"Here we are. Math. Can't believe you and I both have 4 classes together! All advanced classes too!" Crystal told Jade. "Yeah. I only have 1 class with Jessica. We have none with Jennifer, sadly." Jade said. "Hey there!" A voice called out. A collie ran to Jade. "My name is Kelly Marson. May I ask who you are?" Kelly asked. "Uhh, yeah. I'm Jade and this is my best friend, Crystal." Jade replied. "Awesome!!! Maybe we all can be best friends!" Kelly said. Everyone walked into the classroom. "Hello class. My name is Mrs. Ducc. Today in mathematics we will be learning about my favorite topic in math. Fractions!!! Everyone open your math book to page 75." Mrs. Ducc said. "Ok. So, looking at the first problem, who can tell me what the directions are?" Jade raised her hand. "Yes, Jade?" "The directions are to look at each problem carefully. Then, use fractions to find out how many donuts each person will get." Jade replied. "That is correct Jade. Thank you for paying attention." Mrs. Ducc replied.
***After 3rd period.***
"Jade, can you sit by me at lunch?" Kelly asked Jade. "Uhh, sure. I'm going to go let Crystal know where we are sitting." Jade said. Kelly grabbed Jade by the shoulder. "No, please. Don't let her sit by us. I have to talk to you about her." "Uhh, ok." Jade replied. Jade got her lunch and sat down with Kelly. "So, what do you need to talk to me about?" Jade asked. "Crystal. Earlier today in 2nd period when you went to go sharpen your pencil, Crystal said some nasty things to me. She told me to back off away from you and that you were Her friend and I would never be able to compare to her. She wouldn't stop being mean to me. When she saw you coming back from the pencil sharpener she stopped." Kelly told Jade. "That can't be true. Crystal would never do that. For goodness sake she wouldn't even harm a ladybug!" Jade said, angered. "That might be what you think, but it was true. She wouldn't stop being mean." Jade couldn't believe her ears. She wanted to ask Crystal if it was true, but even if it was, could she believe Crystal? It was to hard to decide. What should I do? If this is what Kelly is telling me, I do not know if I could trust Crystal anymore. Jade thought. What Jade didn't know was that she was being blackmailed. Who knew one new friend could lead to many enemies? Could it be true? Jade had no clue. This was hard to think about. Jade had to see it for her own eyes, and Kelly knows exactly how to make that happen.
