Imagine getting the day off and spending the whole valentine's day with Mac

I might be getting back into this book since I have been neglecting this one for quite some time so bear with me slightly

Since Mac never really took days off for work since half the time Maddy or Russell never let them since the world needed saving from God knows what organization or terrorist plots that were happening over the world, but you, who doesn't work for them, somehow persuaded one to let him have 4 days off

Now you see getting gifts for Mac for you was easy since you have a good memory unlike Jack but the only thing that stopped you for the day was something to do instead of just sitting in the house and doing nothing which is what you were doing so while Mac was in the kitchen making God knows what you were on the couch cross legged and staring into space

"Penny for your thoughts?" Mac asked after a while, but you ignored him since you were in your own world making him chuckle amused before carefully setting his stuff down and walked over to you but even that didn't make you move so he lightly rested a hand on your shoulder making you jump slightly

"Don't do that...Jesus" you spoke as you rested a hand on your heart as you fake glared at him before slowly starting to relax yourself back into the position you had before

"I did say something what are you thinking about so heavily?" he asked with an amused smirk on his face before moving to sit next to you

"Just stuff nothing important" you waved off as you took a deep breath and look down a bit before pulling up your laptop to further help your problem hopefully

"Stuff that made you stare at your probably now cold cup of coffee that I specially made for you I'm hurt" he said with fake sadness as he rested a hand on his chest with a pout making you chuckle a bit after a small sigh

"Sorry I guess I got too distracted..." you sighed as you grabbed the coffee and took a gulp since it was still hot slowly going into the warm faze

"it's ok but maybe we should do something? To help you freshen your mind?" he suggests standing up from his spot, but you waved him off

"Your busy and so am I so it's fine and besides Maddy or Russell might need you so I can't keep you too occupied" you spoke out with a small smile but chuckled as his phone went off and for some weird coincidence Maddy called him in to fill in a few pieces of paperwork he forgot to do the day before "told you your busy' you chuckled amused making him shake his head with a small chuckle

"I'll be back soon in the meantime try to relax, ok?" he spoke out as you nodded, and he kissed the top of your head lovingly but before he pulled away you tugged his arm down slightly and kissed him sweetly for a few moments before you both pulled away and he reluctantly went to answer the call

After an hour you found a few ideas and started to get stuff for it before making it though you no MacGyver, but you made it work nonetheless and hid the evidence before he got back which was premature since he wasn't back for 3 hours since more stuff got piled on him while he was there which you didn't mind more time for you to work on your project

A few days later

When valentine's day went around you made sure you got up before Mac and went to the kitchen to make him breakfast with heart shaped waffles with cinnamon on along with various fruits and syrups as well as a side of bacon and prepared it but as you were about to turn and go get him you heard the shower

Since you knew he wouldn't be too long you decided to start making both of you coffee but as that was brewing in the machine you cleaned up all of your mess and put it away just in time for him coming out of the bathroom

When he was done and came out in just his blue sweatpants, he laughed slightly at how the counter looked despite the fact that everything else you had used was clean he looked at you and smiled

"You didn't have to do all this" he spoke out as he wrapped his arm around your waist and held you close kissing your cheek softly making you smile shyly a blush a bit

"I wanted to since its very rare we get this day off together" you spoke out leaning into him before turning to face him and peck his lips softly

"Well lets enjoy today then since we would probably be working tomorrow to make up for the missed day" he spoke out as he pulled away and moved to sit down

"Uh...the thing is...you have the day off for the rest of the week..." you spoke out quietly as you set his cup down and slowly sat in front of him

"Why?" he asked confused at how he got that long off

"Well...it is just added to the valentine gifts for the day and because I thought you needed it" you said with a small smile hoping he wouldn't be too upset but he shrugged it off with a smile on his face as he was happy that he could finally get a few days sleep

"That's good more time to spend with you since leaving you for weeks at a time wasn't a good thing for us" he smiled as he started to set his plate and you did the same but waited till he tasted his food first wanting to see if he liked it or not

"So...?" you said softly waiting with a small smile on your face

"Uh...can I get this everyday...even if it's just the waffles..." he asked softly with a shy smile on his face making you chuckle cutely

"Sure, babe ill make you these every day and I'll make you lunch for the plane ride too if that's ok with them" you spoke out softly making him nod happily as he continued to dig into his meal, and you did the same

When you both finished breakfast Mac had cleaned up and did the dishes for it while you went to have a shower and got dressed for the day and when Mac was done, he did the same, but he made sure to finish off the bacon making you look at him mock offended, but he smirked and just finished it as if he did no wrong which made you chuckle

"Before we leave to where I have planned the day, I wanted to give you something besides the extra 3 days off" you chuckled as you gave him a medium square sized box "I'm not you when it comes to this type of stuff, but I thought I did a good job at them" you spoke out with a small shrug

"You didn't have to you know" he smiled softly as he pecked your lips softly as he opened the box to reveal handcrafted paperclips pins made into various shapes some being famous buildings from each country, some of them were of what he made which he thought discarded in the briefing room and others were valentine themed, a 4-leaf clover for luck and one random paperclip untouched in little bags, so it was easier to pick them out to use

{if I didn't explain it right its basically homemade paperclips with pin backs glued to it 😅}

"You don't have to wear them I just thought it would be cute to have one on the lapel of your jacket for work...to have a little piece of me every time you leave" you spoke out as you watched him look through them

"I thought they would've just binned these little creations I made while in thought at briefing" he exclaimed picking one out of the box since he made that one only a few days ago

"Yeah...well I asked them to take them for me and keep them in a little bag so that way I could do this at some point" you spoke out shyly scratching the back of your neck awkwardly

"These are cute thank you" he spoke out softly as he randomly picked up the heart shaped one and put it on his leather jacket with a happy smile on his face "now I have to do something to top all of this" he spoke out with thoughtful look on his face

"You don't have to you just being here with me is the best gift since I rarely see you at the best of times" you said softly as he leaned into him and kissed him softly while he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer

You both left to just have a walk around the town with Mac buying you whatever you wanted which so you bought a few clothes and some jewelry which you refused at first since you hardly wore it, but he insisted before stumbling upon a farmers market which you both bought stuff for the house while him getting you a bunch of white roses since you preferred them over the red ones

After you had dropped everything off at home Mac decided to take you out for dinner before you both went to the carnival, they had for the day which Mac cheated on some of them just to get you giant stuffed animals {bear, unicorn, sloth, panda and dinosaur} but when you both couldn't carry anymore you put them in his car and decided to go to the beach and enjoy the quiet night under the stars before going home and ended the night with not much sleep

With his other days off were similar to last night while also catching up on a few things he couldn't do due to work as well as tv shows that he has missed while he was away, so he spent that with you while having takeout since you both didn't want to cook anything for the past two nights

First day back at phoenix

After Mac had his breakfast that you started doing every morning for him since he wanted it that way everyone had looked at him weirdly as he walked in, but Jack saw him first and patted his back playfully

"So, Mac how was your days off hm? Getting some with the girl?" he teased making Mac look at him weirdly but chuckled

"My days off were refreshing actually I was happy that I was able to finish off my project that I had started before my days off..." Mac spoke out as he started to explain about what he was doing beforehand which slowly started to bore Jack slightly as Mac was started to get technical about it all as they reached the briefing room

"What did you guys do for valentine's day?" riley asked as she was sitting on one of the couches, but Jack motioned for her not to ask but she did anyway

"Well after she made me a nice breakfast before we left to go around town with me buying her what she wanted then went to a farmers market which we stumbled upon then went to the carnival that was set up...then..." he started as he looked at riley but slowly trailed off as Bozer was inspecting the 4-leaf clover pin on his jacket "Y/N made it as well as other pins they are quiet cute to be honest" he spoke out watching him

"Can she make me some?" he asked, and Mac looked at him slightly in jealousy for a few seconds before smiling softly as if it didn't happen

"Sure, I could ask for you if she's not too busy of course" Mac replied as Bozer nodded as they went to briefing when the bosses came through, but Russell started to tease him about his days off, but Maddy stopped him since it wasn't important to the mission at hand
