~With Finley~

After so much time, I finally get some time off from wrestling to be home, with my girlfriend by my side and visiting my mother and father. It has been a while since I drove in an English lane, so I relied on a taxi to take us to my family's house.

When we drove up there, my mum was not suspecting a thing, but when I rang the doorbell, she answered, and was shocked to see me here with my lass.

Me: Hi mum!

Mum: Finley!

She was excited and we embraced very hard! I even heard her sob a bit.

Mum: What are you doing here in England?

Me: I decided to take a break from wrestling and come visit you, mum.

Mum: Who is she?

Me: Mum, this is Io Shirai, one of the greatest female wrestlers in the world, and, my girlfriend.

Mum: Girlfriend? Finley, are you-

Out of nowhere Io hugged my mum with all her strength to let her know that it's true. We are dating and Mum has to accept that.

Mum: Oh, hello.

Io: It's so nice to meet you, Mrs. Flanigan.

Mum: Nice to meet you too, Miss Io. Come on inside.

Me: Hey, mum, we have some suitcases. Do you have a room Io and I can stay in?

Mum: Of course! We have room for our son!

Dad: Mary, who's at the door?

Mum: It's Finley, James!

Dad came to the front door to see me and he was so happy about me being here.

Dad: Finley!

I went up to hug him and he hugged me back with a laugh.

Dad: How have you been, son!

Me: Swell, dad. Io, come here.

She walked up to see Io hold my hand with a cute smile.

Me: Dad, this is Io Shirai, not only one of the best wrestlers in the world, but she is also my girlfriend.

Dad: Nice to meet you, Io.

He grabbed Io's hand and kissed it as she blushed a bit.

Io: It's great time meet you, Mr. Flanigan.

Dad: Please, call me James.

Io: Okay, James.

Dad: So, would you like to tell us about your career so far, Finley?

Me: Yes, but it's the reason I'm here.

Dad: Ah, well, let's get you two set up in our guest bedroom and we can chat then.

Io: Sounds reasonable.

As my father and mother allowed us to settle in the guest bedroom, Io seemed happy to be here with me.

Io: Your parents seem wonderful.

Me: They are. They've been my best friends before I met Kevin, Ridge, Danny, and you.

She blushed when I said "you" to her. She then wrapped her arms around me and kissed my cheek.

Io: You know how to charm me.

Me: Well, it's all thanks to your help to me improving my social skills. Come on, let's unpack and spend time with my parents.

Io: Alright. Finley, I love you. You know that?

Me: Of course. I love you too. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me.

I kissed her as she kissed back.

~20 Minutes Later~

After unpacking our suitcases, we went downstairs to spend time with my mum and dad.

My dad is very traditional: tea and crumpets so this was a good idea since Io hasn't been to England before. Also, my parents aren't very high on technology, which is why they do not have a television and rely on newspapers. They do have telephones, but they have telephones that lead back to the 1920's. For entertainment, all they have is a radio and a record player, which really pisses me off because I tried getting them into technology growing up, but they were stubborn and they still are.

Specifically, my dad only wanted to meet with me alone on the patio. I let my girlfriend spend time with my mum as dad and I catch up.

Dad: So, how's Kevin?

Me: He's doing fine now, but he can't get in the ring. He suffered a neck injury and can't compete anymore.

Dad: That's too bad, I actually feel bad for him. But I've heard about your time in NXT. How's that going for you?

Me: It's amazing to go back to America and compete for the WWE, but not too long ago, I said some racist stuff that gave me a ton of backlash which is why Io and I are in England. I only wanted a break to clear my head and forget about that racist shit in-

Dad: Hey, language.

Me: Sorry, dad, shiitake in Orlando.

Dad: Much better.

Me: How's it here with mum?

Dad: She's getting there. Your mum, she has been staying by me everyday. Let's talk about Io. How is she?

Me: Dad, Io is my life. She helped me with my social skills and Io is the one for me.

Dad: Have you asked her the question?

Me: Question?

Dad: Yes, that question. When are you going to ask her to marry you?

Me: SHH! Dad, we can't talk about this now. She'll hear.

Dad: I'm only suggesting that it would be a good time to pop the question.

Me: Dad, no. I'm not ready for marriage. I just don't want to ask her until I feel ready. I need two years or three to prepare myself for that. We started dating five months ago and now is not the time.

Dad: I can't stop you from thinking like that. You ask her on your time and place. I won't object.

Me: Thank-you, dad.

We had our tea and crumpets as Io and my mum were in the kitchen.

~With Io~

Mrs. Flanigan is so unbelievably nice. She is so patient with me that I actually fell in love with her immediately after he and Finley hugged.

Mrs. F: So, Io, how are you and Finley?

Me: We are doing quite well, despite a mishap back in America.

Mrs. F: Oh, what happened?

Me: It was nothing. Just a disagreement over nothing.

Mrs. F: Well, I hope it's not anything serious.

Me: I promise you. It isn't.

Mrs. F: Okay. How is Finley treating you?

Me: He is so sweet. I've actually helped him improve on being social and he actually gave me this.

I showed her the promise ring Fin gave me and she was shocked at the beauty of it.

Mrs. F: My Lord! He proposed?!!

Me: No, Mrs. Flanigan. It's a promise ring.

Mrs. F: Thank God. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

We giggled but she was going to get something serious down.

Mrs. F: Io, may I ask you of a personal favor?

Me: Yes. What is it?

Mrs. F: Finley, hasn't had the best childhood and life and only trusts you and Kevin. Do you mind still helping him with his social issues?

Me: Of course I will, Mrs. Flanigan.

Mrs. F: Please, Io. You don't have to call me "Mrs. Flanigan" every time. Call me "Mary".

Me: I will, Mary.

~Two Weeks Later~

It was so amazing to meet Finley's parents for the first time and being in England, but we had to get back to America.

James and Mary drove us to the airport as we said our goodbyes.

Me: It's been a pleasure to meet you two.

Mary: As it was a pleasure to meet you too, Miss Io.

She hugged me with the most heartwarming hug I've ever had from her.

Mary: Goodbye my son.

She hugged and kissed Finley's cheek as I hugged James.

James: Take care of our Finley, you hear, Io?

Me: I will James.

James: And you, Finley. You have a wonderful girlfriend in your life. Treat her well.

Finley: Yes sir.

They hugged in a loving father and son moment as we boarded the plan and flew back to the States.

We will come back to the UK again. The Flanigans were so lovely after being in England for two weeks.
