Mac finding someone new when another team member joins the team for one mission.

Keep in mind I'm watching season 5 episode 1 so itgave me a good idea for this one but despite what is happened in season 5 jackis alive cause no matter what I can't accept his death but hope you enjoy fanfic

After codex was defeated and the world was saved for another day the connection between desi and mac and been falling apart from their trust and then the pandemic started, they tried to get their relationship back to normal while being locked up in the house, but it still didn't get any better

A month before the pandemic was almost finished and the world was cured Mac and Desi had split up and they both got two different places which Mac paid as an apology for the codex mission so when Mac and the team got back to work desi left which was understandable seeing as the last pair wouldn't be a good team work so Maddy thought it was a good idea.

You were already in the room getting briefed on the team, so you know what to expect but everyone knows hearing/reading about someone is completely different then actually meeting and or working with them.

Meanwhile in the hallway

The team was standing outside looking at the foggy windows taking bids on what was happening since they didn't get told anything about what was happening in the text, they get from her in the morning.

"New member it has to be since desi left" riley piped up leaning against the wall flicking up from her phone to the window every so often not really bothered by what was in the room as much as the other 3 people.

"She normally would warn us before we got in if that was the case she could be talking to the director or something for the case" Mac shrugged curiously as he started playing with a paperclip he got from home since the bowl he normally gets them from was in the room they weren't allowed in.

"Nah I think its jack has finally returned and they are arguing but its fogged so that we don't get the surprise ruined" Bozer spoke shaking his hand at the others response on what it could be.

"Ok Boze that's the worst one" riley shook her head putting her phone in her pocket as she finally took an interest in what was happening.

"What it seems better than what you guys had" Bozer shook his head as they looked at the windows in curiosity.

After a small while the door to the office opened "you guys coming in or do you need an invitation?" Maddy asked in a sassy tone which caused the team to jump up and walk in a little startled since they assumed that they had to wait outside.

"This is agent L/N, and he will be your new partner he will take over the role of desi for this mission and also his trail run" Maddy explained as she walked to her usual spot "if you think he needs to learn certain things or anything you tell me, and I'll make sure he gets it trained for" she added sternly.

"Nice to meet you all" you smiled as you shook your hands with everyone while mac just watched you silently mainly in awe at your beauty.

"You ok angus?" You asked confused waving a small hand in his face which made him snap back into reality and the other laugh at his reaction making him blush.

"Y-yeah sorry" he said with a small shy smile as he shook your hand causing you to smile softly not wanting to embarrass him even more, so you left his reaction to himself.

A few weeks went by

You and the team have gotten along and work well together for time you guys have been with them, but people could tell you and Mac have some sort of crush together despite you making obvious signs you liked him but Bozer and Riley were the only ones who's picked up on it so during missions if it wasn't too stressful you both flirt which amuses the rest of the team for how bad they can be

"I'm still new in town can you give me directions to your house?" You smirked as you snuck around the building since you were trying to find another way in but went back to Mac when Bozer told you there were people coming near them.

"I know I've seen you a lot, but you look like my next boyfriend" Mac smirked as he is making some weird contraption with whatever he picked up along the way and since riley was near Mac and you were near another part of the building Mac started explaining to Riley what he was making causing you smirk a bit at the comeback that fitted perfect with it.

So, you started to fake groan over the speakers "that's its angus talk nerdy to me" he chuckled amused after a few moments as everyone laughed but mac had a slight tint of pink to his cheeks laughing awkwardly.

"Come on mac that was good" Riley chuckled putting his contraption to where he needed it and they both took a few steps away from it in case it didn't go the way it was to be.

"Got anything better Mac or do I win this war? Just on this mission alone" You replied amused before taking some people down before turning the corner to meet up with them as they walked into a nearby lab.

"Is there a science room nearby or do I just sense chemistry between us?" Mac chuckled awkwardly not thinking of a good but used his surroundings for a small flirt.

"Y/N wins sorry mac" Bozer chuckled in Mac's ear causing mac to shake his head in slight defeat.

When they finished the mission and got back to the plane but the whole plane ride was quiet since most of the team got rest, but mac was wondering what to do with the acceptance of your liking him back after a few weeks of him being oblivious.
