Chapter 2- A new Day, A new Life

Blaze woke up the next day, still tired. She didn't get much sleep that night as she was still getting used to her surroundings. She looked at the clock on the table next to her bed and saw that it read 9:36 am.
"Wow... I slept in."
She said to herself. She got out of bed and went to take a shower. She was a fire type, So she only came into contact with water when she really needed to. This was one such case. Even though the water was considerably hot, she still felt a little chilly.
"One reason why I don't like being a fire type."
She said to herself, finishing up and drying herself off quickly.

She went into the kitchen, simply getting herself a bowl of cereal and watching TV while eating. She watched the news, looking for anything interesting when something caught her eye. She found there was a new restaurant opening in the city.
"Hm, maybe I should go one time. I never say no to a good time out."

She finished up and got ready to really start the day. By this time it was 10:52, and she was eager to get out and look around the city for the first time. The only other time she'd caught a glimpse of it was when she moved the day before- even then she hadn't seen much, so the place was still very new. She got her bag and left her room, looking across the hall. Ricky's door remained closed and silence filled the hall.
"Oh well. Maybe I'll get time to meet him later."
She told herself.

She got into the elevator, went to the ground floor and walked out into the lobby.
"Good morning. How are you feeling today?"
Blaze looked behind her to see the Gardevoir from yesterday standing behind the counter.
"I feel great, thank you. I'm just going out to explore. I don't really know my way around yet."
Blaze replied.
"I see. Have a great day- and don't get lost!"
Blaze smiled.
"I won't. See you later."
She replied, leaving the building.

She walked out into the street, looking around, unsure of where to go first.
"Hmm... I'll go this way!"
She said, going right. She explored the streets, impressed by the overwhelming sights that lined the city's paved roads. There were shops that sold all kinds of different things, from electronics to food. The blue, cloudless sky cast a warmth over the city as the sun beamed overhead. After a journey through the busy streets and taking in the sights, Blaze decided to go to the river and admire the sights she could see from there. It was truly breathtaking. She looked out at the clear water, and saw the land on the other side of the river. She saw where it stopped, and she was able to see where the water and the sky met over the horizon. Blaze loved it- she wished she could stay there forever. Time passed quickly however, and Blaze thought about returning home. She took out her phone and took a picture of the view before putting her phone back in her bag and returning home. She was happy to be back, even though she enjoyed being outside, exploring too. As she approached the elevator she saw Gardevoir behind the counter again.
"Welcome back. I trust you enjoyed your time out."
Gardevoir said.
"Yes, I did. I'll be going out again very soon. I really like it here."
Blaze replied.
"Ah, good. Have a great evening."
Gardevoir told her.
"You too."
Blaze replied.

She got the elevator up to her floor and when she stepped out, she saw none other than Ricky, knocking on her door, a confused look on his face.
"Hey, Ricky. How are you?"
She asked as she walked up to him. She noticed him jump in surprise before looking her way.
"I'm sorry. Did I scare you?"
"Yes, just a little. Don't worry about it though. It's fine."
He replied. Blaze noticed he was holding a package.
"Is that yours?"
She asked.
"This? No, it's yours. That's why I was knocking on your door. I wanted to give it to you. I saw it when I went to check my mail. It was put in my mailbox by mistake, so I thought I'd give it to you myself."
Blaze smiled.
"That's very kind of you. Thank you."
She took the package, seeing a letter attached to it.
"Anyway, that's why I came to see you. I'm sorry for disturbing you."
He said.
"No, no, it's okay. I'm glad you did."
He looked slightly surprised.
"You are?"
"Of course."
She replied, smiling sweetly at him.
"Well, I'm glad you did. Have a nice evening."
He told her.
"The same to you."
She replied as he smiled and went back to his room. Blaze really liked him- he seemed kind, and he was caring enough to give her her belongings personally rather than leaving them somewhere for her to get them herself. And she certainly couldn't deny that he looked really cute to her. And his voice...
She could go on about the things she liked in him. There were so many. There was no denying it- she admired him for who he was. She looked forward to seeing him again.
She got into her room, and realised the boxes from yesterday were still scattered everywhere. She sighed, making them all flat before putting them away for when she would need them again. She felt a little hungry, so she decided to prepare something to eat.
"Okay, what'll it be tonight?"
She asked herself. She remembered a recipe that her mother taught her. She prepared some boiled rice and sliced a banana to put on top of it. Simple, but good and fairly healthy. She enjoyed it and finished it quickly. She looked up at the clock, reading 6:12.
"Wow-what am I going to do for the next few hours?"
She asked. She remembered the package. It was a small one, and it felt padded. She assumed it was bubble wrap, which she was correct about.
"If it's wrapped in bubble wrap, it must be delicate..."
She said to herself. She fully unwrapped the package and found a locket and a chain. She opened it to see two pictures- one of her parents together and another with her two siblings, a male Braixen and her together. She held the locket close to her chest, remembering her family back home. She opened the letter and read it.

To Blaze,
We all hope you're having a great time so far at your new home. We know you're starting college very soon, and we're all very happy and excited for you. We hope you enjoy your first few days and get settled in quickly. We all know how much you wanted to get into that college, so we hope it's what you hope it will be and more. We all miss you and love you very much. It isn't quite the same without you around. We know that it's for the best though, and we all look forward to hearing about your experiences in the near future. We all love you very much and can't wait to hear from you.
Love,
Your mother

She finished reading and shed a tear. She loved her family and had a hard time leaving, but she knew it was the better thing to do, and she went through with it. Now that she was here, she was glad she did. She put the locket around her neck, wearing it as a necklace.

She decided to get ready to go to sleep. It read 10:25 when she did, and she was ready for the new day to begin. She didn't know exactly what she would do, but she planned to make the most of the days she had before college started as she had so much she wanted to do. These thoughts helped her drift off to a less disturbed sleep, the dawn of a new day right around the corner.

I hope you're all enjoying the story so far! I'll be sure to release more parts soon, so look forward to that! See you all very soon!
