advance. Once again, I am very sorry!!

Alice's POV

In order to go to where the mission is, we took the portal. We arrived soon after and what was waiting for us was terrible. We widened our eyes at the horrifying sight. All of the trees were black and burned, the city was in rubles, and it seemed like the town was deserted. We only went to Oak Town 2 months ago and the sight that we saw was unbelievable. Hatter and I looked at the pile of ashes and rocks in terror. The immediate thought we had was if the citizens were alright. We started walking around the city and luckily there were no bodies.

After investigating the city, we went to go find the band of dark guilds. We figured that they would be somewhere on the outskirts of town so we ventured out. We searched for about an hour and there was still no luck. Time to time, Hatter and I would talk about the mission or strategies to defeat the guilds.

"So, how do you think we could get rid of these guilds?" Hatter asked. I thought about it for a while and it took me a little bit to reply.

"I think I should go in first. Then, when they think it's only me that went to fight them, you guys would come out and help me defeat them." I replied. Hatter had a hesitant and worried expression on his face when I said this.

"You sure? It's pretty dangerous going out there by yourself you know. What if you get hurt? What if they attack you out of nowhere and I didn't get the chance to stop them from hurting you? What if-"

"It's going to be okay, I promise. Remember, I have a lot of tricks up my sleeves." I said smirking at him. He looked at me and hesitantly nodded. I saw the hesitant look in his eye and rolled my eyes a little bit.

"Don't worry over little things like that. It's going to be alright." I said as I nudged his shoulder a little bit. He sighed and laughed a bit. I also heard him mumbling something playfully about how he should deal with me. I smirked in victory and started walking again. We took a few steps around a dilapidated house and saw ominous buildings in front of us.

We gazed at the 20 buildings that had an evil aura flowing out. We all gulped and started approaching the buildings with caution. The buildings were painted black and had shattered windows, making it even more sinister. (The guild hall is in the Media. All of the other guild halls look similar to the guild hall in the Media)

I then told Hatter and the others to hide behind the dilapidated house we passed by. As they did, I walked up to the guild hall. I soon reached the door of the first building and as I tried to open it, it opened by itself. I jumped back in surprise and looked at the darkness that laid ahead. Suddenly, I saw people jump towards me with weapons as magic surrounded them. I was about to block and fight back but somebody stopped me from doing that. This person jumped in front of me and performed a magic spell that seemed oddly familiar. Before I knew it, the people that were attacking me were blown away by a white beam. I widened my eyes and looked at the person that attacked the guild members.

As I looked at him closely, I realized who it was immediately. It was unmistakable. The blond spiky hair, the earing on his left ear, the blue vest that had fur surrounding it, his white pants that had a black layer over it, the black boots that had yellow on the bottom. It had to be him. It was Sting Eucliffe from Sabertooth. I looked at him with surprise and confusion. Why was he here? I looked over at Hatter and saw him and the others running up to us with the exact same expression. Hatter didn't know who Sting was so he was probably wondering who it was. I looked back at Sting and saw him look over at us.

But before I got to ask something, more of the members from the guild attacked. We soon realized that there were other people attacking so we went back to trying to get rid of the members. My team and I jumped at the members and we started taking them out in impressive numbers. After a little bit, we defeated the members and walked out of the building. We looked at Sting and saw other Sabertooth members behind him, Rogue, Orga, Rufus, Minerva, Yukino, Lector, and Frosch. We looked at each other and were surprised in our own ways.

We walked up to each other and looked at each other with questionable glances. "What are some of the guild members from Sabertooth doing here?" I asked with a confused gaze.

"That's what we want to ask you." Sting retorted back.

"Well we asked you first, so what are you guys doing here?" Cheshire questioned.

"It's none of your business. Now buzz off before you get into trouble." Sting said in an agitated tone. We stayed there and didn't move a step which made Sting more agitated. He was just about to attack us but before anything could happen, Rogue stepped in and grabbed him by the collar.

"Sorry about that, he doesn't know how to talk regularly without starting a fight," Rogue said as he glared at his partner. All of the Sabertooth members shook their heads at the hopeless mage in front of them. I gently cleared my throat to remind them of the true reason why we were all here.

"So, do you mind telling us why you guys are here?" I asked trying to be polite. Rufus soon stepped in and responded with elegance in his voice.

"We're here because of a mission that our master gave us. We were told to get rid of these guilds here." He responded as he gestured to the guilds that laid in front of us. My team and I nodded our heads. "How about you guys?" Rufus asked.

"We're here because of the same thing."
