EPILOGUE.
"Hey."
"Too early."
Presnel laughed.
"I made breakfast."
"What? Presko, we still have plenty of food from yesterday... »
"I know, I cooked the pancakes' dough left."
Julian laughed when he opened his eyes and saw the pancakes, that were all purple.
"Who made the purple dough already? Because we still have plenty of it," Presnel said desperately.
"You."
"I don't remember doing it, so it was you."
"No, I don't think so," Julian shook his head. "You have maple syrup on your forehead."
"I have a question."
"No, I don't want to marry you."
Presnel laughed.
"That was not my question. Not yet. I was thinking of what you said yesterday. That without the lucky charm, we wouldn't be here."
"Yeah?"
"Is it really true? I mean, did you do all of this just because you had it?"
Julian smiled.
"That lucky charm, it's like...a permission. I don't know how to explain it. When we have it, we feel like we can do things that we usually wouldn't have done because it is allowing us to. I would have break up with Melanie without it. I would have kissed you without it. Maybe not that soon, because it gave me...the energy to do so at this moment. It's like a good excuse to date your best friend."
"So, am I your boyfriend or your best friend?" Presnel smiled, and Julian shrugged.
"Both."
"I'm wearing my boyfriend's cap, so I can have a hug," he said before hugging Julian. "Hey."
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I love you too," Julian smiled.
Julian called the lucky charm "a permission." And Presnel agreed with him. It gave them permission to be wrong, to make mistakes, to say what they wanted to say. And more importantly, to love who they wanted to love.
**
Never forget that the people who love you will always do. No matter who we are, no matter who you love.
