He Just Needs To Wait A Little Bit More.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Author's POV
It was already night where everyone was heading to their home to have dinner with their loved ones... On the other hand, the young CEO Jungkook was still holding a bunch of paperwork in his grip as he checked the resume quietly; totally focused on reading them to the point he forgot Jimin who was waiting for him in the lobby area.
Patiently waiting for his appearance so that they could have their first dinner-date together.
It's been twenty minutes yet Jimin is still calmly waiting for the other's arrival. Yes, he could just call the younger one but he didn't want to, simply because he wanted to see how important their first date was to Jungkook exactly. He's not stupid, he also aware of the fact that the other was busy and probably already forgotten about it but let's not be in denial; when something you claimed to love the most, you wouldn't forget no matter what the situations are.
So Jimin stood there, hope still high for the other to come down.
5 minutes…
10 minutes…
15 minutes…
Minutes have passed yet Jungkook was nowhere to be seen in front of him, making him sigh in response as he glanced around the floor and chuckled pathetically to himself. It would be a lie if he said that something inside him didn't ache because, for the love of the hell, it is. He already expected this to happen but why does he still feel hurt by it all? And more importantly, since when the younger actions could actually hurt him when all these years they don't?
Jimin scoffed loudly at his anticipation on the other. What did he expect? The younger to show his love and bring him somewhere sweet with candles and roses all over the floor? What a pathetic imagination he has. "Whatever. It's not like I love him anyways…" Jimin stood up and made his way to the building entrance; decided to go home after working all day long, trying so hard to convince himself that he didn't feel anything about all of this.
What a waste… He rather denies his feelings than admits them.
He scoffed mockingly at himself, kept repeating the words he didn't feel anything but his actions said otherwise when he walked painfully slowly to the exit with the hope that Jungkook would appear in front of him before he left. Yeah, the irony isn't it? But he couldn't help what he felt. Though he said he didn't care, though he said the date meant nothing to him, the little mistake younger's made was enough to make his inside aching badly; proving that he indeed cared and anticipated their first date.
Jimin didn't know he was starting to cry until he felt a string of liquid fall on his cheeks before sliding down; wetting them as he blinked a few times before holding out his hand and wiping the tears away and looking at the stain on his fingers with a raised eyebrow. "Why are you starting to cry about this?" He asked to no one, still looking at the shiny liquid for a moment before wiping them away with his clothes; finding it stupid of him to do so.
"God, you're so stupid to cry about this. Get a hold on yourself!!" He blamed himself as he took a deep breath while closing his eyes as he opened them later only to see the exit is two steps away from him. Locking up his feelings in a box, he put a forced smile as he walked out of the building; greeted instantly by the cool wind in return. His eyes traveled all over the area outside the building until it stopped at the bright moon which was reflecting its light on his face beautifully as he remembered what SeokJin said earlier.
“You may think the moon doesn't need those shiny pieces along with it, but if the stars really aren't there; every night would be nothing but rain, gloomy and cold. So yes, the moon indeed needs them...”
"I don't need him." Jimin said to no one, glaring at the moon as he rolled his eyes; turning to another side to walk home but got interrupted immediately when he heard rushing footsteps sounds coming near him, catching his attention as he looked all over the area to search where it came from.
Not two seconds passed, he felt the familiar strong grip wrapped around his waist as the well-known perfume scent greeted his nose; making Jimin tense. "I'm sorry…" Jungkook said softly while hiding his nose inside the older's neck and inhaling the fresh ocean body wash smell, feeling guilty for actually forgetting their dinner date because he was too busy while Jimin couldn't help but smile a little bit, feeling the younger's chest move up and down quickly against his back; showing he was running all the way down here.
"Oh, now you remember? I thought you already forgot it." Jimin teased, acting as if he was sulking as he unconsciously pouted and broke the hug while facing the other; earning a wide smile from Jungkook who noticed the sudden behavior. It was too cute, he never saw the older pout. "What are you smiling at?" Jimin asked, confusion clear in his voice as he gazed over the young man who didn't stop smiling for nothing in particular.
"You are sulking, that shows you anticipate our date!!" Jungkook said excitedly as Jimin blinked a few times before turning his head away: trying so hard to not smile. Couldn't deny the fact, he was acting as if he was sulking at first, but he really did sulk for no reason after. "I saw you trying to hold your smile… Just smile, hyung." Jungkook teased, bringing Jimin back to reality as the older scoffed loudly before rolling his eyes at the other.
"Who said I wanted to smile? You're so blind, Jungkook."
"Well, to be fair… Love does make us blind. So you couldn't expect me to not actually blind for you." The younger replied with a wink at the end and turned around to walk away, failing to notice Jimin's stunned face after he spat those words. He couldn't help it. Something about the way Jungkook said those words hit differently inside him. Once again he feels those familiar butterflies wander all around his stomach as he watches the young male from behind.
"Hyung? Come on!!" Jungkook called him, breaking his reverie as he gazed over the other who was already holding his hand out; waiting for him to take it patiently as Jimin bit his lower lips before stepping closer to the male and walked past him without a single glance either on the face or the hand; leaving the younger behind without hesitation.
It hurts.
It would be a lie if Jungkook said it doesn't sting because it is but again, he remembered… This is not about him, it's about Jimin. What did he expect? Going on one date and Jimin being all sweet after? Of course not. It takes time and patience for people's hearts to change and he personally believes Jimin is not any less different too. He just needs to wait a little bit more.
He'll get there.

"Hope you enjoy our food…" The waiter uttered before walking away; leaving them both alone again as Jimin didn't waste any time that to cut the chicken before dipping the slice in a tiny bowl of black pepper sauce and shoving it inside his mouth; tasting the delicious taste that he almost moan at whilst Jungkook just chuckled while staring at him.
They are inside the restaurant building but in the balcony area where people could literally watch the moon directly if they wanted to. The scenery is so beautiful and suits those who want to take out their loved ones on special occasions. But of course, good service, beautiful scenery, and delicious food come with a high price along. That's why there is no one except for them which Jungkook is silently thankful for.
"Are you going to keep staring or eat your food?" Jimin asked, bringing Jungkook out from his daydreaming as he smiled sheepishly before cutting the steak in front of him; didn't feel shy by the fact the older male just caught him staring. Well, you can't blame him though… His whole world is sitting in front of him beautifully. And to mention, the breezy wind running through Jimin's hair; yanking them to the back while the bright moonlight illuminated his skin.
Oh, Jimin looks pulchritudinous…
"You know what… I keep wondering why the sky is dark during the night. But then I meet you and I know the answer instantly." Jungkook said, catching Jimin's interest who swallowed the food in his mouth; didn't say anything but his eyes showed impatience with what the younger wanted to say after. After all, he wanted to know the answer to that ridiculous question too.
"Because I just realized, all the color is in your eyes…" Jungkook mumbled with a smile at the end, staring at Jimin as the man is a whole universe, as if there's no one other than them standing on this earth; showing his love through his does' eyes without a word needed. If you think he's trying to look sweet at Jimin to make the older one blush or anything then you're wrong because what he said just now didn't come from him… But the heart itself, he didn't even realize what he said.
While Jungkook was lost in the male's crescent eyes, Jimin on the other side was lost in him…
The emotions he felt that time was unexplainable that he couldn't say anything but only stare at Jungkook as if it was his first time seeing the younger in his life. And yeah, Jimin knows he already said it but here he says it again; Jungkook is beautiful. Not the male's face he implied to, but the person itself. Something about the pair of does' eyes looking right in his soul, the thin yet pink rosy lips curved into a pout, the heavy eye-lashes that make the hazel eyes more fascinating, the rarely seen scar on the right cheek that was called imperfection by him… It was stunning.
No. Jungkook is not beautiful. But the meaning of beautiful… There's a difference.
"I know I'm handsome and I'll always be here with you but you might as well take a picture. Who knows, you will miss me later…" Jungkook suddenly let out, waking Jimin up from his trance as he looked away from the younger and smiled a little bit before glancing upfront again only to meet with a sight of the male smirking at him in a teasing way. "Pft who said you're handsome Mister? You're so full of yourself." Jimin mocked, unrealized his sudden behavior change that night as Jungkook blinked a few times and made an offended face; questing himself whether he's handsome or not.
"Hey!! I'm handsome, okay?!" He defended, making Jimin giggle; couldn't help but think the action was cute; making Jungkook widen his eyes in return.
"Who says, huh?"
"Well, my mom, my father, and even my workers!!" Jungkook protested, making Jimin laugh out loud and eventually lose his balance and almost fall from the chair if he didn't hold onto the table; making the younger one smile at the sight. He actually didn't even care if Jimin said he's not handsome because the world knows he is, hell, God knows he is but he keeps upholding the joke just to make the others happy.
And seeing Jimin laugh that night was everything Jungkook could ask for…
"Well, I pity them. They may be blind." Jimin giggled, finding it funny and childish of the CEO to act like that while Jungkook clicked his tongue before rolling his eyes, acting as if he was annoyed but at last smile a little bit; couldn't help but to feel glad that night went smooth without any sexual activity.
"Anyways, can I take you out for dinner tomorrow?" Jungkook hesitantly asked, looking at Jimin who stopped chewing the food and thinking a little bit before nodding, earning the younger bunny a grin. "You don't have to ask, Jungkook. I agree to give you a chance. Just do whatever you want and pick me. No need to ask." The older said as Jungkook nodded, taking mental notes to check where places they could go after.
"Is there anything else?" Jimin asked when he saw Jungkook was still staring at him as the younger one opened his mouth to say something.
‘Thank you for giving me a chance, I love you.’
"Uh, nothing. Finish your food, it's getting late already here… I'll send you home." He spoke and received a nod from Jimin as the table once again went silent.
It's too early to say that. He needs to give Jimin more time.
