At the train station of Portorosso...

Luca & Giulia: (hopping off the train with their bags) Alberto!

Alberto: (hugging both of his friends) Luca! Giulia! I'm so happy to see you both again!

This winter...

Giulia: Our winter vacation last for two weeks. So, this is our first day of winter vacation, and there's no time to waste it.

Alberto: So, where should we go?

Giulia: Philippines

An airplane made a safe landing at the Manila International Airport.

Giulia: This is gonna be some vacation!

Both Paguro and Marcovaldo families got out of the airport with Luca glancing around at his surroundings.

Luca: So this is the Philippines. It's beautiful!

Filipino humans walked down the street with boys wearing shirts and pants while girls wearing blouses and skirts. Vehicles like old-modeled cars, jeepneys, and horse carriages moved around the streets. Star-shaped lanterns were hung in every house, building, and streetlight.

Takes on a new adventure...

With the other kids playing Sipa, Luca tried to kick the washer with colorful plastic straw with his foot in front of him, but he tripped down, accidentally kicked the washer in the air, and hit a boy on the head, who was sitting on the table at a café.

Paolo: Hey! Who did that?

The other Filipino children pointed at Luca, Alberto, and Giulia. Alberto was helping Luca get back up on his feet.

Paolo: (approaching the trio) Hmm... I've never seen you around here before

Mariposa: Leave them alone! (coming across between Paolo and the Underdogs with her skates) They're coming with me!

Luca, Alberto, and Giulia hopped on the empty space of a wagon with musical instrument. Mariposa blew a raspberry at Paolo.

And a new friendship

Giulia: Underdogs have to stick together, right?

Mariposa: Under-huh?

Mariposa took the trio to her house.

Mariposa: Mano po, Nanay, Tatay. I brought friends for dinner.

Mariposa's mother, Isabel, cut down raw meat with her knife.

Luca spat water on Alberto's face revealing partially his se monster form, and causing Luca and Giulia to gasp, and they both pushed Alberto down under the table while Mariposa and her family turned to check on them. The three then went back up, grinning nervously.

Luca and Alberto ate their food with their hands while Giulia grinned nervously at a confusing Mariposa.

Andres: Where did you kids come from?

The trio's eyes widened.

With lots of trouble.

Massimo: Just in case if you kids get into any trouble...

Alberto: What kind of trouble? We're always careful.

A driven motorcycle made a huge splash from the puddle. Luca and Giulia hid under a small platform stage while Alberto got himself wet from the splash, and quickly hid with his friends.

Lots of love...

The four sat on top of a tree.

Alberto: You're lucky to have a family who loves you and believes in you

Mariposa: You're lucky you have each other No one wants to be friends with a weird-o like me

Luca: We can be your friends.

Mariposa smiled.

Mariposa: Wanna see something cool?

Mariposa led the trio to another building next to her house, and they took the stairs. Luca, Alberto, and Giulia's eyes widened and their jaws dropped when they saw whole room of sea collections.

And lots of trust...

Mariposa showed the trio how to spoon a crushed ice in a halo-halo.

Luca and Giulia use their hands and feet to make a tower between them one at a time as Alberto jumped over them.

Mariposa showed them how to make a parol out of bamboo sticks and Japanese paper.

"Cousin": You can't be friends with them!

Mariposa: Why can't you be happy for me that I finally found friends who cared for me?!

Giulia: Mariposa is an underdog, like us.

Luca: Maybe we can tell her we are.

Alberto: This is Mariposa we're talking about. We cant trust her that quickly. What do you think is gonna happen when she sees our fish faces? And when she found out you were friends with sea monsters like us?

Paolo: Something's fishy with you three, (pointing at Luca and Alberto) Especially you two boys.

Mariposa: (hugging Luca, Alberto, and Giulia) You three are the friends that I could ever ask for.

The three smiled before hugging their new friend in return.

Luca, Alberto, & Giulia: Underdogs?

They looked smilingly at Mariposa, insisting her to join them. Mariposa smiled as she put her own hand on theirs.
