Free Will Is An Illusion

The radiance of the sun shone behind him,
Bathing him in Heaven's glory and light,
He was the brightest star in sight.

He had his brothers and they were happy,
Until the faithful day which was rather whacky.

The brother rose up above the stars,
Creating countless lines of scars,
Blood flowed,
And fire burned.

"Throw him into the abyss!" Was the command he got,
To forsake his own brother,
Whom he has always and will always love,
But the 'good son' couldn't ignore,
Not his Father's command.

Crystal tears streaming down his face,
And his brother got consumed by Hell's flames.

Fire cannot and will not burn in rain,
Just like the invisible scars will always remain.

He has always tried to be who Father wanted him to be,
The good and loyal son,
But in the end, he could never be enough.

The glimmer in his eyes long since gone,
He hasn't seen hope for so long,
Every step is a reminder of his sins and pain,
But every time he tries to stop it's all in vain.

All his attempts, scattered apart,
Nothing could save him for he has been severed,
He was breathing but his heart had long since ceased.

Everyone only leaves,
Abandoning him,
While they deceive,
There was no saving grace,
Just a tragedy covered in a shield of lace.

The tears, they fall,
And his voice, it did call,
But there was no one,
For they were all gone.

Maybe once he had believed in free will,
But he stopped believing a long time ago...
Even for himself.

Free will is an illusion.
