Chapter thirteen

"Hey guys." Scott greeted sitting at their usual lunch table. He placed the tray full of food on the table and start eating his lunch. Ryder sat next to Scott and start eating as well.

"Hey." They all casually greeted back. There were seated at the 'popular table.' There were a total of six of them. Ryder, Scott, Liam, Katie, Lily, and Casper.

Liam Star was the type of guy who loves sports. Sure, he was part of the jock crowd but he was friends with Scott and Ryder since middle school. He was way too cocky and full of himself. That was why it was easy for him to fit in and befriends with Ryder and Scott. They all shared the same traits.

Then there was Casper Knight, Liam's best friend. Casper was the smarty pants in the group. He might be cool but he never failed a class in his life. His motto 'Study is the key to success.'

Next was Katie Wilde, the girly in the group. All she ever talked about were make-up, lipgloss, nails, boys, and the list goes on. She might have an attitude but she was outgoing, funny, and fun to hang out with.

And last but certainly not the least was Lily Mendel. Lily was the shy type of girl. She didn't talk to anyone unless it was urgent or it was her close friends and relatives. She was dating Casper. They've been going out for about a year now. Since Lily didn't talk much and Casper was sensitive when it comes to women's feelings, they clique and didn't fight as much as normal couples would do.

And of course, as you already know, Ryder Collins was the 'bad boy' of the group and Scott Milan was the 'player,' who's hobby was to sleep around with girls.

"So guys, Ryder and I have a surprise for you all." Scott smirked causing Ryder to chuckle.

"What is it?" Katie asked furrowing her eyebrows. All of them were staring at Ryder and Scott with confusion written all over their face.

"Just promise me you wouldn't scream." Scott said looking at everyone but he mostly stared at Katie.

Katie raised an eyebrow when she everyone stared at her. "What? Why is everyone staring at me?" After staring at her for quite a long time, she finally admitted it. "Okay, I get it! I can get a little loud sometimes, but I promise I won't scream." She said raising her hand.

"Promise?" Scott asked again.

"Promise! Now show us your surprise!" She said impatiently.

"Alright! Rina, you can come out now!" Scott said making everyone's eyes popped out of their sockets by hearing the name of Rina.

Rina came out from her hiding spot and grinned at the crew. "AHHHH!" Katie screamed as everyone covered their ears.

"What did I just say?!" Scott hissed.

"Sorry, but it's Rina!" She exclaimed pulling Rina into a right hug. Rina felt suffocated but loved at the same time. She hugged her back though. They were best friends since kindergarten like Scott and Ryder were so she guessed it wasn't bad she missed her so much.

All of the students were looking at their table wondering what the commotions were all about. Most of them knew who Rina was since she attended Freshmen year in Richmond High. She was also part of the 'popular' crew. She was more of the 'normal' person in the group. She could get bossy at times and maybe act like a queen bee when needed but she was pretty much nice to everyone.

Steven and Andrea suddenly stopped from their laughter when they heard a scream from across the room. They both looked at the table wondering what was happening.

Steven seemed to feel his chest tightening and his hands started sweating. He knew it was her. It was Rina. She was back. He couldn't believe it. He thought that he might be hallucinating so he rubbed his eyes but there stood Rina. He thought his eyes were playing tricks on him but it really was her.

Andrea looked back at Steven studying him. He was staring intently at the beautiful girl that looked all to familiar to her. She could have sworn she saw the same blonde hair, blue eyes, and slim body before. But where, where would have she saw it?

"Steven? Steven?" She tried calling him but he seemed to be in a different dimension. He was just staring at the 'popular' table without even blinking.

"Steven?!" Andrea tried again snapping her fingers in front of his face now. Steven quickly shook his head and snapped out of his trance.

"Did you say something?" He asked.

"No, I was just worried about you. You were staring at that girl for quite a long time." She stated.

"Sorry." He apologized shooting her a smile as he went back to eating, but he felt like he just lost his appetite.

"So, who is she?" Andrea asked popping a grape in her mouth.

"That's Rina, Rina Collins." He announced causing Andrea to widened her eyes. "She's Ryder's twin." That was why she looked so familiar. Andrea saw her picture at Ryder's apartment and she remembered her now from freshmen.

"Right. I knew she looks oddly familiar." Andrea nodded.

"Yeah, she does." Steven said sadly. There was something off about him but Andrea didn't want to tick him off so she just dropped the subject and let it slide. She could tell that it was a touchy subject since he was all of sudden silent now.

"I missed you so much!" Katie exclaimed pulling her down to the seat next to her.

"Well, I missed you too. All of you." She said smiling at everyone who was staring at her in astonishment.

"We thought you were in Australia?" Casper questioned her.

"I was, but I finished my semester a little early so they told me I could take a break. So I said, why not pay a visit to my lovely friends?" She explained.

"Well we totally missed you, Rin. It wasn't the same without you here." Liam said.

"Welcome back, Rina!" Lily smiled at Rina as Casper placed an arm around her and pulled her to his side. Rina's eyes narrowed at the both of them and eyed them suspiciously. Since Casper and Lily only started dating in grade 11, Rina didn't really know they were boyfriend and girlfriend.

"Is there something I should know?" She asked looking between the two of them.

"They're going out. Isn't that exciting?!" Katie squealed clapping her hands excitedly.

"It's been a year now, Katie! You should be use to it by now." Liam said but Katie just rolled her eyes at him.

"No way! Why didn't you tell me?!" Rina yelled at the two of them. "And one year? For a whole year nobody planned to tell me you two were going out?!"

"Sorry, it just slipped our minds." Lily answered but it sounded more like a question.

"And besides, we thought Ryder would tell you. I mean you do talk to each other a lot." Casper said.

"Ry, why didn't you tell me?!" She pouted at him.

"I forgot?" Ryder shrugged ignoring them earning him a glare from Rina. He just kept eating his food not caring about the world.

Rina looked around the table and counted the crew. She furrowed her eyebrows together and glanced at everyone. "Wait a minute," she said stopping everyone from what their doing and looked at her.

"Seven? There are only seven of us? I could have sworn there were always eight." Rina said thinking of it more carefully. Then it hit her. "Steven?! Where is he?" She asked.

At the sound of his name, Ryder's jaw tightened. He never told her sister that Steven stopped hanging out with them since senior year started. Everybody at the table quiet down and glanced at Ryder. Rina eyed them suspiciously and her eyes locked with Ryder.

"Where's Steven?" She asked again hoping her brother would answer her but he wouldn't. "Ryder?!"

"He's not in the group anymore." He muttered and continued to eat his food like it was no big deal.

"What?! Why not?! What happen?!" She asked almost exclaiming.

"Look Rina, there's just some things that happened in the past. Just forget about him." Ryder demanded.

"No, how could you say that?!"

"Rina, please! Just shut up!" He said through gritted teeth. She knew he was mad but she needed to find out what really happened.

She scanned the cafeteria and she saw those spiky hair of his. She knew right away it was him. She stood up from her chair. "Where are you going?" Scott asked.

"If you guys won't tell me, then I'll ask him myself." She said making her way to the table where Steven was sitting. Ryder grew more infuriate but he let her go.

"Aren't you gonna stop her?" Liam asked.

"No, let her do what she wants to do." He said getting back to his food.
