Attire

Stephen, or Steve as he prefers to go by, is rather casual in his attire; preferring to wear plain hoodies and shirts. Actually, he hates dressing up and you won't quickly see him in a suit.

One thing to point out though is that when he turns back to a human, after having been in his toast form, is that he's shirtless. He doesn't really mind being shirtless as well, he refers to it as 'freeing', and when it's very hot he doesn't even bother with wearing a shirt at all.

Background
Steve comes from a large family with five older brothers and one older sister. A total of seven kids. He spends the majority of his childhood in a large house where he lived with his siblings, parents, and grandparents on both sides.

Steve's ability runs in his family. He comes from a long and old line of 'toast shifters', as some family members call themselves. Outside of his family, this ability is unheard of, and most don't even know that such an ability exists in the first place because the family tends to keep to themselves and rarely tell others about their unique ability.

The origin of the toast powers in unknown. But a fairy tale that Steve has always heard is that one of his ancestors loved toast so much that he made a wish upon a star and that his wish /to become toast\ came true. This 'theory' cannot be confirmed though but it tells a nice 'story' for the kids. (Ps, this story is obliviously true hehe)

Within his family, Steve's ability is unique though. For next to turning into a piece of toast, he is also capable of flight. He is a flying toast! Because of this ability, his family views him as a prodigy.

Steve and his siblings mostly grew up indoors. And being the youngest of seven kids, Steve needed to find a way to make himself heard - he loves attention - so he started pulling pranks on his family. He quickly discovered that he loved doing that. Most of the time his pranks were directed at his siblings, but occasionally they also teamed up on the adults.

Even though growing up mostly indoors, they did occasionally go on family outings. Steve has fond memories of those and he honestly loves going to fairs and amusement parks - especially looking forward to all the candy he always gets.

He actually grew up pretty normal... or as normal as it can get in his case at least.

And then he went to the school. At school, he kept his mischievous attitude and his love for pranks. He's a very happy go lucky kid who pranks basically everyone for fits and giggles and who's just a precious smol bean.

Characteristics
Steve's greatest characteristic is his unique ability to turn himself into a flying buttered toast. Another notable trait is his mischievous nature and his love for pranks.

Personality
Steve is an easy person to get along with. It is hard to upset him for long and he generally is a bundle of joy to be around - as long as you are not the victim of his pranks. Generally, he's a very kind and open hearted person who doesn't likes seeing others upset. He holds others in high regard, despite their many faults, and always gives anybody a fair change before judging them. (Put simply: he's a precious smol bean who needs to be protected at all costs)

Because of him living indoors for most of his life, he can be kinda naive on occasion and he doesn't fully understands the world, but his curiosity often prompts him to try out unknown things and he is very adamant in learning. He often gets himself into trouble too, and he has the habit of being at the wrong place at the wrong time - but he /luckily\ always manages to pull it off.

He behaves in a mischievous manner, enjoying pulling pranks on his victims, occasionally with a side-dish of humor. Sometimes his pranks will bring him into trouble. He is widely known as a trickster, and he takes great pride in that fact. Being around Steve is never boring.

He also has a crush on Jensen, The Hunter, but he doesn't really does anything about it because he's convinced that he doesn't likes him back and that it won't work out anyway. So for now, he settles on admiring him from afar. (Ps, their shipname is Jeve)

Likes
Steve is a real trickster and he's really fond of pranking others. He loves attention. He always had a great love for nougat chocolate bars and they make him very happy. He is also very fond and fascinated by the outside world, mostly because he stayed indoors most of his life, so he loves going out and discovering new things.

Dislikes
For oblivious reasons, Steve hates eating any form of toast. He doesn't like being forced to wear fancy clothes either - or being forced to wear anything in general. He also doesn't like it when others disturb his pranks and when he's being ignored. He doesn't likes being called 'stupid' just because he doesn't understands something.

Turning into toast
Steve has the ability to turn himself into a single piece of buttered toast. Of course, he can turn himself back as well - even though he's shirtless then.

Flying
As a piece of toast, Steve is capable of flight. He can also fly in his human form, but he's less skilled in doing so - he often flies against things as a human.

Fire can burn toast so it can burn him as well.

He has a serious fear of toasters. They creep him out. He occasionally has nightmares about them as well.
