Imagine planning a day for Mac since it's his birthday

To most people it was a casual day where they go off to work or have a lazy day in and binge watch tv but today of all days was Mac's birthday and despite it being his special day he still wanted to go into work and miss it, but his girlfriend of 2 years was going to change all of that and made sure he stayed off.

When Maddy made her usual phone call to get her team up and you grabbed his phone before Mac did but there wasn't much of a fight since he was already still asleep cuddling up to the pillow and walked into a different room so he wouldn't hear me when you talked to Maddy demanding that we would have the day off and without any argument she agreed once a reason was given but in return you would have to do stuff for her instead of a mission the next day which you were fine with and hung up.

You walked back to the bedroom and watched mac for a bit to see if he had woken up or moved to the bathroom for a shower but to my surprise, he was still asleep and didn't hear his phone go off you decided to go and make him breakfast humming a small tune as you did.

after a while a freshly dressed Mac was up and was searching for his phone which you kept on you and on silent, so he didn't hear the phone ring "babe you seen my phone I normally keep it on the bedside table?" Mac asked as he looked around the living room.

"no sorry but while you're up you can sit and have your favourite according to Bozer" you chuckled as you set a plate of freshly made pancakes with bacon and blueberry's "do you want maple syrup with them?" you added with a small smile causing Mac to chuckle and sat down shaking his head just as is set down a fresh glass of orange juice before he started digging in

"I have a fun day planned for just the two of us" you said happily as you joined him after a while with a happy grin on my face.

"babe I would love to, but we have work you know that and Maddy won't be happy that were skipping on work" he said sadly looking down.

"it's fine I spoke to Maddy this morning and she said we were allowed the day off free of charge" you replied happily looking at him.

"really!?" he said surprised yet confused as his head shot up to look at you with a mixture of shocked and confused look.

"Yes, now shush and eat your breakfast you'll need it" you ordered teasingly before turning around and went back to making more for him then cleaned up my mess.

When he was finished, and everything was put away you went to change into a cute little outfit.

Once we headed out you decided to take Mac to an escape room you planned but it was Phoenix escape room, but it wasn't at the Phoenix foundation they made it in a different location so it would seem more casual since Matty wanted him to do some Phoenix work if he couldn't do a mission, but Mac didn't know that, so you kept it quiet.

Mac chuckled slightly "You know these things are easy you could've just done something else".

"Yeah, well you wanted to do one with you to see how quick you can do it" you smiled softly as the door shut and the timer started.

Half an hour later

Mac and you were almost finished the game and had 20 minutes left on the clock but as Mac was about to finish it, he stopped for a minute and chuckled before turning to you and held you close.

"Mac, you know that we don't have that much time left" you chuckled a bit looking up at him with a small smile.

"Yeah but I just realized I'm stuck in a somewhat small room with the most beautiful and adorable girl I have ever come to love" he whispered against your lips before kissing them softly as his hands rested on your waist softly as you blushed slightly kissing back passionately while resting your hands on his chest.

They both stayed like that for a while before slowly pulling away with a small smile "as much as I would love to stay here close to you baby I have more stuff planned for your special day" you smiled softly pecking his nose sweetly

He reluctantly nodded with a small smile after kissing you're for a few more minutes before pulling away and solved the room letting us leave.

When we left, we went to get smoothies from a new place then headed to the park enjoying the peace and the sun for a few hours since we hardly got the time to due to our work-related problems. As we relaxed Mac decided to make a small daisy chain crown for you, once he was done, he placed it on your head cutely whereas I did the same with buttercups making it look like a royal crown.

You moved to straddle his hips with a small smile and placed it on his head while his hands rested on my hips "thanks babygirl" he said softly pecking my nose while we stayed there for a while conversing and cuddling.

A few more hours had passed, and we headed home, when Mac went to go sit in the living room you went to the kitchen and made dinner which was a simple lasagne dish with a small salad and wedges.

While that was cooking you went to the small side room, we used to keep the cleaning supplies since Mac hardly looks in there and pulled out a few presents and came back to him.

"Here my dear boy scout" you smiled soft as you handed them to him while you moved to sit cross legged next to him.

"Babe, you didn't have to what you did today was enough" Mac said softly as he turned to me.

"But I wanted to and besides you hardly spend anything on yourself these days" you said quietly while he chuckled but nodded with a smile.

"Ok ok" he chuckled as he opened the smallest box which held a small bracelet which had 'happy birthday Mac - love Y/N' engraved on the silver plating while the band was made out of paper clips "it's not MacGyver style but I tried to do what you do but it didn't work" I laughed a bit awkwardly as he smiled "I love it baby its adorable" he said softly whilst he put it on his wrist

The other present he got was some new suit shirts that he loved to wear since I kept stealing them and the final one was his fixed pocketknife since it got broken a few missions ago so when you had the day off and Mac had fitness training with the team you got it sent and fixed luckily it got repaired on the same day, so you just hid it till Mac's birthday turned up

"I've been looking for this...aww and you got it repaired thank you" he said happily as he hugged and kissed my cheek softly.

As the day went by it mostly consisted of having dinner and movies till, we went to bed where we had a little fun that lasted till 2am.
