Eighteen
Livin' The Dream - Morgan Wallen
-
Colt was even more loving when he was wasted, if possible. We had just gotten back to his place after the bar. I had a great time, even if my friends weren't there. Colt's friends made everything so fun, but that's just how boys are.
I sat on the couch as Colt poured me a glass of wine, not ready to end the night yet. I would have to drink a gallon of water before I went to bed and sober up so I wouldn't be horribly hungover tomorrow since I needed to finish my homework, and we had dinner with his parents.
He handed the glass to me, turned the fireplace on, laid on the chaise, and pulled me close to him. I couldn't stop thinking about that damn girl who was staring holes through my head earlier.
"Hey, boyfriend?" I ask, playing with the button on his shirt.
"Yes, girlfriend?"
I smiled at his words, "So since we're dating now, I feel like I should know more about you."
"Like what?" His hand wrapped around my waist, sliding up underneath my t-shirt I had just changed into. He was horny; I wasn't going to have his attention long.
I look at him in the eyes, "Like your past," I pause, "like your old girlfriends or whatever."
His hand freezes under my shirt, and sighs, "Is this because of those girls earlier?"
I gasped, "What? No! I was just curious, that's all." Yeah, I will need to finish my wine for this one.
He smirks, "No, Charlie, I haven't kissed any of those girls, though I know they'd wish to have a piece of this ass. Jealous much?"
I hit his arm lightly, "I'm serious, Colt!"
He smirks, "Last girlfriend I had was two years ago when I lived in Wyoming. There's been two girls I slept with since then." I nod. That's not too bad. He didn't seem to sleep around much. "What bout' you, lucky?"
I sighed, "My last boyfriend and I broke up in March. He was a prick, though. I wasn't too heartbroken. One other guy after that a month later. I was on a dry spell till I met you." I didn't mean to give that much information about my ex, but when I drink, the words just come out and don't stop.
He smirks, pulling me closer, "What were you and Ella talkin' bout' when I saw you earlier?"
"She apologized for being a bitch, and then was like, oh, you're the girl he chose at that rodeo. She was being so friendly."
He made a face, "That girl is fuckin' crazy, babe. I let her hang with me one night, and now she won't leave me the hell alone. She's everywhere. At every damn rodeo I'm at."
I laugh and walk my finger up his chest, "She's just got a lil' crush, Colty."
His hand grabs my finger, stopping it. "Yea, it's too bad I got a huge ass crush on you." I smile and kiss his lips gently.
My mind begins to wander to Brooke now that I got Ella and her school crush off my mind. I wonder where she was. I needed to talk to her. "You good?" Colt asks, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I pursed my lips and stared out the dark window, "Yeah, Brooke missed my ride today?"
He raises his eyebrow, "really?"
"She said she and Knox had to run to the store and missed it."
"I'm sorry, Charlie."
I lean close to him, and he wraps his arm tighter around me, and I sigh, "She's just never around anymore." I'm at home all week, but she's never there anymore.
"I guess Knox got her wrapped around his finger." I guess so. "How many guys have you slept with?"
I smirk, "I got you thinkin', huh?"
He rolls his eyes, "Stop with the sad shit, and whatever, just trying to get to know my girlfriend better."
I begin to think about the past men in my life. My high school boyfriend, Troy. My freshman-year boyfriend, Easton. Football boy, Jack. Random guy from the bar, Zach. Colt. "Five."
"Seven."
I bite my lip and cough, "slut."
He rolls his eyes, "what did you just say?" His eyes filled with lust as he knew I was messing with him. His hands moved to my sides, and I knew what he would do. "Colt, no!" He held me tight as he tickled my sides, knowing it was my tickle spot. "Colt, I'm sorry!"
He laughs before stopping and kissing me. "Do you have any siblings?" His hands are rubbing up and down my back, and it's getting tough to focus.
"I do. I have a little brother named Luke. He's ten. I think he would love you."
"If he's anything like you, I'd love him too." Did he realize he said the L word? Love. I'm definitely falling in love with Colt. I never know when the best time to tell someone I love them is. Do you wait for the guy to say it, or what? "I got an older brother named Buck and a younger sister named Sadie. Buck is twenty-six, and Paisley is seventeen."
"Do I get to meet them tomorrow?"
He shrugs, "Not Buck, he lives in Wyoming, but Paisley, maybe. She should be there."
His mom was gorgeous when I met her earlier. I bet she's a heartbreaker if she has the genes Colt has. I couldn't even think what his brother looked like. I bet he's smoking hot, too. "Is your brother's name actually Buck?"
He laughs, "Charlie if you can't tell, I'm really fuckin' redneck, and so is my family, so yes, his name is Buck."
I raise an eyebrow, "you don't seem redneck to me. You seem like a cowboy."
He pulls me close, "Yeah, you just wait. Now that we're dating, I can unleash the beast of the real me. I can take shits and stink up the bathroom now too."
"Great," I mumble, resting my head on his chest. "Are you about ready for bed? I'm gonna fall asleep out here."
"Shit, yeah. I've just been waiting for you to stop talking."
I roll my eyes and stand up, taking my wine glass into the kitchen to wash it, "for someone about to get into bed with a woman, you sure are being full of it."
He grins, wraps his arms around me from behind, and rests his chin on my shoulder, "you know I loved getting to know you better this evening."
"Me too, now I know I should expect you to fart around me. At least, thanks for telling me, I guess."
He rolls his eyes and drags me into his bedroom, where we both immediately crawl under the covers, already showered and ready for bed when we returned home from the bar. He wraps his arms around me, and I snuggle into the crook of his arm, fitting perfectly, and almost immediately falling asleep.
