Chapter 6- A day of adventure
Blaze was awoken by a knock at her door. She lazily looked at her clock, reading 7:00. She wondered who it could be before knowing exactly who it was.
"Morning, Blaze."
Ricky said to her as she opened her door.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Does it look like I am?"
Ricky suddenly observed her appearance.
"Oh, sorry. It looks like I just woke you up."
He said apologetically.
"That's because you have. I was sleeping when you knocked."
She replied. Ricky looked shocked.
"Oh. I thought you would have been awake."
"Heavy sleeper, remember?"
"Right. Well, may I come in? I'll wait for you to get ready."
He asked.
"Sure. I won't be long."
She let him in and he looked around while she prepared for the day ahead.
"Okay, let's go."
She said to him, having him lead the way out of her apartment.
They reached the college entrance, and the other four were waiting for them.
"There you are! We were beginning to think you wouldn't show up."
Vincent called to them.
"Sorry! I had to get this one out of bed. She was still sleeping when I knocked on her door."
Ricky called.
"Let's not focus on that. I'm here now, right?"
Blaze said, slightly embarrassed.
"Yeah. Let's go. We have a lot to do today."
Ryan replied.
With that, the six set off to spend the day having fun.
They arrived at the city's arcade first.
"The arcade. Nice."
Ricky commented.
"This is one of the best in the city. I've been here a few times before and I love it."
Vincent replied.
"So, what are we doing first?"
Ryan asked.
"Up to you. What do you guys want to-"
Vincent was interrupted by Ricky.
"Whoa- they have Ghost Squad here?! This game is epic! I loved playing this back when I went on vacation with my family last summer. Trust me, if you like shooters, this game will blow your mind."
He said to the group.
"Alright, count me in!"
Ryan said to him, taking the gun next to him. The four watched as the two blasted through the first level of the game, finishing it easily.
"Wow, you sure saved me there."
Ryan said to him, losing a large amount of health.
"I got you, man. Don't worry."
The other four watched in amazement as the pair completed the second level.
"You're amazing at this. You must have played a lot on vacation."
Vincent said to him.
"Almost every day. As a result, I'm especially good."
Ricky replied.
Soon after, Ryan lost the last of his health.
"Oh, damn. I didn't see that guy."
He said returning the gun. Without a second player, Ricky Began to struggle, losing health and eventually dying himself very close to finishing the level.
"No! Aw, I was so close!"
He put the gun back into place, shaking his head.
"That doesn't normally happen, may I just say."
"It's cool- you tried."
Charles said to him.
"Hey girls, you've been rather quiet. Anything you want to try?"
Vincent asked.
"Not really. The arcade isn't really my kind of place."
Blaze replied.
"Yeah, it's not mine either. We'll just watch."
Rachel told them.
"Okay. We'll move on soon. We won't keep you waiting."
Ricky said to them. Vincent spotted a horror game, and was instantly intrigued.
"This is my kind of game. I'm into horror games. I love the thrill. Anyone else in?"
"Yeah- let's do it!"
Charles replied. The two played well together, crushing the endless horde of monsters in their way.
"Yeah, take this!"
Vincent shouted, blasting through the horde with ease.
"Whoa. We've got a pro here."
Ricky said, watching.
"I'm naturally good at these kind of games! I love them too!"
after a long game, the two lost control and their characters were overwhelmed.
"Well, that was fun."
Vincent said, suddenly realising something pop up on the screen.
"Whoa, Charles, we scored higher than anyone ever has playing this game! We're the top scorers for this game!"
Vincent said, happily.
"Whoa, what an achievement. I'm surprised!"
Charles replied.
The entered their names and watched as they were placed at the top spot.
"Now we have something to come back for."
Charles said.
"Yeah, we do. We should some time."
Vincent said, looking at their names at the top.
They moved on, going to watch a movie. They chose one they liked the look of and entered the cinema, excited to watch it.
"What do you think it'll be like?"
Blaze asked.
"Well, what can you expect a comedy to be aside from funny?"
Ricky replied.
"I'm sure we'll enjoy it. It looked to be very good."
Rachel said.
"Yeah, let's enjoy it while we can."
Vincent replied.
The six left the cinema after the movie finished, feeling very jovial.
"That was too funny."
Ricky said.
"Agreed. Best movie of the year so far."
Ryan replied.
"It was pretty good."
Vincent said.
"Well, I'm hungry now. Anyone else?"
Charles asked, the five agreeing. At that point, Braixen remembered the restaurant she'd seen being advertised after she arrived at her apartment.
"I know where we can go. Follow me."
They all reached the restaurant, admiring the look.
"This place looks very colourful. I like it."
Ryan said, looking around.
"Yeah. I wonder what the food is like."
Ricky replied.
"I saw the advertisement on the TV not too long ago. It looked pretty good to me."
Blaze told the group.
"Well, let's hope you're right."
Vincent said.
They soon finished eating, and they all had to admit that Blaze had been right.
"Well, I think it's safe to say that I was right about this place."
She said to the five.
"That you were. This place is my new favourite restaurant."
Vincent replied.
The other four agreed, leaving the restaurant and going one more place before heading home.
The reached the riverside, deciding to go on a walk and enjoy the view. They spotted an ice cream parlour on the way, and decided to take a look before going. After they did, they all walked along the river, with the setting sun turning the sky orange and casting a warm glow over the water.
"It looks great..."
Vincent commented, taking in the view.
"It really does."
Blaze admired it. They spent a long time walking along the river until the sun set under the horizon and the moon and stars glowed in the sky, causing the river to glow white instead of orange.
Blaze loved the sight, and she felt relaxed being with everyone as they walked. She saw an opportunity, and she wasn't about to pass it up. She held Ricky's paw, pulling him back.
"Whoa!"
Ricky said, nearly falling over. The four turned around. You alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just got a little shocked."
Ricky replied.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you."
Blaze apologised.
"It's okay. Don't worry about it."
He noticed that she was holding his paw in her own, blushing a little.
"Everything okay, Blaze?"
She nodded, blushing as well.
The four noticed what was happening.
"Cmon guys. Let's give them some time alone."
Vincent said quietly. The four kept walking, leaving the two behind.
"I just wanted to admire the view with you. It's really pretty, don't you think?"
She asked. What Ricky replied with shocked her deeply.
"It is, but not as pretty as you."
She looked back at him, blushing hard.
"Sorry, what did you say?"
She asked in disbelief.
"I said that its not as pretty as you are."
He replied, smiling. She didn't know how to respond.
"Well, I... I'm..."
She couldn't think of what to say.
"It's alright. You don't have to say anything. I thought it might surprise you, but I couldn't hold it back anymore. I didn't mean to surprise you. I just wanted you to know."
He replied. Blaze was almost crying. She had no idea that he thought of her in such a way, but she couldn't tell him how she felt right there. She was still to stunned to speak. All she could do was smile.
"I may not have known you for too long yet, but I know how I feel, and it's okay if you don't feel the same. I just need to tell you because I can't hold back my feelings forever..."
He looked into her eyes and held her paw, looking at her nervous yet happy expression as he said it. She could already tell what he was going to say before he said it.
"I love you, Blaze."
I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. I'll be updating again soon, so hopefully the cliffhanger will keep you waiting for the next part. See you all later!
