Chapter 1- The arrival

She had finally made it. The young Braixen had finally made it to her new home. She looked at the building, admiring it.
"It looks great! I can't wait to get settled in. I'm sure everyone will be really nice."
She said to herself, approaching the building.

She entered the lobby, going to the front desk. A Gardevoir greeted her.
"Welcome. May I help you?"
The Gradevoir asked.
"Yes. My name is Blaze. I have a reserved room, is that right?"
She asked.
The Gardevoir looked through a complex looking database on a computer screen.
"Ah, yes. There you are. We're glad to see you'll be joining us."
The Gardevoir handed blaze a key. Your room is on the eighth floor, room 824. Enjoy your stay with us."
The Gardevoir said, giving Blaze a smile.
"Thank you. I'm sure We will."
She replied, waiting for the elevator to take her up to her room.

An hour later, all the boxes had been moved, and Blaze was carrying the last two up to her new home. She was having a little trouble, but was slowly making progress. As she reached her room, she looked across the hallway as a door opened. She continued to watch as a Lucario stepped out. He didn't notice her at first, but after he locked his door an turned around, he noticed her.
"Oh, hi there."
He said, looking at her struggling.
"Hello. It's nice to... meet you."
She replied. She was beginning to lose her grip.
"Do you need help? I can take one for you if you want."
He offered. She nodded quickly, and he took the top one. Blaze adjusted her grip and opened the door.
"You can just set it down there. I'll be fine."
Blaze told him. He set the box down, and looked around.
"So, you're just moving in?"
He asked.
"Yeah. It shouldn't take me long to get settled in. The College I'm going to starts up again soon, after all."
She replied.
"Really?"
He said.
"What College are you going to?"
"You know, the one down near the river? I can't remember the name."
She replied.
"Spring River College? Is that it?"
He asked, smiling.
"Yes, that's it. I'm starting just next week, so I have to unpack rather quickly."
She told him.
"I know- I'm going there too!"
He said, still smiling.
"You-You are? What a coincidence."
She said.
"Yeah, I'm starting next week as well. Maybe we'll see each other there?"
He said to her.
"Yeah, maybe we will."
She replied.
"Well, I'd love to stay and talk, but as coincidental as it is, my friend just moved in a few floors up, and I told him I'd help him get settled in. I'll see you soon."
He said, walking toward the elevator.
"Wait! What's your name?"
She asked.
"My name? Oh, it's Ricky. My friends call me Rick for short."
He replied.
"I'm Blaze."
She responded.
"Well, it was great meeting you, Blaze. I'll see you later."
Ricky said, getting into the elevator.
She watched him disappear before closing her door and beginning to unpack.
"He seems really nice. Hopefully all of the neighbours are like him."
She said to herself as she unpacked.

Two hours after she first moved in, Blaze had most of the essentials unpacked. It was getting a little late, so she decided to prepare something and decided on a Pizza. She ate quickly, realising she was more hungry than she originally thought. After washing the dishes that she used, she heard her cell phone ringing. She didn't have to guess who was calling.

"Hello, mother."
She said, waiting for a response.
"Hey there sweetheart! How's it going? Have you unpacked yet?"
"Almost. I've just got few more boxes left to go."
She replied.
"Oh, good. Do you like it there? Is it a nice place?"
Her mother asked.
"Of course. I came to take a look before I moved, remember?"
"Yes, yes, I remember. Anyway, we just Called to see how you're doing. Have you met any of your neighbours yet?"
Her mother asked.
"One of them. I met a Lucario named Ricky. He lives across the hall."
Blaze told her mother.
"Oh, really? Does that mean you've finally found someone you like?"
Her mother teased.
"M-Mother, I've only known him for a couple of hours! I know practically nothing about him!"
She replied, blushing.
"I do know that he's going to the same university though..."
"Well then it looks like you'll be seeing a lot of him. That'll help you!"
Her mother replied.
"Mother, it's not like that! Pokemon don't just fall in love after a day or two!"
She replied, still blushing as she thought of her and Ricky being together. If she was being honest, she didn't mind that idea...
"Yes, I understand. These things take time. One day, you'll see him differently. I know you will."
Her mother said. Blaze was beginning to get annoyed. Her mother always teased her about love- every time she saw Blaze with a boy she didn't know, she would go on about how they were perfect for each other.
"Look mother, I'm going to go. I'm going to unpack some more and get some rest. It's been a long day."
She yawned. She had been travelling for three hours straight to get from her parents's house to her new apartment.
"Of course. You get a good night's rest. I'll talk to you tomorrow. And say hello to Ricky for me when you see him again!"
"M-Mother, stop! I told you, it's not like that!"
Blaze replied. She could her her mother laughing through the phone.
"Yes, of course. I'm only teasing you, dear. Be sure to enjoy yourself- you only have one week before you go to university. Be sure to go out and find your way around. It's a whole new area, remember."
Her mother told her.
"Yes, I know. I'll be sure to explore the city before I go. I'll know how get around."
Blaze told her.
"Good girl. I'll speak to you soon. Goodbye, sweetheart."
Her mother said.
"Goodbye, mother."
She hung up, looked around, and sighed. Looking up at the clock it read 7:33.
"Okay, I've got more time to unpack and then off to bed."
She said, opening another box.

She finished unpacking, and everything was ready. She looked at the boxes littered across her apartment.
"I'll clear them up tomorrow." She said to herself. She heard pokemon moving outside her room, and looked through the small glass window through her front door. She saw Ricky going into his room, locking the door behind him. She also saw an Infernape and a Sceptile walk past her door. She sat down and looked through the messages on her phone. She had a few from her friends back home who she said she would keep in touch with, at least for a while. She saw a message that had been left from her best friend, a Gallade named Blade. When the two first got to know each other, the first thing the found they had in common was how similar their names sounded. They would often get confused when one of their names was called as they couldn't tell who was wanted. She looked through and replied to all of them. After she finished, she looked at the clock, which read 10:25.
She found she stayed up a little later than intended. She got ready for bed and tried to fall asleep. With some difficulty, she fell into a restless sleep. She found that sleeping in a new place was difficult, but she knew it wouldn't be too long before she got used to it. She looked forward to living in her new home, and she could hardly wait to experience the amazing things the city and college life had in store for her.

Wow- over 1300 words?! That's probably the most I've ever written for a chapter before! I'll be sure to update it regularly, so check back soon! See you all very soon!
