Saying Goodbye to Fairy Tail

Lucy's POV

Ring! Ring! Ri- I slammed my hand onto of my clock to snooze it. I bolted up as I yawned, wishing that I could stay at home today. Then, realization dawned to me, it's July 1st. My birthday. I sighed as I got out of my bed to go take a shower. The water runs down as I hum a tune, running the shampoo and conditioner through my hair. After I was done with my shower, I got dressed. Today, my outfit was pretty casual,  a light pink tank-top, a navy blue skirt and a pair of white sandals. I styled my hair in a half up and half down. I tied part of my hair up with a blue bow.

Once I was finished getting dressed, I strolled towards the guild after locking my door. I pushed the door opened, and the first thing I see is Natsu storming towards me. His face was full of rage, eyes that look as though they were about to kill.

"Lucy!" he shouted, "How could you hit Lissana? And call her weak when you're the weak one. You are no longer part of Team Natsu." My eyes widen as he spoke. Me? Hit Lissana and call her weak? I was trying to process this when my eyes traveled towards Lissana's. She smirked at me, mocking me. For some reason, she just never seem to like me. Especially, after she found out that I was Natsu's partner.

Flashback

"Hey, my name is Lissana and I'm Mira and Elfman's little sister," she said, her blue eyes sparkling in the light. "You probably don't know me since I've never seen you before. So, I'm assuming that you joined the guild after I 'died.'" After she said that, Natsu approached us and said, "hey, Lis. I see you just meet Luce." He smiled.

"Yeah, I did," she said jealousy lacing her words. I thought her eyes contained a bit of jealousy in them but when I looked again it wasn't there. Perhaps, I saw it wrong. After that, he left. Probably, going to fight with Gray again.

"If this isn't too impolite of me to ask you this, could you tell me who are you to Natsu?" she asked softly yet sharp.

"I'm just his partner since he's the reason why I was able to join Fairy Tail," I said truthfully.

She stared at me, shocked. Then, she took a deep breath and placed her face near mine and whispered harshly, "stay away from Natsu because he's MINE. Got it, b*tch."  I quickly nodded my head up and down, slightly afraid. For some odd reason, I felt fearful towards her and ever since that day, I was never invited to go on missions with Team Natsu. They always brought Lissana with them.  Sometimes, Gray would come and talk to me, however, Natsu always ends up dragging him into a fight. Only those who didn't know who Lissana was hung out with me, as well as Mira, the Thunder Legion, and Gildarts.

Flashback ends

Erza nodded, agreeing with Natsu. Gray, on the other hand, mouthed sorry. His face was full of regret and guilt. I  smiled softly and mouthed back it's okay. Wendy came up with tears running down her face. She spoke in between her sobs, "I'm sorry, Lucy-san. I try to stop them but they still decided to do it anyways."

"It's fine, Wendy. Don't worry about it," I said with a fake smile plastered on my face. Tears were streaming down my face without e being aware of it.

"Hey everyone, look the weakling is crying," he said, laughing. The other members of the guild laugh with him. I stormed out of the guild as fast as I could, with the laughter of guild behind me.

The Next Day

I woke up early in the morning to quit Fairy Tail. Yesterday, when I got home I wrote a letter to explain why I decided to leave this place. I quickly took a bath and changed. After that, I locked my door and headed towards the guild. Once I arrived, I only saw Mira and some members. I strolled up to Mira and asked if the master was here. She replied with "yes," and I walked up the stairs towards his office. Once I was standing in front of his door, I placed my hand on the door and then knocked a couple of times.

Mira's POV

Lucy approached me and asked if the master was here. I replied truthfully and told her that he was. I am a bit curious about why she's going to master's office. It couldn't be because... no... she wouldn't right...? Could she actually be thinking about quitting the guild?  I took a deep breath hoping what I was thinking was wrong.

Master's POV

I was reading the Sorcerer Weekly when there was a knock on my door. I scrambled to hide the magazine.  "Come in," I said. My heart was beating a mile a minute as Lucy entered my office.

"Hello my child, how may I help you today?"

"I'm sorry master, but I can't take this anymore. I can't be here for another second. I want to quit the guild." As she said that, my heart shattered into pieces. However, I wish for her to follow her heart and hope that she would be happy in the end.

"Just let me ask 2 questions before you leave us," I said sadly. "First, will you come back to Fairy Tail?"

"I'm not sure master, but no matter what happens Fairy Tail will still be my home."

" Also, who made you want to quit this guild?"

"Most of the members caused me to feel this way. To be honest, it's probably mostly because of Team Natsu. Oh! But not Mira, Wendy, Gray, Gajeel, Juvia, the exceeds, the Thunder Legions and Gildarts. Please don't this on them. They did nothing wrong."

Alright my child," I said, tearing up before muttering a spell to remove the guild mark.

"Oh! I almost forgot. Please don't tell them that I'm leaving before they figure it out themselves. I'll tell my true friends but that's it."

"I understand, Lucy. Goodbye," I choked out trying to force back the tears that were threatening to fall out.

"Goodbye, mas- I mean Makarov. I guess I'll have to get used to this," she laughed sadly. Today, one of my children is leaving me with the possibility of not coming back.

Lucy's POV

I walked out of Makarov's office and down the stairs. I headed towards Mira and told her to bring my friends that stuck with me and her to my apartment at around 11 o'clock. That I needed to tell them something. After I finished telling her that, I strolled out the guild and back to my apartment. I began to pack up my clothes and items that I was going to bring with me. Where am I going? I'm not sure but I'll probably discover somewhere along my way. After I finished packing, I spoke to my landlady and told her that I'll be leaving this afternoon and gave her the rent money for this month.

Once the clock hit 11, they all rushed into my house worry plaster on their faces. "Guys, I'm sorry but I quitted the guild. Please don't tell the other members. I want to see how long it take them to realize that I left this so-called 'family.' Please."

"It's okay. Also, we promise to not say anything," they said in unison.

"Goodbye, I'll write and call you guys from time to time."

"Bye," they choked out. "We'll miss you and wait for you to come back."

After bidding our last farewells, we went out separate ways. I headed towards the train, occasionally looking behind me seeing they walking the opposite direction, going towards the guild. Their shoulders slumped as they postures weren't as straight as they use to be.
