Yoonmin
"Holy shit, who is that?"
"Stop being gay for ten seconds, Parkie."
Jimin shoots you a sour look as the two boys walk through the front doors, bowing respectfully. "My name is Kim Seokjin, representative from KNJ Corporations."
The other man who Jimin was eyeing does a polite bow as well. "Min Yoongi."
Jimin stares with an open mouth before coming back to his senses. "Park Jimin, this is my assistant, Y/n L/n." You bow to them while Jimin shakes their hands, lingering on Yoongi (cheeky bastard). "If you'll follow me right this way, I'll take you to the conference room," Jimin offers.
Although you're confused as hell, you follow. He asked you to come with, but this isn't like him. You're not his assistant, you're the manager of the recruitment team. You handle interviews and rookies, not conferences.
Regardless, you don't complain, heading inside the room as Jimin holds the door. You thank him, waiting for the other two to take their seats first before taking yours. Jimin sits next to you, clearing his throat as he stares down the two.
"So, business is boring. I'm more curious to know about you," he starts, leaning back in his chair. He's staring right at Yoongi. Ugh, this boy. He's a millionaire, but he can't stay professional for two seconds. How does this man exist?
"I'm more curious about your haircut," Yoongi replies, no emotion on his face.
"Like it?" Jimin teases.
"Sir," you mutter, kicking his foot under the table.
Jimin clears his throat. "Joking of course. I always start my meetings with jokes, please don't take that the wrong way. Anyway, business. What can I do for you?" Jimin asks, folding his hands together on the table.
KNJ Corporations, you've never heard of it. Well, that makes sense, you manage recruits not the actual business part of it. Jimin never talks about them. When he said 'business is pretty boring', he wasn't kidding. Despite being one of the biggest businessmen around, he still finds it boring. You never understood how that worked, but whatever.
"You've been covering a lot of territory recently," Yoongi says, Jimin humming with a slight smirk on his face. Uh oh, here comes the flirting.
"Well I knew it would land me a meeting with my biggest competitor, so I had to," Jimin replies, keeping his tone light and playful.
Yoongi just blinks, again unaffected. "Noted, next time we won't waste our time coming in then," Yoongi says.
"I don't think this is a waste. Meeting your competitors is never a bad thing, Mr. Min."
These two are so hopeless. You don't get paid enough to deal with it.
"Should I get coffee?" you ask, perking up. Jimin glances at you with furrowed brows while Yoongi lights up.
"That's the best idea ever. I like mine black."
"Understood. Park?" you ask, turning to your boss with a stern look that says 'flirt with him when you're alone'. Wait, when they're alone... genius idea, L/n!
"I'm good. Do you need help carrying it?" he asks. He fell right into your trap.
"I'd like to enlist the help of Mr. Kim, I have a personal question to ask him," you say, turning to Jin. He seems confused but nods, standing and fixing his suit. Jimin glares at you, clearly mortified and knowing what you're planning.
You smirk, patting him on the shoulder. "You're not the only Cupid around here, Park," you whisper to him before leaving with Jin. As soon as the doors close, you take Jin down the hall. "Right this way. Do you like coffee?"
"Sure, I'll take some if it's free."
You chuckle. "Clever. No wonder why you're our competitors. I wouldn't know, he just dragged me in there without warning. I'm not his assistant, I'm just a recruitment manager."
"You handled yourself and your boss well. I'm surprised you aren't his personal assistant."
You laugh. "At this point I am, he's been my best friend since we were little. I babysit him every time I come into work. Somehow I don't get paid overtime for that."
To your surprise, Jin laughs at your joke. He almost sounds like a windshield wiper, and that sound alone causes you to laugh with him.
"Not you too," Jin whines.
"What? I wasn't going to make fun of you, I like your laugh. It's the kind of sound that lights up a room," you reply as you stroll into the dining area, going over to the coffee machine.
"You mean that?" he asks, getting a little shy.
You grab two cups, handing one to him. "I do."
He smiles, pointing to the machine right after. "No coffee for you?"
You shake him off. "If I'm going to put up with Jimin helplessly staring at Yoongi all day, I think I'll need something stronger than coffee."
"Well it won't be helpless. Yoongi's definitely into it."
"What? No way."
"Yoongi never talks at meetings, but now he is. Wonder why," Jin replies with a smirk.
You process the words, then break out into a large grin. "Finally!"
"What?" Jin asks, confused. You light up more, bouncing up and down despite your mission to get coffee.
"My best friend is getting laid!"
~After the meeting~
Jimin struts out of the room, his lips pulled into a smirk. "Getting money and bitches, guess I have smooth moves," he says, holding up a business card.
Y/n snatches it, laughing at him. "Yoongi gave you his business number? I'm not sure if I should laugh or be proud."
"Proud!" Jimin whines, pouting.
"Okay, okay. I'll choose to be proud but just this once. What did you guys talk about while I stole Jin?"
"Uh..." Y/n gives him a knowing look. "Listen, just because I get shy does not mean that-"
"Hand it over."
Jimin groans, grabbing his wallet from out of his pocket. Within a few seconds, he places a twenty in her outstretched hand.
"Happy?"
"Very. I only make bets I win, Jiminie. You should know that by now," she replies with a smug smile.
Yes, they bet on Jimin's love life a while back. She bet he would be too shy to ask for a guy's number while Jimin bet the latter. So Yoongi made the first move, so what?
'Just take my number already', is what Yoongi said as soon as Y/n and Jin left. Jimin was both mortified and impressed that Yoongi was so good at reading people.
"Did you score a date?" she asks, but Jimin pouts again and shakes his head.
"I have to text him first."
"Or call him and take him out tomorrow night."
"How about this? If I call him tonight and ask him that, can you do me a favor?" he asks.
"Sure. What's this favor?"
He comes closer, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Take a promotion."
Her eyes nearly burst out of her head. "Excuse me?!"
"I want to transfer Jungkook to Taehyung's department, but to do that, I'll be down a worker. So I thought why not just kill two birds with one stone? Well, more like four birds. Give you a promotion, play Cupid, get a personal assistant, and have my assistant be someone I like!"
"You want me to be your personal assistant?" she asks, her mouth falling open.
"I do. Only if you accept, of course."
"I can stop dealing with phone calls from people whining about how they didn't get the job?" she says in awe. He nods. "Hell yeah!" She cheers, bouncing up and down before hugging him tightly. "Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you-"
"You're welcome you're welcome you're welcome," he teases, pulling away from the hug. "Go pack up your stuff, you're moving into my office." She smiles brightly, preparing to dash down the hall. "Oh, Y/n, can you do me one last favor?" She glances at him, cutely nodding. He lets out a long sigh. "Get a partner already, my best friend needs to get laid too."
"Park Jimin!"
~Dreamscape~
"Wooo! Dream yoga!" you yell, Namjoon laughing at you as you do a spin.
"I don't think that's yoga," he points out, but you give him a huff.
"This is a lucid dream, remember? Reality is whatever I want it to be."
"Sure," he replies with a small snort. "Whatever you say, L/n."
"Y/n," you correct, floating back down to the grass. "It's Y/n. Not L/n, not Miss L/n... Y/n."
"Right, and my name's Namjoon. Not Joon, not Mr. Kim, not Kim... Namjoon."
"I'm still calling you Joonie," you cheekily reply, booping his nose before pushing off again.
He watches in awe as you float above him, humming a small tune to yourself while you spin around.
"Come on up! The air's nice!" you cheer, the man chuckling beneath you.
"I'm good on the ground, thanks."
"Booo boring. We don't know how many more of these dreams we'll have, Joon. We should make the most of them!" you reply.
He looks like he's about to protest, then, he stops and shrugs. Within an instant, he's starting to push off again, then curses.
"What? What's wrong? Are you okay?" you ask, coming over.
"Yeah, I just broke the sole of my shoe," he complains, holding up his shoe to show you. Okay, you can't resist. You burst out laughing. "What?"
"N-No just... you broke a shoe... in your own dream," you say in between your laughter. "God of destruction much?" You figured he'd get angry or annoyed, but instead he sighs, smiling ever so slightly. "Ooooh am I seeing a smile from Mr. Kim?"
"Namjoon!" he says in a hiss, only making you laugh more.
"Sorry Joonie, couldn't resist. But seriously, was that a smile I saw?"
"I've smiled before!" he protests.
"You don't seem like the type to smile a whole lot." Namjoon purses his lips in thought as you come down, landing on the ground once again.
"I... don't?" he asks slowly, as if confused by the words he's speaking.
"Not really. You seem like you don't smile enough." He seems taken aback. "You okay?"
He takes a moment, then nods. "Yeah. Yeah I am," he replies, shaking you off.
Well, that was weird. He's definitely not okay. You sit, patting the spot next to you. "Come. Talk. Like I said before, we don't know how many more times we'll get in here. We should enjoy it," you say.
He hesitates, then agrees, sitting next to you. "Why aren't you with your parents?" he suddenly asks, looking at you with curious eyes.
"It's nothing bad, I just 'grew up'," you explain, then, let out a huff. "But I still don't feel 'grown up'. I mean, I know I'm young, but still. It feels like I never really moved forward, you know?"
"Yeah, more than you realize, I understand."
"Where are your parents?"
"They're away. No bad relationship or anything, just like you. I 'grew up'. Started a business, went from there."
"Business? You definitely look like a businessman," you say with a small hum.
He smiles. "Work is... work. Let's stay away from that topic. If we're in a dream, we should focus on the more fun aspects of life, yeah?"
You return his smile. "Even though I already told you a lot of my dark secrets?"
"Dark secrets?" he asks with a laugh.
You shake your head, giggling. "Okay, maybe not 'dark' or 'secrets', but I've told you more than most and it's been three days. I trust you." Your eyes lock, and everything seems to fall into place, even if it's just for a moment. "I don't know why, but I do."
He stares, an unreadable expression resting on his face. Then, after a moment, he grins until his dimples show.
"I trust you too."
