All at once, different voices echoed the room, random chit chat and business agreements were heard. The simultaneous voices rang through Adelaide's ears, she was meters away yet she could hear how loud they were being.

Rubbing her forehead, she sent polite smiles to the wives seated across from her as they send her worried glances.

"Adelaide, your posture." Sitting up straighter, she complied to her mother's orders.

Everyone in the house was either her parent's business associates, their wives, the eldest child or the staff. Events like these bore her to death, the wives would constantly pick on every little detail and complain and complain and occasionally boast about their husbands' wealth, properties and companies. It was a silent feud between all the wives to talk about their wealth and wait for the others to shatter on how unsuccessful they were compared to the others. If it weren't for her mother inviting their associates' family, she wouldn't have to endure afternoon tea with them.

Everyone's voices seemed to be getting louder, amplifying the already growing headache she had. It didn't help that wives kept asking about her plans for college, in which she politely replied with the same answer she had been given to say by her mother. A major in business management in one of the Ivy League schools that her parents were capable of buying their way into. It's her path to success, her mother would always say. In truth, she had no clue what she wanted to do or where she wanted to attend to in the fall.

The wall on the clock ticked. Tick Tock Tick Tock. Adelaide stared as the seconds passed by one after the other.

"Adelaide, dear, would you pass the tea?" A middle age woman with white pearls around her neck and an obvious nose job had asked.

"Yes, I'd be glad too." Adelaide answered, her voice dripping with venom that the other women in the room couldn't hear.

She picked up the expensive porcelain tea pot, holding it by its side so it would not fall. It was when she was about to pass it to the woman, her hands flinched at the hotness and it fell against the glass table, spilling the contents toward her.

Manicured finger nails tapped against the glass table, Adelaide's mother tapping them again and again as she moved her gaze from the broken tea pot to her.

"Adelaide," she said, sending her disapproving looks. The people that were talking to her father a mere few meters away from them, all turned their heads, looking at the disaster that just happened.

"I apologize, I'll look for a staff member to clean this up," she said, unwillingly apologizing to her mother and to the guests. Her eyes were brimming with tears, trying not to look at her parents for they surely would have disappointment and shame written across their faces as they looked at her.

"Here, let me help you." A male's low voice was heard, Adelaide looked up to see a clean cut boy around her age, a lazy smile on his lips.

"No, it's quite alright, I can handle it." she replied, moving around the table so that she can go and find a maid.

"What a gentleman, my boy is. Isn't he, Adelaide?" Another woman said, this time Adelaide nodded her head looking over to her mother.

"Let the boy help," she told her with a flat tone. Another nod and she faced the clean cut boy.

"I'll just change and then we can go find one of the staff members to clean this up," she said. The boy nodded, following as she manuevered herself around the guests and onto the staircase that led to the rooms.

"Exciting isn't it?" He said, walking step by step beside her as they reached the end of the set of stairs.

"What is?"

"Knowing that you'll be like my mother and your mother soon enough," he told her. Adelaide stopped on her tracks and faced him, crossing her arms over one another.

With one eyebrow raised, she said, "Excuse me?"

"It's bound to be like that anyway."

Rolling her eyes, she turned back opening the door to her room and entering, while she was about to close the door on the boy's face, he placed on foot in front of him. Successfully stopping the door from closing.

"I'm going to change, wait outside," she told him, trying to nudge the door so it would close.

The boy made a 'tsk' sound, opening the door wider and closing it behind him. He locked it as he made his way towards Adelaide. She took a step back.

"Now-" he moved forward, closing in on the distance between them.A mischievous smile played on his lips, "I would rather stay in your room. Why won't you give me a show while you change?"

"I-I-" He reached out to her, one hand playing on the strands of her hair. Twirling it around his fingertips. Adelaide tried taking steps back but it only resulted in him backing her against the wall.

Her fingers shook, she tried moving around him but he caught her wrist and pushed her back against the wall.

"Aw why are you leaving? We haven't even started," he told her, moving his index finger to her lips and down to her collar bones.

"What- What are you doing?" Her voice cracked as she struggled to say something, anything.

The boy pressed his body against hers, kissing her cheek while he held both her arms. He smiled as he inched lower down her face.

"Isn't it obvious?" He whispered in her ear. "I'm going to fuck you and you're going to like it, baby doll."

Adelaide trembled, her body wiggling from side to side trying to get away from this- this boy she barely even knows.

"Stop fighting," he told her, kissing down to her neck, biting slightly as he felt her flinch. He started sucking on a spot just right below her ear, on her neck. Adelaide closed her eyes trying to think of what to do but she was helpless.

He stopped kissing her neck, trying to inspect what he had just done and he felt pride to see the dark purple that had formed.

"I know you're going to like it."

She tried shaking her head no but he released one of his hands and cupped her cheek, feeling the few drops of tears she let out.

As she was about to scream for help, his lips covered hers. His hands on her waist going lower and lower. He tried to pry her mouth open but she was cold as a statue.

Just as his hands started reaching up on her thigh, her dress bunching up because of him, a knock was heard on the door.

"Ms. Callahan? Your Father requests that you go downstairs immediately." a female voice had said from the other side of the door. When no reply was heard, the knocking became insistent.

"Please, Ms. You need to come down." the female voice had said again.

"I guess fun time is over, baby doll." His touch was no longer on her skin and he took a step back, his eyes lighting up as if he were happy with what just happened.

Adelaide was still in shock, her hands shaking beside her as she reached up to her neck, feeling the effects of his violation.

"Now if you tell anybody of what just happened, I could just tell them you dragged me up to your room and allowed me to do it, besides-" he reached for the door knob. "You don't want to ruin your parents little perfect reputation do you?"

The boy let out a small laugh, winking at her as he got out. Adelaide stood there, frozen on the spot as the owner of the female voice, who was dressed in a maid uniform hovered in front of the door.

"Ms?" She said.

Briefly closing her eyes, Adelaide took a deep breath and looked up towards the maid. "I'll be right back down, I just need to change."

With that, the maid left and Adelaide was left alone in her room. She went to her bathroom and looked for her makeup kit, trying to find concealer and foundation to cover up the hickey he left on her neck.

As she was covering up, she looked at herself in the mirror and sighed. She sighed because he was correct.

If she told her parents what would happen, they wouldn't believe her and it'll worsen the disappointing reputation they already think of her.

She couldn't have that.
